The sound of festival music rings out in the air as a cool breeze comes in from the harbor. Covered in glitter and shoes still tainted with vomit, a man stumbles from side to side across the dark alleyway between brothels.
Ha! I've sure been there before! Poor fool, hope he makes it home okay...
As the sun comes up and the dawn birds start their song, many lone stragglers make way for softer surroundings in which to sleep off last nights many drinks. As Voarthan makes his way down the street, he looks down at the newly acquired square seal of the amulet around his neck.
Wow, my head is starting to feel all those rounds, but there was something I was told about this square amulet around my neck, what was it?! Or where?! Was I supposed to keep it on or off? Or was I supposed to take it off before leaving somewhere?!
About that time, out of the shadows, a voice is heard soft at first but louder as the message ends sending fear into Vorathan's soul!
Shoockkinng Graaaaaspp!!

Jack, that was a great game to end on, even tho I spent most the time puking on my invisible shoes. Definitely interested in some pbp! Hopefully Steve and Aaron are down for some too!

The group find themselves in much more comfortable surroundings after the Mindscape removed its effects. Vorathan takes a quick look around to make sure it's not another trick, but seeing the Venture Captain and hearing her speak calms his anxiety. As he tries to stand up his legs seem extra heavy and exceedingly numb.
Pins and needles!!! Ack!! Just don't fall over infront of everyone...
"Worry not Captain, we all understand this job is not for the faint at heart. With your aid, we prevailed, that is all that matters now."
As Vorathan finishs speaking he looks back at Bugdip with a hint of concern.
"OK сіз онда лягушка адам?"

Go ahead and Lockwood me flanking with Edgar please
Hearing the call from Edgar, Vorathan moves into flanking position and boxes the creature in.
Magnetic boxes, damn cheek, lets get rid of this...
Vorathan reaches out to touch the magnetic box to de magnetize it rendering it useless as soon as it is touched by a creature.

With the beast seeming to focus his attack on the master dwarf, Vorathan sees his opportunity to rain pain from atop his invisible perch.
Wait for the line, wait for the line, breathe....GOTCHA!

The ferocious attack leaving Bugdip bleeding on the ground sends a ripple of severity and anger through Vorathan as he watched helplessly the body draining of life force.
Those spears are far too powerful to overcome in close melee! I need to get some distance...and now!
Vorathan kicks up from the ground and hovers 10ft above his previous stance. As he flies upward, he sheaths his sword and draws his bow.
"WE WILL MAKE YOU PAY FOR THAT!!"

2 nat 8s and a 7 for dam and we can't even hit it....boo this man! And on a side note, I thought the current location of the monster is where Edgar was supposed to be standing in order to get in flankin position with glarifyur but he said he had not moved the token on the board...did I read that wrong or was a Lockwood missed?

As the dust settles from Nugats stoney strike and Bugdip's magical melee, Vorathan takes an angle to attack not from his usual perspective.
That last encounter has shown me that sometime you have to think of attacks from a new view so let see how you handle this!
With a light push up from the ground and a mindful awareness of his surroundings, Vorathan launches straight upward to make an airborne attack. Gaining enough height, he aims his sword at the four armed foe and charges from the heavens.

The feeling of deja' vu is nearly nauseating as the group seems to flip and pass into previous memories. As the store disappears and this new crystal hallway settles into existence a strange new form seems to block the adventurers way.
"As much fun as this has been, I am officially all funned out! Archievist, this is your last chance to allow us passage without having conflict. Let it be know, it's diffuclut to acquire new knowledge when you are destroyed. Take this opportunity to free Wulessa and us before you leave no choice."

Come out to the Mindscapes...have a few laughs...
"Well that was bloody fantastic! I knew you had it in you Nugats, if anyone could rip a stone beast limb from limb, my money is definitely on you! Rattus ol boy, you feeling alright? Nothing broken I hope."
Vorathan takes a quick spin around the room to see if there are any ways to vacate this fun house and then tries another approach to appeal to the controller of this realm.
"Master Archievist, your power and knowledge are truly wonderful and I believe it is safe to say that we are less welcome here now than before, so with your permission and grace, if you are so kind as to grant us a door to leave your fantastic palace, we would happily and promptly bid you adieu."

Somethings got to give! Rattus will be pulverized if we keep this up!
Vorathan examines closely the punishing overgrown pot, power-pummeling our poor pathfinders.
"It's working Rattus, you certainly have its attention!"
Seeing his opening, the rogue moves to strike!

