Level 1 Sentient Jelly

Welcome!

Level 1 Sentient Jelly

Hello!

My phone ran out of data on Monday. It has made posting at work impossible. Data comes back on Sunday. Sporadic posting until then from me.

Feel totally free to bot Virgil if need be, by the way.

I think he actually has Elathras beaten for Perception checks for traps these days (provided Tracy is with him)!

Level 1 Sentient Jelly

Was the party on it's way back to the dungeon before running into this sheriff?

Level 1 Sentient Jelly

Does what have to happen at midnight? Just post whenever!

Level 1 Sentient Jelly

Already done. We gotta get back in there!

Level 1 Sentient Jelly

Alright, I took the initiative and assumed that Virgil signed up with this Sheriff and has been helping patrol the roads after his amnesia.

Hope this works ok!

Level 1 Sentient Jelly

I guess you'll just have to spend it all on gifts for the rest of the party then! A +1 Composite (+4) Longbow for me please. =P

Level 1 Sentient Jelly

For... dungeons?

Virgil could have been at the fort and decided to join us. Remember were underground, so I don't know how comfortable your hawk will be.

That's sort of why I picked a bird. She's not gonna get stuck the first time we get to a rope ladder or tight cave. She might not be happy dungeon delving, but then again, neither is Virgil!

Level 1 Sentient Jelly

Mort I think you can take the regular WBL for Balin. It's the rest of us stuck with what we had.

Level 1 Sentient Jelly

Halfway down the first page of recruitment Brv listed some. Idk which are for players though

Level 1 Sentient Jelly

Could I get a quick recap on what the party's done recently?

At the moment I'm thinking Virgil went into a Fugue state and forgot who he was after the run-in with the dam-thing. Maybe he's working with this Sheriff as a hired hand?

Also, any favored enemy suggestions?

Level 1 Sentient Jelly

Well, if Mort runs a cleric and Robert stays Elathras, what else do we need? A stronger frontline? A Full BAB class then?

Level 1 Sentient Jelly

You sure? Wouldn't mind?

Level 1 Sentient Jelly

Aaaah, pressure!

Good to hear you're feeling better Brv.

I'm a little reluctant to roll up a cleric; now I'm playing one in an RL game too. How do you feel about the Shaman class Brv?

Level 1 Sentient Jelly

Any word on what the other players are interested in running Brv?

Level 1 Sentient Jelly

More people? Maybe I won't lock in to cleric just yet then. Options!

Level 1 Sentient Jelly

Do you guys think I'll need positive channeling? If not, could I take one of the variant channels from UM Brv?

Hmm, probably need to be halfway decent in melee too then. I'll cook something up and bounce it off Brv.

But never-mind about me, How are things on your end?

Yeesh. Hopefully things settle down for you!

Everything's cool on my end, getting married next fall (the planning stress hasn't really kicked in yet), and my fiancee finished school this summer. Good stuff!

Level 1 Sentient Jelly

Oh, sweet. Maybe Caan'll work then. I might still reroll anyway.

Anyway. Hey guys, it's been a while! How are you?

Level 1 Sentient Jelly

Although if I do run Caan, what's the plan for traps/locks? Maybe we need a different sort of cleric?

Level 1 Sentient Jelly

I can bring Caan in if that helps!

Hey, this is Tomato Jam.

I'm finding myself with considerably less free time than before. My posting rate is getting pretty bad, and it looks like it's just going to get worse from here.

So I'm bowing out.

Thanks for a great time, It's been really fun!

Level 1 Sentient Jelly

Tomato here. Sorry about the absence, my new position leaves me with very little free time (none) at work, which is when I used to do most of my posting. I'm hoping it settles down some in a few weeks.

Oh, I'll probably be out of action Friday-Sunday this week too.

lurker here. Dot!

Ok. I think I have a solid set of mechanics, working on a three-trait backstory now.

Is there a limit to how many archetypes we can stack on a character?

