Favored weapon: proficient with Ragathiel's favored weapon, the bastard sword Fiendish Resistance: cold resistance 5, electricity resistance 5 and fire resistance 5 Fiendish Sprinter: +10 ft speed when using the charge, run or withdraw actions Maw or Claw: bite attack that deals 1d6 points of damage. This is a primary natural attack. Prehensile Tail: Can be used to carry items, cannot wield weapons but can use it to retrieve small, stowed objects carried as a swift action Track (Ex): A ranger adds half her level (minimum 1) to Survival skill checks made to follow tracks. Ranger combat style: Weapon and Shield Trapfinding: Adds 1/2 her level to Perception skill checks made to locate traps and to Disable Device skill checks. Can use Disable Device to disarm magic traps. Favored Enemy: A ranger selects a creature type from the ranger favored enemies table. He gains a bonus on Bluff, Knowledge, Perception, Sense Motive, and Survival checks against creatures of his selected type. Likewise, he gets a bonus on weapon attack and damage rolls against them. A ranger may make Knowledge skill checks untrained when attempting to identify these creatures.
Favored community (Fort Inevitable): While inside this community Valya receives +2 to initiative, Knowledge (local), Perception, Stealth, and Survival skill checks. She leaves no trail and cannot be tracked (although she may leave a trail if she so desires). Blessings: Destruction, Good (3 + 1/2 ranger level/day) 6x/day: Destructive Attacks (minor): At 1st level, you can touch an ally and bless it with the power of destruction. For 1 minute, the ally gains a morale bonus on weapon damage rolls equal to half your level (minimum 1). Holy Strike (minor): You can touch one weapon and bless it with the power of purity and goodness. For 1 minute, this weapon glows green, white, or yellow-gold and deals an additional 1d6 points of damage against evil creatures. During this time, it's treated as good for the purposes of overcoming damage reduction. This additional damage doesn't stack with the additional damage from the holy weapon special ability. Push Through (Ex): An urban ranger is never slowed by difficult terrain in his favored communities. In addition, he can move through the space occupied by local citizens as if they were allies. This does not apply to creatures intent on harming the ranger. Areas that are enchanted or magically manipulated to impede motion, however, still affect him. background:
Born in Daggermark and left at the door of a church, Valya had a hard start fighting for scraps with the other orphans in the care of the house of Cayden Cailean. She never starved, but because she was different she had a hard time making friends, and faced an impossible understanding for a child, in that she'd likely never be chosen by those looking to adopt. In her early teens, a fierce-looking man appeared at the door of the church swathed in crimson and steel, a harsh manner about him and a grimace on his face. The other children fled and yet Valya remained, watching as the priests of Cayden Cailean spoke to the man in a pleasant manner, greeting him as a comrade despite his demeanour. Seeing her watching him, the man looked Valya over and asked why she had not run away like the others had. After thinking for but a moment she replied simply 'It's my duty to watch the door this day'. The man grinned, and then asked if she might consider visiting him at the shrine to Ragathiel. Never having been asked anywhere before, Valya leapt at the chance. Over the next few years she spent increasingly more time with the priest, finding her own views matched by the tenets of Ragathiel's faith. Taken under his wing, she found he worked on behalf of both Ragathiel and a coalition of lesser nobles working to bring honor and chivalry back to the world. Always conducting herself honorably, with grace and virtue, and now as the priest's formally adopted daughter, Valya earned her place in both the Sovereign Court and the hierarchy of the church of Ragathiel. Valya began walking the River Kingdoms, becoming an instrument of justice and seeking vengeance on other folk's behalf, where they could not do so themselves. Though she returns to Daggermark every few months, Valya has recently been drawn to Fort Inevitable, something telling her that she needs to be present and patient, then her path will become clear... Valya always seems to look like she is standing in sunlight, her appearance constantly bright and warm. She has shoulder- length, wavy black hair that tends to escape being tied back and forms a rough halo around her head mid combat. She has amber colored eyes and is nearly always smiling. Her breastplate is well maintained but very scuffed, and the handle of the bastard sword jutting over her shoulder looks well worn. Her pale wrists are covered in swirling black tattoos. Equipment:
