I grant that the enlightened Dhiara might be a suitable candidate, but having never met her I could not in good conscience recommend her.

While Bartrags actions were truly commendable, the sage we seek will have to guide people with knowledge and wisdom rather than engage in direct action. Granting Batrag the gem would either remove a stalwart hero from the field or expose an invaluable treasure to potential loss should one of his acts of heroism go awry.