Gravy!

I do have another problem/question. The character I'm working on isn't some sort of gun savant or engineer (just your regular old dwarven gun enthusiast), but without Gunsmithing or Grit I can't see any way to clear a misfire. I'm not talking about a crazy fast in-combat one, just... in general. By the campfire, during downtime. Is there a way we could incorporate that? Would this trait (or something similar) work?

I think I almost have a character ready for submission.

Since the Lore Warden archetype is fair game, would you consider the freebooter archetype from PPC:ISP? Neither are from sources you listed, and both are entirely (Ex) until level 4...

Level 1 Sentient Jelly

Just did. My apologies: I wasn't aware that we had one.

Last minute thief application? I think I can do that. I've never played Dungeon World before, but I have played Apocalypse World. That was a riot. Sign me up!

Name: Boram Velvett
Race: Halfling
Class: Thief
Description: Boram is cheerful-looking Halfling - his short frame lithe and swarthy from years of work in the hot sun aboard the Jenivere. The stout little sailor usually wears an eyepatch over his left eye, keeps his dark curly hair trimmed short, and is rather fond of grog. Especially when it isn't his.

No time for a picture!

Backstory: Boram Velvett has been working on board the Jenivere since his youth, leaving the Sargavan slums and trying his very hardest not to look back. Since then, his life has been hard work and long hours up in the ship's rigging. Still better than the slums though. Over the years, the short little fellow has developed something of a reputation among the rest of the crew: more than a few drunken sailors have been heard throwing about the phrase "Smooth as Velvett" in admiration, jealousy, possibly even fear!

I don't have a character sheet ready, but it doesn't look very hard to put together. I should have the mechanics ironed out by this time tomorrow, if you'll have me.

@PensivePanther: Found you!

Dotting for interest. Drafting up character ideas, concepts, mechanics, etc.

Anything particularly lacking among the current applicants?

Dotting for interest. two posts a day (minimum) shouldn't be a problem.

Current concept is a spooky Gnome Hex Channeler Witch aiming for the Soul Warden Prestige class for level 7 onwards. Any early objections/input?

My character idea is a particularly unscrupulous Orc (or possibly a half-orc) that stole the identity of a dying knight he met on the road. As the story progresses he goes from being a liar and a thief to a good and honest knight (Skulking slayer/Scout Rogue and Gendarme Cavalier)
.
I'll have a character profile posted by tomorrow morning.

Apparently I misunderstood racial archetypes. This will definitely be a half-orc then.

Level 1 Sentient Jelly

I'm grabbing Studded leather. it's a -1 to Virgil's AC, but it's pretty hard to pass up the lack of armor penalty. Virgil's been shirking melee combat anyway.

Virgil'll contribute his Hide armor to the collective pot in its place.

Dot.

Level 1 Sentient Jelly

Oh man. I totally skimmed over finding that greataxe. Anyone else interested in that?

Besides that, the canoe, the longbow (Mitleid), the crossbow, the ponies, the compass, and maybe the scrollcase all seem worth keeping.

Level 1 Sentient Jelly

No points in either, I'm afraid. Mouse is all about self-discovery. Can he attempt to identify them himself?

Level 1 Sentient Jelly

I never understood the after 5th level bit. Can I start with the Loss subdomain from the APG?

What about the alternative racial traits (not race traits) from the APG?

Level 1 Sentient Jelly

Dot.

Level 1 Sentient Jelly

I have no idea why I though we leveled at 1000xp.

Desperation, I suppose.

Level 1 Sentient Jelly

Doesn't look like I can access Roll20 for another few hours.

Did we level up? My count is at 1000xp after that.

My condolences for Dolgrin.

Level 1 Sentient Jelly

Initiative: Virgil goooo!: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (11) + 3 = 14

Sounds convoluted and "Pretty Meta." Color me interested.

Level 1 Sentient Jelly

I second this motion.
