Vincent hangs his head and shakes it, thinking that Ameiko's nerves are already frayed. He hopes she will be able to hold her temper, but without conscious thought, he checks the pistol at his side.

Before the discussion becomes more heated, Vincent attempts to soothe Ameiko while gently holding her hand. "My lady, this day has begun with much unsettling news between the attack and the appearance of your departed sister. I do not think he meant any offense, but if you will it, I will challenge him for your honor."

Ameiko:
The intent here is to make Ameiko feel heard and that Vincent has her back. While the offer of challenge is genuine, it is also clearly an overreaction to the situation. He is hoping that if she chooses to calm him down, she will also take a beat and calm herself down.

That was directed at NPCs, though PCs can respond as they wish, of course. The idea was to have a chance to interfere in case anyone tries to stop her talking, things like that.

Ignoring the guards' disapproval for now, as it only matters what Ameiko thinks, Vincent recoils at the thought of anyone using these devices. It certainly isn't something that he wishes to see again.

Traveling with the carnival, Vincent isn't fond of overeager lawmen. He stands near Ameiko, as if he is her companion. This is not only to offer support to her, but to also appear innocent by association.

First, given the number of games people are in, characters they encounter, and time that goes by between interactions, it is one of the easiest ways to reference who a character is and what their capabilities are.

Second, in this specific case, people might want to understand how you arrived at a 216 point stat total without being accusatory.

Hearing the distress in the young tavern owner's voice, Vincent turns away from the fires and approaches Ameiko. As confused as he is by the situation, he can imagine that hers is much greater. He offers a hand in what is meant to be a comforting gesture, doubting that any words will suffice.

If the fires die out, Vincent will allow his storm to disperse.

Because Aleister is also a tattooed unarmed warrior, and we haven't done much combat, I was thinking of switching things up in regards to classes, possibly based off of Ethan Chandler of Penny Dreadful. Thoughts or concerns?

At the sherriff's observation, Vincent surreptitiously gestures at the fires and a light mist begins to form which turns into a drizzle, then a light rain, and finally a moderate downpour.

Precipitation 4: Rains that automatically extinguish unprotected flames (candles, torches, and the like). Such rains impose a –2 penalty on ranged attack rolls and on Perception checks. In addition to automatically extinguishing any unprotected flames, rains of this magnitude cause protected flames (such as those of lanterns) to dance wildly and have a 50% chance of extinguishing these lights.

Vincent tests the gangplank to see if it is still serviceable before making his way on to the ship, looking for any hobgoblins that were not knocked off in the explosion. After a minute or so, the winds return to normal.

Wind can work, whether(yuk,yuk) or not it works in this case is up to the DM. And I went with wind over rain because it is more subtle.

Not everything we do will work, sometimes we even accidentally make things worse. In this case, it seems like the liquid of alchemist's fire only burns for 1 round after it explodes. After that, anything on fire is just on fire normally. But if it doesn't work that way, I'm okay with it. Just trying stuff. =)

Using Control Weather to try to extinguish the flames on the boat. My current range is 120'. It goes up a severity level each round, but the most I can generate is a Strong Wind for now.

Wind Severity:
Light Wind
A gentle breeze, having little or no game effect.

Moderate Wind
A steady wind with a 50% chance of extinguishing small, unprotected flames, such as candles.

Strong Wind
Gusts that automatically extinguish unprotected flames (candles, torches, and the like). Such gusts impose a –2 penalty on ranged attack rolls and on Perception checks.
