Female Elf Bard 5 (hp: 32/32, AC: 18, FF 16, T 13)

Trellara approaches you while you are packing and preparing to leave.

"I have come to tell you goodbye. I am sorry to tell you this, but I will not be joining you on the next stage of your journey. I just want to say thank you for all you have done for me. You believed in me when I was feeling vulnerable and lost and although I am still grieving for the loss of my brother, I am content knowing that there are people out there like you who will see that justice is served! I hope you find that Ghostlord you are looking for and smite him down like you did the dragon. When this is all over, please come back in visit me. I have much to do here on Starsong Hill and I know the Tiri Kitor will need me, especially with the hunters leaving the area. I will remember you always! Thanks!"

Tears gently run down Trellara's face and she brushes them aside as she rushes up to give each of you a parting embrace.

"So, I hope that answers your question. I wish that my gnomish blood would allow me to fully partake in your festivities, but, unfortunately the weight of what comes next weighs heavily on my soul."

"I am so sorry, Tirion. I have not seen this Red Hand and I had no idea that they had become quite so dangerous and powerful. I should realize that they are a threat to more than just us elves. Although the actions of you and your friends have avenged my brother and saved our village here in the blackfens, it really a small thing compared to what the Red Hand is capable of doing."

"Today, I was terrified of that black dragon, the ogres, and the razorfiends. I cannot imagine facing an entire army of those creatures. The thought is too terrifying for me. I suppose if Brindol falls, then even we here in the Blackfens will not be safe."

"I feel so bad that you have so much worry on your mind when my people are all celebrating and expressing such joy. I have never met a dark skinned gnome before, but you are very different from everything I've ever heard of gnomes. You may not laugh and play tricks, but I think you are an extremely selfless gnome. You have sacrificed so much for others and you do it with no thought of reward or self gain."

Trellara stops for a moment to reflect and then quite spontaneously she reaches over and gives you a kiss upon your cheek. "Thanks for being such a kind friend to me, Tirion."

They have taken a mighty blow today, all thanks to you and your friends. Although I am still saddened at the loss of my brother, I feel a weight lifted off of my shoulders. Why are you so quiet?"

Female Elf Bard 5 (hp: 32/32, AC: 18, FF 16, T 13)

"Greetings, Killiar! These adventurers were amazing! They fought ettins and ogres, a mindbender, the wyrmlord, and his dragon! They fought with remarkable courage and will be heroes of this village for many years to come. We will never forget what they have done for us!"

Female Elf Bard 5 (hp: 32/32, AC: 18, FF 16, T 13)

"If you are all finished here, I will gladly help you load up the boats. I think I am ready to return home now."

Trellara helps however she can, but follows everybody else's lead on deciding when everyone is ready to depart.

"Please, my friends, you must all come back to Starsong Hill with me before you venture any further south. My people will be delighted to hear of your success and relieved knowing that you have destroyed the black dragon and the wyrmlord! Need I also mention that they will be pleased to hear that I am still alive. Besides, you will want a good rest with the comforts of our village before you continue with your travels."

"OK then, ladies and gents. shall we look around for any more evildoing monsters to slay, or head back for Trellara's triumphant return as a Dragonslayer???"

Trellara blushes slightly at the halflings remark. "Oh Boufs! I did very little to help slay the dragon! That was all of your work! All I could try and do was inspire you with song while I was trembling with fright within! I'm just glad I got to witness some remarkable heroes in action while my brother was avenged!"

"Agreed, Edvard! The hatchlings did not seem as powerful, but I hated seeing what they grew up to be! I am not a strong swimmer, but if you asked, I would climb in and do what I could to find any remaining eggs."

Female Elf Bard 5 (hp: 32/32, AC: 18, FF 16, T 13)

Trellara steps back and stands at Edvard's side. "I'm content to just watch and not get involved in this task. It is nice to see them having fun, but do you think anything bad could come from this scene?"

Female Elf Bard 5 (hp: 32/32, AC: 18, FF 16, T 13)

Bofus wrote:
" Yeah, there are two hatclings--oen of them has an arrow sticking out of them, how odd??--and a buch of eggs. I thought the more heavily armored, bigger folk could lead the way and swing heavy things at them . . ."

