I'm a corpse

2 people marked this as a favorite.

You know... Velaris chokes, feeling everything go cold and dark By the time I met all of you, I knew it wasn't Halthar he smiles a little as oblivion finally takes him.

Oh, come now, Velaris gets last words at least...

Velaris hears the bang, and is knocked to the floor. he barely registers the pain. Why? he asks weakly, trying to get back to his feet, unable to even raise his arms.

Well, that kinda feels like it would sorta negate the point of the luck throw. We went into this knowing our characters might die, and frankly, Velaris deserves it. Besides, I wanna see how Hutch explains this one to the others.

We are rolling Hutch's table. he proposed, so I roll (kinda seemed the way to do it)... so Velaris is gonna die.

Fair enough.

luck throw: 1d6 ⇒ 1

For the record, when I proposed Hutch die on a 1, I didn't know my next d6 was a 1

Okay, fair... one thing... Other hutch was pretty dead, not sure he's as much a threat as you think he is

Interesting how in none of these does hutch succeeed.

Proposal: A die throw. on a 1, Velaris saw this coming (aybe Halthar warned him, maybe he's just a paranoid bastard) and he ijures Hutch before Hutch flees. on a 2 they trade injuries and Hutch flees. On a 3 or 4 Hutch shoot Velaris, but misses vitals and Velaris runs. on a 5-6, Velaris is shot dead, and hutch has to explain that to the rest of the cult.

Sound fair?

The ritual is prepped. Velaris is just waiting on the signal to begin.

Also, as Hutch is gonna betray him before that, how do we wanna resolve that?

I am the prophet of Halthar. with him nothing is impossible. Velaris says A headache forming But if you would activate the spark craft devices at the appointed time, it would not be unwelcome.

We are prepared for the next step in the ritual, though I had to use the accolytes to dispose of a greycloack away from the sanctum. Velaris says, throwing Hutch the Greycloak's ghostbane charm It probbaly isn't safe to be here at the moment, perhaps you could assist them.

Velaris comes out, the greycloak's pistol in hand, and his spirit-bane charm around his neck. as he sees the scene, he asks Hutch, I don't recall you being at the hideout for the ritual. has something gone wrong?

A little self serving, but you say it loud enough to alert Velaris to your plight.

But at the same time, I really want their whole "Duel of the fates" thing to be in the room with the leviathan bone, with whoever bites it (if someone does) dying on the bone, anointing it in blood as they breath their last... Have I mentioned I love this

He also probably sees some desiccated greycloaks and ghosts who've just had a very nice meal.

There's time left, before the influx of energy would begin the next phase of the ritual. he double checks he sparkcraft devices, and applies oils to the bone, before sitting down, and taking a breather until the signal arrives.

Velaris steels himself. he hadn't wanted to allow ghosts into the sanctum, but the Greycloaks had forced his hand.

Hear me, spirits, and obey, for tonight the great Halthar has need of you.

Compel: 4d6 ⇒ (2, 1, 6, 4) = 13 Taking the deal

sooo.... what would the position/effect be on, say, using compel to make The Ghost's help me... and what would the devil deal be?

Skrimshawin' like a madman: 3d6 ⇒ (4, 1, 2) = 7 can I get new dice

Anything else to deal with, or am I back to skrimshawing?

If he will last the move, would you two be willing to dispose of him Velaris says Leave him in that homeless camp and rip the bandage off, or feed him to some hagfish, or just toss him in a canal. and be back as fast as possible He says

command hirelings?: 2d6 ⇒ (1, 5) = 6 that's a 1... there's a very real chance Hutch won't have to go to the trouble

1 person marked this as a favorite.

Wait, what?

Velaris uses one hand to put pressure on the wound, and the other to drag him back to the sanctuary.

Would either of you please bind his wounds? Him dying just now would do us no favours. (assuming I don't need to roll to get one of them to put a bandage on it and hope)

the interlopers dealt with Velari takes up the silvered knife once more. the constellations must be dome before Hutch is

skrimshaw: 3d6 ⇒ (2, 2, 1) = 5

is there room in the plan/ritual for a human sacrifice, or are we just trussing him up ad giving him to the hagfish later?

Velaris drops to his knees, and brings his knife up, this time at his assailant's groin.

1d6 ⇒ 6 About friggin' time.

Pox ridden Whorespawn Velaris grunts as the bullet bounces off the armour he hid in his jacket. he had more expected to use that to deflect shards of Leviathan bone, on the chance of a miscast ritual. Really didn't want to have to use armour, down to 3 load, he throws another knife, this one aimed at the shoulder of A$&&*%& Hutch, before darting forward to drive another one of the knives into his gut. just for recordkeeping, wht is the position/effect of attacking a guy with an unloaded pistol? if it is risky, I'll trade position for effect. twice if it is controlled.

