![]() Hello there Paizo Boardians, I was hoping to get some information on various locations around there, Goka, Kaoling, Quain, and Lingshen especially. Looking at this map http://fc06.deviantart.net/fs71/f/2012/329/3/d/fan_made_golarion_map_by_cru nkrogers-d5l4hkt.jpg I see a few...interestingly named Locations, such as
I figure the Emperor's Footprint is some sort of crevass, the Cradle of Immortality a temple of some sort, and the House of 1,000 silks to be some sort of massive Brothel. I'm also hoping one of you has a more detailed and inclusive map of the area so I have a bit more to work with before I start brewing up my own locations. So is there anything I should know about this area? Books to read, important names to know, local monsters? Is The Iron Mountain an area for Dwarves? The Dragon Shrine a kobold or Dragon Disciple controlled area? What sorts of names do the Hobgoblins of Kaoling have, and how do they get along with their neighbors? I'm assuming "Mongol" and "Like Mongols" but... I should be able to fill in the gaps myself but any help is appreciated. ![]()
![]() I'm playing a Witch in my current Friday game and am running into an alignment conflict with my friend's Zen Archer Monk. I think he's either LG or LN, but either way he constantly comes to (thankfully verbal) blows with my N character's questionable methods. I regularly summon demons, use spells like "Dominate Person" or "Fleshworm Infestation" and he threatens to kill my character ICly. I don't really like PvP, but I feel that my Witch would take issue with this. Basically, I want help preparing spells and items that will help me defend against a high saving throw, high AC ranged Monk with several magical bows. I figure some way to ruin his full attack would be best, and then suppress the magic on his Bow Of Wonder would help(Artifact level weapon that fires off a level 2-4 evocation spell once a turn).
The problem is that he has a bloated AC through Mage Armor(Wand), Barkskin(Qiggong), and a very good Wisdom and Dexterity, not to mention his naturally high saving throws and the fact he's a dwarf. We're both level 9, but I have an amulet that lets me cast one spell of a higher level or two more of my current highest level spells so I do have a distinct advantage with one 6th level spell. I have pretty good DC's(Int 24 with buffs) but still, he's a dwarf. I seek not to KILL him, but just cripple him and survive the first two rounds of flurry of blows. My character also refuses to stop using those nefarious spells. It's what she does. ![]()
![]() Hello there everybody! My DM is soon going to have an epic campaign starting at level 12, and we've been asked to come up with a good backstory to go along with these characters. I've decided to play a Dwarven Bard with bagpipes and a twohander to fight with, and selected the Arcane Duelist Archetype. I'm trying to figure out the best feets to use on this character Power Attack is obvious, and I get Arcane Strike and the Disruptive line as free feats, but otherwise I'm at a loss. The Step up line seems to be a good idea given that I have the disruptive feats, but I also was considering getting Exotic Wep proficiency and grabbing the Fauchard as a reach weapon. Currently my stats are 18 STR (16+2 from levels)
I was also considering prestiging into battle herald(can't have a mount so standard bearer cavalier archetype) but I would have even less of an idea how to build that. Any feat ideas? Maybe even backstory ideas? Any and all help would be appreciated. So far I can say he's visually based on the Scotsman from Samurai Jack, down to the Crossbow-leg and rune covered weapon. ![]()
![]() Reading through the playtest I must say it's really interesting and a LOT more comprehensive and flavorful than 3.5's epic levels. I just have one issue. The word "Mythic" pops up hundreds of times. Constantly. Everywhere. I know this is the name of the book but really there's a lot of similar words that can be found in a Thesaurus. A good example of what I'm talking about is the feat "Mythic Paragon (Mythic)" Mythic is already part of the feat's name(as with all Mythic feats) and "Mythic Paragon" could be called "Legendary Paragon" or "Unstoppable Paragon" or "Dwarven Paragon". Some other word that denotes badassery would really be appreciated in some of these cases, it just makes the reading a bit easier. When I'm looking at my character sheet and I see four feats in a row that say "Mythic [Blank]" I'm going to get confused for a little bit, but if I see "Paragon of Badassery" and "Supreme Spells" I'll know what I'm looking at immediately. Something that may come out of this is that the word mythic itself starts to sound boring like "Awesome" or heck, "Epic". If you hold the reigns on that word it will still retain its power to the reader and the player, but if you have the word on every single ability instead of something else flavorful and interesting it will get tiring and old. I hope I don't sound preachy, I will buy this book even if the word count includes 90% "Mythic", it's just a minor point of frustration for me. |
