No one knows exactly where Vanellope von Schweets came from. She simply showed up in the halfling community on Absolom Station when she rented a small apartment in the halfling sector. As the Absolom Halfling population is very community-oriented, most of the halflings in the area immediately tried to accept her into the community. However, they soon discovered that von Schweets was a bit . . . odd. She was convinced that she was, in fact, in a massive multiplayer videogame. She insists that she is from a racing game, and that her best friend, Ralph, is from a 'retro fixing game.' She describes her technomagic abilities, as not magic, but 'glitching,' and refuses to believe otherwise.
Despite this strange belief, Vanellope is a rather upbeat and helpful halfing. She is willing to help out in the community, though she is strangely much more open to obvious augmentations than the average halfling. Eventually, she grew board with the typical halfling community life, and jumped at the chance when she discovered that the Starfinders were hiring, and has recently signed up with them.
