Sorry for the hold up in my posting, today. I'm currently running a recruitment which just closed and I now have the daunting task of deciding who gets into my game. I will make an in-game posting as Viviana tomorrow morning. I appreciate the understanding. Heading to bed. Night!
Ok, the opening scene and Ismene's shopping dialogue are up! Ismene is written assuming she has at least one shopping buddy, since it seemed Thonis was maybe not up for girl-time just yet. So Viviana, possibly, and implying Shiyara is the shop-owner. Vivi is certainly there, shopping with Ismene. :)
A bemused smile met her friend's words. Then in a voice to calm Ismene, Viviana answered agreeably, "Deep sapphire blues have suited you well. A velvet gown would be lovely..." she uttered as her friend questioned the Elven seamstress. Viviana reached out and appreciatively stroked some of the satin and lace ribbons hanging prettily in bright and pretty hues. And then in a lowered, more discreet voice, she continued, "And we must have some tasteful jewellery - none of those gaudy baubles preferred by some high-born ladies." Viviana's mind wondered monetarily to Petellia. The senior acolyte had granted permission for her to forgo the usual churchly duties so she could spend the day primping for the festivities to come. Casting a glance at Ismere, she added, "Will you be purchasing a matching fan? I cannot see you with one of those lace and ivory stick folding fans. Perhaps a hand-painted one to match your gown. Last gala I saw a few with feathers and jewels and they were quite extravagant. Although, you having one in smaller, deep blue feathers may be quite smart."
I think holding the proper meeting with Lady Martella in Zahur's establishment is a wonderful idea as it gives it a little more flavour in terms of bringing in personal bits and pieces of a character/each character into play. I'm good with doing a re-gala shopping with the Noble girls and encountering Shiyara in her shop. :)
No, not at all Torin. As a Shelyn cleric, Viviana does spend some time on the streets of Oppara, with other acolytes, helping out those less fortunate than she. If she has crossed paths with those outside her immediate social circle, then there is a chance she may have seen or met some others during these walks about the city.
@Bluedove: I've never used the Elephant in the Room Feat Tax before. Does that mean that if Viviana has finessable weapons, she doesn't have to take the Weapon Finesse feat and can simply use her dex mod in lieu of her str mod on weapon attacks? At the moment, I have WF listed as feat, but if I don't have to take it, then it frees me up to take something else. Thanks. :)
I am good with having connections with the minor noble gals in one form or another - they probably will have had the chance to see each other at gatherings and soirées. I agree with Zathur on keeping the linking organic and between a select few. It'll also make first introductions with some other characters a little more fun if it's the first time through Lady Martella. :) As an Urban Ranger, I do get Disable Device as a class skill and during the other recruitment I swapped it out for another skill (I can swap it back in, no problem). She already has the Masterwork Thieves Tools in her gear. (Edit: Okay, Viviana now has DD. It looks like Zahur has DD as well. If it's overkill to have them both have it, I can easily swap it back out for something else. Please let me know.)
