About Vellocet Voila
Vellocet Voila
Vellocet has two passions: alchemy and dungeon delving. Growing up in the shadow of all the nearby Thassilonian ruins in Magnimar gave Vellocet easy access to those ancient monuments but it just created a hunger for more. Vellocet would like to visit sites further away from Magnimar and into the remote Storval highlands, maybe even explore undiscovered ruins but to fund these travels he would first need gold.
Vellocet was always a gifted alchemist, his first job was as an apprentice for a dullard who owned his own shop. The only gift he had was lying. Vellocet made the orders that came in and when he didn’t, he had to correct the ones that the owner messed up, all for no credit of course. Vellocet suspected the owner was paying the Sczarni ‘protection’ money and this was confirmed when he was approached by Sczarni members. They didn’t threaten him or try to extort money from him but they did have a business proposition for him. They knew he was the talent behind the shop and they would like him to make alchemical items for the brotherhood and they would pay. This gave Vellocet the freedom to explore the vast Varisian plains for undiscovered sites. His agreement with the Sczarni was so beneficial that he was able to quit his old job and open his own alchemy shop. It was a front for a Sczarni operation but the shop itself was so successful that Vellocet could do all the exploring he wanted.
During one visit to an underground Thassilonian shrine in the Shoanti highlands, Vellocet met other adventures who turned out to be Pathfinders. He explored with them for a while and then thought nothing of it. About a month later he received a message that a Pathfinder representative would like to meet with him at the nearby Heidmarch manor. He returned from that meeting and spoke with his Sczarni family and was soon given a meeting with Guaril Karela himself. Vellocet told him not to worry, he had no intention of joining the Pathfinders although the opportunity would allow him to travel the world and explore other ancient ruins. The Sczarni leader explained that the family could use another operative inside the Pathfinder Society and Vellocet shouldn’t dismiss the invitation without thoroughly thinking it over.
Now, even though he misses his Varisian home, Vellocet looks forward to every Pathfinder mission even though they rarely take him to the catacombs he loves to explore.