Skirmish, which is only 1 die, actually. mea culpa: 1d6 ⇒ 5

skirmish: 2d6 ⇒ (3, 1) = 4 Frickin' Yay

Okay, so my plan is to, like, drop to the ground, roll, come up at a crouch that ti=urns into a leap-sprint toward the guy, maybe with a knife throw in there to put him off balance, and to snatch away the charm. what roll would that be? finesse, skirmish, prowl?

Awesome

Velaris speaks with the voice of Constellations as he exits the sanctuary. Obey me, Spirit. he says, calling forth one of the ghosts loose in the hideout. as it ppers he said Seek out the intruders, and drain them of their life essence

attune (compel): 3d6 ⇒ (1, 6, 6) = 13

with that, Velaris joins the ghost in seeking out the intruders

not usually, but maybe they would be attracted to the ritual?

Marked. are there any ghosts here?

I think it is a group action(braces for impact)

Totally forgot their names

If you two have copeted the prep with the Sparkwright devices He looks over and nods approvingly when he sees they have I would ask that you inscribe, where I have marked it with chalk, the Stallion of Falitak, whilst I begin on the Serpent of Cabtorat He indicates Smooth lines, like a painters brush. Halthar finds those most pleasing. Try to make it a mirror of the images above He gestures to the ceiling of their sanctum, adorned with the most beautiful arrangements of the cosmos as they were

is this still attune? I'd love it if it was!: 3d6 ⇒ (2, 1, 3) = 6 well... Frick

If this isn't Attune, I don't know what is: 3d6 ⇒ (1, 6, 2) = 9

Isn't hutch timing this so all the murders? We'd ahve a timeeice synched with his

Using a specially prepared silver knife, Velaris is in the process of carving the five sacred constellations into the bone, whilst the acolytes fill 3 specialized spark devices with a mixture of leviathan blood, and special oils poured thrice over the Leviathan bone.

when the murders occur, the deices will be activated. in much the same way that the lightening wall keeps demons out of the Dusk (mostly), these will prevent the energy from dissipating, and allow it to be concentrated ad channeled through the inscribes constellations, attuning the artifact to Halthar's will.

oad: Heavy. he's not going anywhere, and he plans to stay safe

Yayyyyyy... wait a minute...

Oh, sweet, Velaris isn't on the "Prison-break crew. so, are we doing downtime between the two scores (basically, can I use Emaline to help the break in, or shall I cool my heels intil the murderin' starts (note: cool w/ either)

Cool... I thought I was doing the sacrifice in the jail... did I misunderstand?

How many of these guys are even left anymore... also, Do I get Tarkinos with me, or does he have another part in this plan?

Also, You said this was 2-3 scores... is that official, or just a complicated score?

1d6 ⇒ 3 sorry guys

Velaris prowls through the streets near the jail Felfiz had shown him, looking for a greycloak. this is, after all, their turf. what he needed was a sacrifice,a dn it was better to use a Greycloak. If he couldn't find one, A vagrant would have to do, though his preference was for an enemy.

Prowl: 2d6 ⇒ (2, 1) = 3 and that's the story of the time The Greycloaks found Velaris on laudanum, and kicked his teeth in

screw it, gonna train resolve. mark off another coin, and then I'm done

if we need to burn more coin, I'd love to get that third dot in attune, both for compel, and rituals.

Velaris slinks down to madame Tessaryns. he needs a friggin' drink

relieve stress: 1d6 ⇒ 1

or 10

relieve stress: 1d6 ⇒ 2 G!!+#&nit

And then spends a day or so with various texts and occult talismen. filling out my last playbook xp to get compel I hope I get a lot of that.

let's get bribing!

Also, do we need to research that ritual Hutch is proposing? and is it our next score, or do we have a few downtimes to research it?

I hope that pleases Halthar. would you have me in your ritual sanctum, or making the sacrifice? Velaris says, letting Felfiz take the lead

what's our next score? are we gonna deal with the Greys? do that thing for the sashes? be weird cultists?

this last score would have been better to use Emaline on. also, do I tag out before or after downtime?

xp:

address a challenge with arcane power or knowledge: well, he tried 1 xp

Belief, drives and heritage: well, he acted like a scheming noble, briefly, before descending back into a stabby madman. he also was gonna throw lantern oil on the remaining greycloaks, and threaten to burn them if they didn't GTFO. empty threat, but they don't need to know that 1xp?

vice and traumas: nope

2 xp, I think

okay, what would it take, in terms of equipment, to get a jar of lamp oil?