"You saw two hatchlings? Do you mean the razorfiends? That is the wretched creature that took down my brother, Lanikar, and his owl, Loki! Are we going to destroy them now? I do hope we rid this place of all the fiends that inhabit our marsh!"

Female Elf Bard 5 (hp: 32/32, AC: 18, FF 16, T 13)
Bofus wrote:
Why don't I go scope out the razorfiend pen?

"I'll come with you Bofus. I promise not to follow too closely."

Trellara follows Bofus, but stays at the top of the stairs on the roof and watches the halfling approach the Razorfiend pens.

Stealth 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (13) + 8 = 21

How does that halfling sneak like that? If I didn't know better, I would not even realize that he was there!

"Thordak, you made it! You were under there a long time! I was worried that something happened to you. Thank Desna that you are all right!"

Female Elf Bard 5 (hp: 32/32, AC: 18, FF 16, T 13)

"Wait, Edvard! What are you trying to say? Are you saying that this phylactery belongs to the Ghostlord? Oh Desna, I had no idea that they had recruited a lich to aid their cause!"

Knowledge, Religion 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (9) + 5 = 14

"Tirion, I am not sure how much you know about liches, but if we destroy this phylactery, I do not think that it will destroy the lich as well. It only prevents it from coming back to undeath if it is killed. Regardless of whether we destroy the phylactery or not, I am not sure that we could destroy the ghostlord in the first place! I know I had doubts about all of you destroying the dragon, but from what I understand, a lich is another level of evil altogether! I may have some healing pwers, but I am far from being a cleric that could actually inflict any sort of damage upon the undead fiend!"

Female Elf Bard 5 (hp: 32/32, AC: 18, FF 16, T 13)

"Thank Desna that it is done! I was so scared trying to sing that I almost choked up! At last it is now over!" Trellara confesses with tears in her eyes. "You really are heroes! I knew you could do it! Just wait until the Tiri Kitor hear the news! Songs will be sung and stories told of your feats for generations to come!"

Round 1

Trellara immediately begins try to find her voice and sing something inspirational in the corner as the dragon appears.

Bardic performance 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (2) + 9 = 11

However, her voice shakes and sounds frightened and lacks much of that beauty that you know she is capable of.

Female Elf Bard 5 (hp: 32/32, AC: 18, FF 16, T 13)

"Didn't mean any harm?! Your savage little razorfiend slaughtered my brother and mutilated his owl! He was one of the greatest hunters of Starsong Hill, and you are telling me that your dragonspawn meant no harm?! I have no doubt that he was ripped to shreds and digested in acid!"

Tears begin to stream down the elf's face as she begins shouting at the hobgoblin.

"You and the Red Hand are going to pay the price for your hatred and cruetly! Don't you dare ever tell me that they just get a little hungry sometimes! You spawned a deadly beast that is meant to destroy other races and that will no longer be tolerated. I do not see any reason to show you any mercy. You didn't show any mercy to my brother when you created that wretched fiend!"

Female Elf Bard 5 (hp: 32/32, AC: 18, FF 16, T 13)

Trellara looks at the creature and asks it, "Who killed my brother Lanikar and why did they do it?"

Female Elf Bard 5 (hp: 32/32, AC: 18, FF 16, T 13)

"Mantooth," the elf exclaims, "What are you doing? Oh dear Desna, you hit some creature with your sword. How did you know it was there?"

Trellara then pulls out her own sword in the hope of defending herself.

Female Elf Bard 5 (hp: 32/32, AC: 18, FF 16, T 13)

Round 3

Trellara steps closer to the doorway and continues singing the most beautiful song that lifts your spirits despite the wicked evil attacks you.

"If you say so, Tirion. After killing all of these ogres and two headed giants, I am starting to think that nothing is impossible to you guys! Aren't you worried that something is going to get you eventually?"

Female Elf Bard 5 (hp: 32/32, AC: 18, FF 16, T 13)

Round 2

Trellara stands behind Bofus and begins singing. Soft long tones that grow into a most remarkable elven song that transports the soul to another level.

"Maybe Mantooth would stay with you; I don't know that he has much of a mind for engineering anyway. I'd not shout if I were you--come down and warn us straight away if you see it!"

"That will be fine, Bofus. If that is what you need me to do, then I'll do it, but make sure you come and get me if I can be of any further help to you."

Turning to the paladin, she asks, "Sir Mantooth, will stay on watch with me?"

