Well, my PFS number is: # 78774. Don't have an original character. Do you know where I can see about finding a 1st-level scenario?
Valeros, patched up quite a bit from the harrowing fight just moments ago, follows Daxter out of the shrine and back to Palin's Cove. Following their report to Gerhard, he'll ask, "So, before we left to go do some vampire slayin', I said that I needed a house infiltrated for faction business. Anyone willin' to help me out with that?"
Valeros staggers after his companions, gratefully accepting the blessed stake from Pallas and moving to the nearest unoccupied coffin. He makes sure his aim is on, and then does as Pallas directs, stabbing the vampire in the heart and then lopping its head off with his +2 longsword and pouring the holy water on it.
Valeros' giant form slumps against the wall, pulling out a flask and hurriedly drinking it as he shrinks.
He manages to cure enough of his wounds so that even after shrinking he remains standing, but Valeros' position is precarious. "So are we gonna finish those guys or what? 'Sides, I thought they told us to gather info, not kill all of em...Right? Not that I'm disagreeing with killin' em."
Do arrows count as stakes for the purpose of killing vampires permanently, or do we need to find a body of running water or something?
Valeros roars (silently, of course) and charges the older male vampire.
I'm at six hit points.
Valeros is hurting. Badly. In a desperate last-ditch attempt to kill the vampire, he swings his swords yet again, knowing his comrades would be exposed to greater danger as soon as he falls.
Valeros grits his teeth in pain and frustration - his fortitude was failing him bit by bit and these vampires didn't seem to be getting any closer to dying. Still, he had a mission to do. Raising his blades again, he swings them with intense speed.
Valeros yells soundlessly and swings his blades still more at Kostya.
Valeros calls to his companions, "What are we to do? These vampires are tenacious!" He then angrily swings his massive blades at Kostya in an attempt to bring her down, cautiously grateful for the aid from the skeletal demon.
Valeros sneers, lifts his now massive blades, and swings mercilessly at the female vampire.
Bleeding from the neck, growing more and more nervous by the moment, Valeros pulls out a flask and then gulps down a potion of enlarge person, his head swiftly pushing up over a growing body. "How do you like me now, you undead sons of other undead?"
Valeros struggles wordlessly at the restraints, widening his eyes in horror at the creature pulling out his very life's blood.
Valeros curses at the negative energy and the mounting numbers of vampires. "Damn these undead bastards! Will they ever stop?" Valeros grits his teeth, runs to the vampire 'Talich', and swings a sword swipe.
"Are y'all alright? Pallas, you look downright AWFUL. Vampires in here, too?"
Valeros smiles at the vampire being defeated, but still is cautious. "We ought to hurry up with this one and then follow that mist!"
Valeros bares his teeth in frustration. These vampires were going to be going down, damn their unholy fortitude!
Valeros narrows his eyes, then grins a bit. "If sharing a foe doesn't make us friends, I'm not sure what will." He swings his swords brutally, one arm alternating with the other, at Charito until she goes down.
"Thanks...friend. Wouldn't know what to do without ya." With that, Valeros spins around, drawing his blades and swinging a longsword at Charito, yelling "Hey, get offa him and pick on someone your own size!"
To his companions, Valeros whispers again. "Listen, you guys, we need to keep the more valuable folks around. Pallas is much more so than I, and I believe that I can take whatever punishment that they have for me. Daxter is "most worthy", but allow me to be the least worthy." If there is agreement, Valeros steps forward bravely. "I am the weakest one here. My companions are well off without me."
"Ow." Valeros drinks a potion of serious wounds to relieve his burns, and then looks around at his new surroundings.
Valeros knows he's one of the toughest members of the group, and if his fortitude is being tested...well, that wasn't acceptable!
Valeros whispers to his companions, "I will volunteer to go first, to make sure it is safe for the rest of you" Even if bodyguard is his role, that's still essentially why he's there in reality. "I will go at my Master's command." Valeros says in an exaggeratedly dumb voice.
Quite the setup...i guess bein an evil cultist has got perks? Valeros looks around suspiciously at the area, but keeps on Daxter's back.
Valeros hunches his back, tries to hide his face, and follows closely behind Daxter as they tail the lantern-bearing cultist.
Valeros nods. "I'll play along...Strong n' silent only suits me halfway, but I can do it in a pinch." He thanks Pallas for the robes when the Kelish man returns, and finds them to be slightly tight on him. Good. It'll highlight his muscles. Valeros is ready.
"Have we got a plan at all for what we do once we're IN the cult? I don't much like the idea of being surrounded by evil cultists without a goal."
To the others, Valeros says "What was that about restoring his sight...? Can't we do that?"
"I think Pallas' plan is a good one. I hope this guy didn't do anything crazy to get into the crazy-house, but I think the mission is important enough to take the risk."
Valeros crosses his arms and snaps impatiently. "He's meaning that when he goes to sleep, he literally dreams about his mother. Am I right, little man?"
Valeros keeps a lookout for attendants approaching - he doesn't want anyone intruding on Pallas and Tomasz's conversation at this key phase.
"He's a wizard-mercenary or somesuch, and somebody's nervous that his services are being bought right now. A power play by Korvosa, if I remember right. I just need to make sure that he isn't being purchased, and if he is, do something about it. About his relationship with the family, I am unsure. It shouldn't be too difficult to find out, should it?"
Valeros is uncharacteristically quiet as he and Harsk visit the "customs officer" about the bribery and is somewhat stumped as to what to do about getting in to see the arms dealer.
Back at the group meet-up, Valeros goes to Pallas first. "So Harsk and I found a guy we've been contracted to look for, but I'm somewhat doubtful of either of our abilities' to get in and talk to him...you're the one I thought of first. Word has it he's staying with the Ireni family, and I'd like a word with him...Think you can make it happen?" --
"Oh, yes, sorry about that. Harsk, yes." Valeros scratches his chin. "Yeah, they went on a separate errand. I figure, if we've all got stuff to do, then we should be doin' it all at the same time. We don't have forever, you know?"
To Harsk, "Hey dwarf, I'm going to go out again, looking for this Maro fellow. Want to come with?" Either way, Valeros will head straight for the docks to ask about any recent arrivals. When he arrives, he'll approach the quartermaster, or whomever is in charge, and say "Hey. I'm looking for a certain someone due to arrive here. Has a guy named Maro passed through recently?"
"Uh." Valeros stratches his head, somewhat embarrassed. "Sorry, I didn't. Are we sure he's even in town yet?"
Valeros is thoroughly frustrated by how easy it was to distract him and with a huff walks off towards the rendezvous point.
"Well, thanks anyway. I'll just find out on my own." If Daxter seems secure on his own when out on the town, Valeros will go to the docks. He'll ask about any scheduled future arrivals or recent past arrivals that contained or contain a notable individual.
If Daxter asks for him to stay, however, he will. He is, after all, playing the role of guard. Valeros will also return to Daxter when he's done inquiring if he ended up leaving him.
"Another question, old man. Do you know anything about one Quintius Maro? I've heard he came to Palin's Cove recently and wish to know what he's up to." Valeros will follow Daxter as he leaves. Even if his guard persona is just a guise, he still has an interest in keeping the man safe. If Valeros is being honest with himself, the man doesn't seem too tough.
Valeros crosses his arms in front of his chest. "And what exactly is it that they do?"
awesome. It's exceedingly obvious that Valeros has disdain in bushels for the man he supposedly works for.
or* not are. I actually made my first PFS character. Lemme know what you guys think.