"Nugats! Geo-lock on this things little stoney gonads and rip 'em out its chest!! Tear off a leg and prone it so Glarifyur can hammer smash its head!" Vorathan exclaims seemingly a tad frustrated at his recent miss.

The statue has certainly proved to be a nuisance to the group as it goes unscathed for multiple attacks. Vorathan takes a step back and sets up a flanking attack.

Unfortunately, even with all his guile, Vorathan has trouble finding the kink in the soldier's armor.

Ok so I have a question that I guess I should have asked before my last atk, i thought this terra pain in the cotta soldier was a medium sized creature by the link Steve posted, that's why I moved as close as I did, but if he is taking up 4 squares, thus Bugdip's flanking atk, my last atk should have had a +2 to hit, not that it would make much difference as well as my extra 1d6 for sneak atk flanking damage. So does the size of the token mean it's large or is where it's feet are reflect its position?

With this new threat to the group, Vorathan watches intently for an opportunity to strike. Seeing his chance with short sword in hand, the rogue moves in for the attack.

Vorathan watches as his allies attack and sees any non magical offensive prove futile.
It would seem a potion enchanting our weapons may have come in more use, ah, thank you Captain Hindsight...
In effort to at least box the smokey demon in, Vorathan moves to flank the beast with Bugdip hoping his abilities would be more effective against a surrounded opponent. As he moves in, Vorathan shoulders his bow and draws his short sword with the hopes it may fair better in finding its target.
"Box the foul beast in and hit it with any magic you got!"
I will move Vorathan opposite corner to Bugdip, but I have to get to my computer to do it so just use your imagination till then, ;)!
Cyrussed by the Dipper!!

Not sure what u mean Bugdip, I'm within 30 ft of the target attacking Tybain, is there something I'm missing for a point blank shot with a short bow?

Well these smoke demons seem real enough to send Tybain gasping for breath, bow don't fail me now!
With a new disdain for these shadow creatures, Vorathan aims his once trusty bow for another strike toward the monster attacking Tybain.
Point Blank Shot: 1d20 + 4 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 4 + 1 = 10

Well this brings a whole new meaning to shadow boxing...
Vorathan sees that this foe has a shadow form that seems not affected by physical attacks but something has to be creating these images.
"Something has to be summoning these shadows, we need to find out which is the one who is and focus fire on it! Anyone making a good connect on something solid call it out!"

"I think we are going to have trouble with conventional weapons here! My arrow was true but seemed not to find purchase, anyone got any idea?! Wulessa, how did you defeat them before?"
The rogue exclaims with a distinct concern in his voice as his usual confidence as an archer suddenly begins to waver.

It seems to have come to the inevitable as Bugdip looses his magic towards the shapes.
I guess this means they see them too! Good...for a second there I thought this potion had gone to my head...
"Well let's not repeat history today comrades in arms!"
Taking precise aim at the same smokey figure Bugdip sought to sunder, the rogue draws his bow and lets fly a shot with mal content.

The group all on guard, pass the idea of flying around like a fully rolled herbal inhalant. Vorathan accepts this opportunity with at first hesitation then followed by excitement.
Let me think here, a flying archer, where have I heard about that before...I haven't a clue...pity....I hope I have the heart for this!
"I guess flying in this realm is truly possible! If your sure you don't want to Nugats I will be happy to give it a go. At least if I take a face dive into the floor, you can get as good a chuckle as we did at your attempt."
Vorathan turns the potion up and as the bubbly tonic washes down, his head begins to feel lighter and his legs seem to no longer support his weight. With just the mere thought and light lean the rogue finds himself up in the air floating with ease. Not wanting to be bouncing off the ceiling or caught too high up, Vorathan descends back to the floor where he was previously standing however much lighter on his feet. The once wide grin turns serious as he notices the 2 blobs forming down below.
"Anybody else seeing this mist forming shapes down here or am I high of this stuff I just I imbibed?!"

