So this new character I'm making is a tiefling sorcerer, named Acherus, and grandaddy was a contract devil.

So he's obviously running around with the infernal bloodline, but that's really all I've decided for him. The backstory is that he knows exactly who the devil is, as the contract his grandmother made was for the devil to help her produce a half fiend son, in return for the lifelong (and everafter) service of her grandson.

So Acherus, my character, has served his grandfather faithfully, if not begrudgingly, for the last 70 odd years. From good ol' grandad, he's picked some things up, such as becoming a master scribe, proficient in his style of combat with whips (as contract devils will use their contracts as such), and a reward for his faithful service.

Thing is, I can't decide/design exactly what this item would be. I was thinking some scroll like thing, but I have no idea what it would do. It wouldn't be a book, I'd think, as a spell book is irrelevant to a sorcerer, unless I'm mistaken. Any ideas, O wise and powerful message board?

So, to my so far limited understanding of the game as a new player, from what I've gathered:

Devils predate the creation of mortal life, and exist in hell. They are lawful, but thoroughly evil, and enjoy the corruption and enslavement of mortal souls.

Demons are made from the souls or mortals, and are the embodiments of their sins and vices, and exist in the abyss. They exist to destroy... Everything.

And daemons are just a mix?

If I'm wrong, I'd love to be corrected.

Also, where exactly do tieflings fit into this? Are they the progeny of demons, or devils? Or can it be either?

Honestly, how many of you have played prehistoric/underwater/underground campaigns?
And are they even fun?
I've seen so much in the books about them, and some of the stuff seems neat, but mostly they look like a hassle.
Any opinions?

So my 5th level ranger is entirely capable of killing a few giants singlehandedly.
This is obviously a little game breaking.
He's able to do so because he's a dire wereboar, and may shift into it at any moment.
I was thinking of taking that away somehow, such as the character allowing himself to be put under a dominate spell by a party member, or having some sort of equipment he carries around that's like a magic choke chain. Essentially, I'd like the party to control his transformations, as opposed to him saying "Well, I'm just going to turn every enemy thrown at me into red smears, and not let anyone else have some of the action."

Anyone have any ideas?

I like the idea of the limiting feature actually being a tangible thing. Like shackles, or a choker, something he'd probably be able to resent, but that he realizes is necessary.

So I'm relatively new to the game, and I decided I wanted my first real character to be something special. I got the okay from the DM to play a lycanthrope, as we'd be starting the campaign off on level 5. I decided to go with Dire boar.

The character is a Half Orc ranger, beast master archetype, chose natural weapon fighting, and has a pack of boars as a companion. And when he gets mad, he turns into a 12 foot tall, 900 pound killing machine. Just from choosing the right feats and traits, I so far have 2 claws, a bite, and gore. On top of that, strength of 25 and con of 19 in hybrid form, and he's wearing plate mail enchanted to grow with him, so he's sitting at a cool 30 AC.

I'm thinking that multiclassing into barbarian for raging would be wise as the campaign goes on would be wise. In general, I kinda would love a bit of help with this, just on picking feats, spells, and other things, being that I'm not too experienced. Anything is appreciated.
