Backstory:
Thiran does not talk about his childhood, trying to keep it as mysterious as possible.
The truth is that it wasn't as dark and hard as one might believe of one as him. The earliest that is known is that he was found orphaned in the wildernes of the Menadour Mountains in Western Cheliax and lived his early years in an orphanage in Taggun Hold before being adopted by the merchant and wizard Korlin Silkenash.
While Korlin was allways kind to him and treatet him well he wasn't as such looking for a son but for a trusted servant and guard who could do some his less savory work for him, deeming the boys fiendish heritage a usefull tool. Thus he hadn't much warmth for hits "son", but taught Thiran much of his art and also arranged training at arms. Once Thiran came to age he indeed became the old mans most loyal and usefull friend, giving him councel, defending him against assasins and getting rid of some of Korlins enemies himself, using a blend of what he was taught and his inborn abilities. Despite everything some kind of father son relationship even begun to bloom between the two.
Then, two years ago Thiran failed to protect his adoptiv father as a group of three assasins penetratet the wards of the wizard's mansion and while one occupied the young man, the other two broke into Korlins study, slaying him and seting a blaze to the house before escaping unrecognized. While Thiran tried to find out who they were and where they came from he didn't have much luck.
As his inheritance, all in all a meakly sum as most went to Korlins blood relatives, was all but used up he at first tried to sell his labor legaly as a guard or the like. But all to quickly he had to realize that his ability to kill people was far more sought after than his skill in protecting them and thus after some time he started to take "comissions", essentially becoming an assasin for hire. In that time he also started to mark his victims both to honor his father and to make himself a reputation. He magically etchined a split staff, the symbol Koril used as his sigil, into their forehead, leading to him being called the marker.
Lately a now finished assignement lead him to Absalom. Now he is in this to him mostly new city looking for further work or other oportunities. While his hope to find them has slowly waned for the last years he is also always open for new hints regarding Korlins demise and hopes that one day his work brings him in contact with the assasins.

Appearance:
Thiran looks mostly like a especially pale human were it not for his queer, dark blue eyes and the small, black wing-stump protruding roughly one inch out of his back. While he usually hides the stumps under his long coat or with magic when no coat is available, the intangible wrongness of his eyes is less easy to hide. But while it often leads to people reacting negative to him they are subtle enough that most bystanders do not actively recognize them.
Besides those dominant features he is quite unremarkable, sporting black hair, a slightly croaked nose and a slender build.

Personality:
While Thiran is kind, polite and fiercely loyal he lacks almost all scruple. While no one has to fear to be to be stabbed by him for no reason or even in anger and he is not the type who would betray comrades or friends for money, he also isn't the person to ask "why" if someone asks him to discreetly dispose of someone else. And while he usually doesn't prolong someones suffering he feels a strange, primal joy seeing a marked victim first struggle for its live before accepting its fate.

Questions:

What does he bring to the Blood Knives: He is a strong fighter and knows a few magic tricks, but most of all he is good at killing people fast and then vanishing as fast as he came, using his magic to escape undetected, leaving only his mark behind. As he can easily change the mark that could be used to serve as warning for all that cross the Blood Knives and also as a tool to intimidate someone ("You have been marked, so help us now and we'll remove it or face the consequence. And know that we will find you.") Once he has a few more level he can do this even more effectively with the various curses he gets for beeing a Hexcrafter (read: Allmost all of them).
While he is no petty thief and lacks any mechanical skill whatsoever he did take a few personal or magical documents from his fathers enemies in the past and would have no problem doing it again.

Goals: His main goal is, as with most people to live his life as well as possible and dreaming of one day returning to Cheliax as a man of wealth and power at least rivaling that of his "father", having finally left the second class status Tieflings "enjoy" there behind. He is also still searching Korlins murderer and their employer.

When he gets caught: Usually he would try to escape using vanish and once out of sight to take a inconspicuous appearance using the Disguise Hex. Should that not be possible but his assailants seemingly manageable, he would try to kill them as fast and silent as possible before escaping. If his capture is inevitable he would usually just surrender, hoping for a chance to escape later on or if that would compromise people that have his loyalty fight to the death.