Male CG Human Rogue 1 | HP: 9/9 | AC: 16 (14 Tch, 12 Fl) | CMB: +1, CMD: 15 | F: +1, R: +6, W: +1 | Init: +4 | Perc: +1, SM: +5 | Speed 30ft | Sneak Attack +1D6; Trapfinding | Spells: none | Active conditions: None
Just when you think this place can't get any weirder...
Vorathan stops mid thought conscious that any thoughts may have a way of materializing, clearing his mind and trying to stay in the present here and now. As Bugdip speaks to the new form and slightly less attractive Captain Yuul, the talk of aerial assault draws Vorathan's gaze upward scanning for shapes. The suddenly appearing rope then catches his eye.
"So am I to guess we are to be assaulted from the air? What's with the rope? Are we to use it to bind something? Can we enchant it to climb up somewhere? Any Dwarven eyes see a ledge or platform to give us a height advantage should the battle turn upward?"
This new concept seems to cause Vorathan to wish a change in tactic, reach is going to be potentially important. He sheaths his sword and prepares his bow for any unwanted guests.

Definately noooo more mushrooms...is this the 'bat country' that old coot at the oasis kept hollering about after eating too much peyote?!
Vorathan carefully takes a look around while keeping his feet firmly in place. The shifting shape in the void draws most of his curiosity.
"A question mark huh, does that mean you have a question for us or we are to ask a question of you?"
Speaking at the shape in the void, Vorathan wonders if he really has lost it; for talking to shadows never bodes well.
Male CG Human Rogue 1 | HP: 9/9 | AC: 16 (14 Tch, 12 Fl) | CMB: +1, CMD: 15 | F: +1, R: +6, W: +1 | Init: +4 | Perc: +1, SM: +5 | Speed 30ft | Sneak Attack +1D6; Trapfinding | Spells: none | Active conditions: None
Vorathan looks around in vain to find something out of sorts.
This whole place is out of sorts, Bugdip is pawing through panties while Garifyur seems to be projecting some inner thoughts of a girl he once knew, Erin did he say...or think? We are gonna need a miracle to get outta here!
"Ok, well Tybain found some picture books that I doubt were from your childhood, Captain, but you will have to be the judge of that. For all we know you have been an accelerated reader and dabbled in the arcane whilest others were playing with dolls. The other thing that has me curious is this city out of the window that seems to be just on the other side of the glass. What city is that?"

Male CG Human Rogue 1 | HP: 9/9 | AC: 16 (14 Tch, 12 Fl) | CMB: +1, CMD: 15 | F: +1, R: +6, W: +1 | Init: +4 | Perc: +1, SM: +5 | Speed 30ft | Sneak Attack +1D6; Trapfinding | Spells: none | Active conditions: None
With a magical fade, the filth disturbing Vorathan has disappeared leaving his features much more to his approval.
An illusion huh, based on my memories...waaaaait.
"Hold on, so if this place is formulations based on our memories and I just 'imagined' my hair maimed by brains, which nicely melts away after the illusion is revealed, why could Nugats not fly?! I'm sure he believed enough since, last I check, diving head first into the floorboards is no new Dwarven pastime."
Vorathan takes a look around quickly and deduces deeper.
"Wulessa claims this place is adding her 'knowledge' to the archive thus this lemon level of hell we now abide, let's think why. True, this time must have been full of learning for her which explains the books abound and I doubt she herself consciously controlled it to bring the construct to this point in time. We entered and were quickly attacked by constructs of our present time. Wulessa is a common factor in both, granted she didn't fair too well the first part. Is this Wulessa we speak to in the mirror just that, a mirror image of the last foe? A chant brought us in, does its mirror bring us out? Bugdip, what about reading the scroll backwards? Does that ever work in arcane lore or is that just myth told at bedtimes?"

Seeming to be confused in their search for things out of the norm, the room with no warning begins to change as if a shark appearing from previously empty dark water.
Well at least that confirms we are in the Mindscape, or perhaps I should have skipped those mushrooms at lunch...they did taste kind of funny.
"It seems we are now in some child's room, female perhaps? This anyone's memory who needs to get something off their chest?"
Vorathan then sees Bugdip jumping about in front of the mirror, followed by the familiar voice of the Captain freshly slain.
"My dear Wulessa, so we are to be clear, you say you're trapped in here as well? And by us talking, is it safe to assume you didn't just threaten to feast on our innards just before Nugats sprayed your grey matter across my brow? Was that not your doing and if not, who's was it?"
Vorathan finishes his comments with a quick run of his hand through his hair causing some to spike up as if coyly styled and sling his hand downward flinging brain bits about.