Female Elf Bard 5 (hp: 32/32, AC: 18, FF 16, T 13)
Bofus wrote:
"Alright folks, I want to take advantage of the time we have here. Trellara, keep a keen eye out for an approaching dragon, won't you luv?"

"I can keep an eye out for the dragon for you, Bofus, but what should I do if I see it? Should I come running down the stairs to tell you or should I simply shout out a warning? I am still worried about the Wyrmlord catching us! I'm also not fond of the idea of being left up here all alone."

Female Elf Bard 5 (hp: 32/32, AC: 18, FF 16, T 13)

Trellara turns around, draws her blade, and attempts to strike at the Ogre.

Longsword 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5
Damage 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (11) - 1 = 10

Unfortunately, she is unable to get a good grasp on her weapon and she misses the giant entirely.

Damage 1d8 ⇒ 4

"That's for Lanikar! Now prepare to die!"

Female Elf Bard 5 (hp: 32/32, AC: 18, FF 16, T 13)

Round 1

Trellara nervously pulls forth an arrow from her quiver and pulls her bow string back to her ear. Trembling in anticipation she aims at the G-28 ogre and releases the arrow.

"I'm sorry, Thordak. I was not sure how long you were going to be up there shooting and I did not want to leave you stranded there all alone. Was that too risky? Perhaps we should always stick with a partner?"

Female Elf Bard 5 (hp: 32/32, AC: 18, FF 16, T 13)

"Move over Tirion! I'm not staying here in a boat all by myself. I'm going with you."

Trellara ties up her boat against the building and leaves it for Thordak and then climbs into Tirion's boat.

Acrobatics Check 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (2) + 6 = 8

"Stop rocking the boat you crazy gnome!"

Stealth 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (19) + 8 = 27

Trellara remains absolutely silent as she hangs precariously between the two boats. Finally she tries again to board the sorcerer's boat.

Acrobatics Check 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (16) + 6 = 22

At last she pulls herself into the boat safely.

"Phew! That was close!"

Female Elf Bard 5 (hp: 32/32, AC: 18, FF 16, T 13)

"Enough of this sitting around crying! I agree with Edvard! We will not get anywhere if we at least don't have the courage to try! Now, who will lead me onward to avenge my brother, Lanikar?! Let's hit the boats and strike them in the heart when they least expect it, right in the middle of the day! Come on, Thordak, you're in my boat again!"

Trellara proceeds through the building to the room with the elven boats and prepares to lay the Luvatar into the lake again.

Thordak wrote:
"Hey, c'mon now Tralala! Oi know it's dangerous, an' Oi know its ah...dangerous...but has that ever stopped anybody?"

"I know you are right, Thordak! I am just so frustrated. This is not going as I planned at all."

Trellara stands up and brushes the tears from her eyes.

"If the Dragon is away hunting, then maybe this is the best time to approach their lair and find out what they are really up to! Maybe we will be able to disrupt whatever they are scheming! What do you say, Master Longbrow? Are you going to lead us in the attack?"

Female Elf Bard 5 (hp: 32/32, AC: 18, FF 16, T 13)

Trellara begins pacing back and forth working herself up in a panic.

What was I thinking trying to avenge my brother? What kind of a fool was I? These folks mean well, but what can they do against such overwhelming evil?

Finally, the young elf sits down in the corner as tears slowly stream down from her eyes and she sinks her head into her hands.

Female Elf Bard 5 (hp: 32/32, AC: 18, FF 16, T 13)
Mantooth wrote:
"That would also be putting Trellara directly in harms way, even though we promised her people we would do no such thing."

"Thank you, Sir Longbrow!" Trellara replies, "I want revenge on the horde for killing my brother! I am not here to simply turn myself in! They would likely kill me on sight as they did my brother!"

Female Elf Bard 5 (hp: 32/32, AC: 18, FF 16, T 13)

"So what do we do in the meantime, Thordak? And what do you propose we do with that dragon on our roof?"

Female Elf Bard 5 (hp: 32/32, AC: 18, FF 16, T 13)

"Oh dear Desna! The dragon is on the roof above us?!" Trellara whispers nervously. "How did the creature find us?! I want to live long enough to strike down the enemy. It was not suppose to end like this!"