The dust cloud spun up by Nugat's devastating ground attack settles and the Pathfinders are now alone in the room.
"I would ask if everyone is ok but it seems we moved so swift, she or it, had little chance but to make a quick mention of her trap being sprung before exploding. Was that Captain Yuul and did she really trap us in this Mindscape? What of our bodies? Are we still....aww Nugats! You got psycho guts and dirt all in my hair!!"
Vorathan tries to wipe as much grime as he could off but realizes it's a futile task without a proper shower. He then looks toward the middle of the room and sees the scroll with a light glow to it.
"Anyone get a magical read on this scroll? Is it a portal?"

It never fails! There's always a trap!!
The once cordial voice of the Captain falls away to this possessed darkened sound that reaches Vorathan's ears and makes him turn about just as his companions loose their magic on the beast. Rattus then steps in with a mighty blade slicing to and fro with a true swordsman's skill allowing Vorathan clean opportune for a strike of his own.
The rogue moves in to flank the threat before him, aiming his short sword with care to leave more than just a flesh wound.
"I was never one to enjoy striking a lady, but my innards are nay for feasting!"
Vorathan moves 5 ft. directly toward Wulessa thus flanking her with Rattus, if someone would be so kind to Lockwood me, I'll try and get my laptop ready for battles.

So I'm guessing this tactical map programme and iPads don't jive, is there a way to move the tokens or do I just need to find a computer?

With all the commotion of face planting Dwarven eaglettes and dancing toads, Vorathan takes a closer look at the flapping window curtains trying to determine where the wind is coming from.
"Well Nugats, I sure your father would be proud that you fly much like a stone."
Unsheathing his short sword, Vorathan uses it to carefully move each curtain back to see what hides behind, taking care to notice any anomalies indicating an unwanted device. As he looks, he catches his reflection in the glass and takes the opportunity to inspect his appearance taking careful aim at his beard.
Ugh, it has been far too long since I have shaved, I'm starting to become unkept as an outcast halfdwarf beggar! May have to take a moment if this Mindscape journey has not began to right this most awful wrong!
trap finding: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (7) + 9 = 16

Wulessa holds a delicate yet firm hand out to Vorathan which he gladly accepts. He relaxes and tries to focus on the sound of her voice really not understanding what she is saying and half expecting a flash of mystical light or cloud of smoke to encircle the group whisking them away to a psychedelic colored dreamland where Nugats floats overhead playing a yellow tambourine. Vorathan can't help but have a slight grin at the thought.
Well I better keep it together, if this works there is no telling if thoughts become real in this plane of existence.
At the end of the chant everything is silent and Vorathan can help but look around with a semi-disappointed glance to the lack of great spectacle to the supposedly entering of the Mindscape.
Did it work?! Are we there? I didn't see anything happen...but what is up with the window dressings? I could have sworn the windows were shut when we came in, but I don't recall someone opening them.
"Did someone open a window? The curtains are about to come off the wall but yet the wind has not much effect beyond the window frame. Are we in the Mindscape? Nugats can you fly?!"
Vorathan says with a smile to Nugats, keeping in place and remaining still ahold of the hands of his comrades at his sides.

A sudden thought occurred to Vorathan as the group nestled into their positions around in a circle.
"So just to be clear Captain, we are going into a state of mind, and you will be able to 'see' what our minds project? If that be the case, please forgive any improper scenes you may discover on my behalf. It's true that I normally can filter my thoughts before words but it may be difficult to, let say censor my raw emotions, as it were and I hope to not to have my last image of a gorgeous woman fall prey to my charms becoming a distraction."
Vorathan says this with a coy little smile.
I can only image what's in store for us when sharing our minds, if Nugats' description is a preview for what's to come. What happens if we fall asleep? Do we dream? Would that be a dream in a dream or should that create a link moving our normal bodies?! .... Better focus on not doing anything indecent with our Venture Captain, that will kill any chance for sure.
"You know, Nugats, the ability to fly may come in handy. But hopefully the imaginations of our foes are not able to conjure abilities at will against us as well."
Vorathan is more of a middle of the party type of positioned, but he is always on the look out for traps

Nugats proposal still fresh in the air, Vorathan considers the idea with a keen sense of purpose.
We could indeed make a killing! Never hurts to have multiple streams of income for sure. BLOGUANRNUGATSOFARMUNGEN and Albercoft House of Cards...may need to work on the name...
"You know, Nugats, your right. Perhaps we could make a business venture together, and anyone else who may be willing to invest of course. 'Dwarven Dice and Den of Decks,' the newest gambling hall welcome all! They can call it 'Pair of Double D's' for short!"
Vorathan says this with a flourish of his hands in the air as if reading a sign overhead while the group makes there way back to Farseer Tower. Once back to the Captain's office, they are greeted by Yuul who has been busy...redecorating.
"Captain Yuul, what a pleasure to see you without such a downtrodden undertone as we once left you, seems your mood has improved greatly and I wonder if my comrades and I have had anything to do with this?"
Vorathan helps the group set the Archive in place where Yuul explains her wishes and as she seems to almost bounce with a hidden excitement, of course he would assist in her further pursuit.
"If this is what has brought such a beautiful smile to your face, you can count me in to help keep it there."

As the sultry Jelaris gets her dice ready to roll, Vorathan gives her a most seductive smile followed by a wink as she cast her die.
Now this is one of those potential go big or go home moments, but if Bugdips roll has any glimpse into Desra's mood, we may have just gone big...at least we have one 20 on the board to work with in the worse case.
The die comes to a rest on its fate with a glorious 2 showing. A warm ecstatic rush swoops over Vorathan as he does his best to hide his excitement. In his efforts he almost felt bad for the Madam...almost.
"It would seem the Stars have delayed your research until another date, thank you for the generous game! We look forward to bringing the Mirror to Muqual."
Turning to Bugdip as the group makes their way out:
"Яғни, менің досым , сіз кестені іске қалай !"

Having discussed the matter at hand of who is to roll and for what, Vorathan takes the remaining 9 dice up in a cup and give a silent moment of reflection.
Guess this game qualifies as a gamble for ones life.
He then tosses out the dice and finishes with a quick wave of his hand.
"Well, would you look a that! Bugdip you are a natural!"
Buying 9 dice this round
9d20 ⇒ (16, 1, 15, 12, 6, 3, 6, 2, 5) = 66
sleight of hand: 2d20 + 8 ⇒ (18, 10) + 8 = 36
my bad I screwd up the fomulas, so I gues the slight of hand roll uses the first roll so 26? In that case.
rerolled dice: 2d20 ⇒ (19, 18) = 37

Yeah and I have a sleight of hand + 8 so I'm up for splitting some rolls to have a chance to reroll but whatever is clever, should we want to put all our eggs in one basket or break into a couple chuncks. I'm up for input.

"Madame Jaleris I presume, it is an honor to make your acquaintance. My name is Vorathan Albercoft. My companions and I have been talking with a Master Marqual who mentioned there is a "reflective" item in your possession and he is most interested in acquiring it. As my friend Rattus has subtly eluded to, we understand the type of price you require but are also possibly interested in sweetening the deal over a gamble or two. Perhaps we can make some accord that is as agreeable as your smile?"

Upon leaving the merry musings of Master Murqual, the group finds itself on task once again in another shop of wares most interesting.
Now this is more to my liking, no cages, no chains and if I didn't already know there was a game that would potentially steal my life in the back, I would say I would be right at home here...ooo! I wonder if they have any eud du twalet here...
Before Vorathan's curiosity gots the better of him, the group approaches a lovely window eyed lass dusting, who pauses and with an most alluring smile, bids them welcome.
"Greetings my dear, Vorathan Albercoft is my name and it is certain, that as wonderful as your perfume is, you are indeed in the business of delights. Care to provide me details on any special offers currently available?"

A Burro Burrito could be good...
"I am not to sure that's on the menu there Bugdip. Hey, try this phrase out:
Мен сіздің артқы төрттен еніп аудандарға тұман бұрын маған ЗТБ басқа үйірме беріңіз !
I think that will translate right..."
The two contemplate more and more choice phrases in dwarven and in English ranging from the simple 'may I buy you a drink' to the more fun 'you best get out of my face or else,' sayings. After a while, the Grippli seems to have a fairly good grasp of the language and it's his imagination that's the only limit.

Ok I get it, but to be sure, are we rolling house dice or can we use say a loaded die? Also with the cheat dc how do we know how many 5s Over the dc to reroll that many dice? And not to take the fun from anyone but if we want to let Nugats take 10 and I take 10 and give a couple rounds to see our luck to start I'm down with that or if everyone wants even amount to have to gamble off I'm down with that too, that way your "life" is in ur hands.