Female Elf Bard 5 (hp: 32/32, AC: 18, FF 16, T 13)
Thordak wrote:
"Oi'll tell ye wot: if we get outta here alive, Oi'll make ye a nice axe an' teach ye to swing it!"

"You can't possibly think that I will be able to lug a big axe like that around do you? No, I have a rapier that will serve me much better. It may not be as big as your axe, but it much more elegant and it still has a sharp little bite of its own. I just need to practice using it a bit more!"

Female Elf Bard 5 (hp: 32/32, AC: 18, FF 16, T 13)
Tirion wrote:
"What magic and abilities do you posses Trellara? Are you good with the bow, or your rapier? Can you make us stronger or harder to find?"

"Well, I'm not really very good at much, but I have a strong desire to do something great. I've shot a bow before, but I'm not very good at it. I may be able to inspire you with a song. Sometimes my music gets a lot of attention and is appreciated by others. I think Desna has always wanted me to sing. However, please don't ask me to try and hide you. I wouldn't trust my powers to do that."

Female Elf Bard 5 (hp: 32/32, AC: 18, FF 16, T 13)

Perception 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (15) + 6 = 21

"Oh Great Dreamer, protect us! Did you see that black dragon and that hideous little beast riding upon it?! I want it killed, but I'm not sure how to even start! I know you folks are brave and all, but I am starting to see why Sellyria does not send our hunters in. It would simply be a suicide run! What hope do we have against such wretched evil? What are we suppose to do now?!"

"You were knighted by Lord Jarmaath? Isn't he the high lord of all of the Elsir Vale? Well, I know that elves would not pay him allegiance, but he must be a very important man for your people."

DMHW wrote:

"I have no idea, Master Tirion. It looks rather deep. From looking at those building I would say the water level appears up to the second floor. Perhaps it is about fifteen feet deep. Maybe more in parts. I hope you are not planning to swim in the water with a Black Dragon lurking in it?"

Mantooth wrote:
"Was any effort made to replace the dam and try to recover the city?"

"Sir Longbrow, I do not claim to be an expert by any means, but from what I understand, no. I think after nearly three hundred years of Rhestilar's glory, a combination of corruption, treachery and civil strife weakened the kingdom to such an extent that it was unable to withstand the horde and ever recover from that tragic day. The goblins were just too strong and the people of Rhestilar were just too scattered. Even now, years later, the lizardfolk and the goblinoids still have a strong presence over this entire region. We elves only manage to survive because of our great hunters and good defenses."

Trellara pauses for a moment in thought. Then she continues, "Thinking about goblinoids does make me wonder if Brindol will fare any better than Rhest when it comes to fighting off a horde!"

"So where do you come from, Sir Longbrow? Are you from Brindol yourself?"

Female Elf Bard 5 (hp: 32/32, AC: 18, FF 16, T 13)

"I can't believe I am actually paddling out into the old city of Rhest! This use to be the old capital city of the kingdom of Rhestilor. Did you know that it was the center of civilization in the region for miles and miles?! Its rule extended far to the east, west and south. I'm not sure I know my history very well, but I think it was probably about two hundred years ago that the city was sacked by the last great goblinoid uprising. The defenders of the city made the decision to destroy the levees that held back the waters of the Stonewash River. As a result, they flooded the city and drowned the horde in the process. In the aftermath, the survivors abandoned their homes and resettled in Dennovar, Brindol and similar communities to the south. For the the last two centuries this place has been slowly sinking into the sodden Blackfens."

Female Elf Bard 5 (hp: 32/32, AC: 18, FF 16, T 13)

Trellara paddles hard on the port side and steers the luvatar sharply to the starboard side and lands the bow of the boat at A17.

"Paddle harder, Thordak. We are going against the current here!"

The young elf whispers loudly!

"Well, Thordak, if you are going to shoot it, you better do it from here, because I'm not going to get us any closer to that thing, if you don't mind. Sellyria Starsong has a crocodile and I've seen it take creatures down in a death roll! That is one dangerous foe!! Suddenly out of nowhere it can leap at you with a mouthful of jagged teeth and crush you with its massive jaws like a stick of wood! All I am saying is don't underestimate the beast! It looks lazy when it pretends to be a log, but that could be your death in an instant!"

Thordak wrote:
"Oh, right!--Crossbow! 'Scuse me fer a moment!"

"What are you doing now?" The young elf asks innocently. "What should I do? Should I take out my bow now?"
