you continue along for several minutes until a foul stench permeates the air through the vents.

the white dove indicates a grate to the left and begins to slowly remove it.

This is the closest i can get you, from here you will need to find your own way. from what i can understand about the complex they keep them most important things towards the center, however their defenses seem to get more intense the closer you get.

He looks at you all and with a slight bow he says I wish you all the best of luck, and i hope i see you again, wreak havoc on these bastards on behalf of the people of Rendfell, show no mercy for they will not show you any

as far as i can tell it's from their power source, what ever their powering takes a lot of juice, both magical and electrical. they have these strange glowing orbs that seem to generate all the power located through out the building. i wouldnt get to close to them if i were you though they will vaporize anything that directly touches them

1 person marked this as a favorite.

The White dove seems deeply saddened by the decision as his shoulders slump.

Very well, let us continue, the entrance to the inner sanctum is not to far ahead.

he then turns and starts to walk away. As you follow him the sounds of muffled sobbing from some of the captives follows you for several meters before it is replaced with the soft humming as soft vibration can be felt through the vents.

either strong magic energy or other machinery is causing the ventilation shaft to vibrate.

The white dove returns krayns look, although you can only see his eyes clearly you can notice pain come across his face as he speaks.

I was born and raised in Rendfell, I used to be the elderman of the town, but... but i was unable to stop them. I was away on a trade mission to secure a new trade agreement with a tribe of Khellish nomads when the Technic League came and captured every single member of the town.

he pauses and breaths deeply, then continues they spared no one, man, women and child was taken to work their mines, those few who tried to resist were killed in the streets, i returned to a ghost town. The only person who was left was a young boy named Levi who hid in a Silo when the Technic League came, and i have raised him alone ever since.

A resurgence of strength returns to his voice as he adopts a defiant stance I have fought against and tried to free my people since that day and i will do what ever i can to thwart the Technic league, hence why i am helping you. I ask you all now to help me in return....please

The white dove listens to your conversation before interjecting.

Please, we must help them, these are my people, leaving them here is certain death and it is unlikely that you will be able to come back this way as it will be heavily guarded and fortified.

He lets out a long drawn out sigh, I understand you have a mission to complete and i dont want to jeopardise your main objective, what ever that is, so i will respect your decision, but i ask you to consider helping these people, they are a strong people and once we free them they will be able to fend for them selves, and as Zaci has mentioned it may prove as a diversion and lessen the resistance you might face ahead.

The white dove continues to focus on the last remaining soldier, his electrified whip attacks seem to be very effective. As he cracks his whip twice each one thundering against the metal armor sending pulses of lighting coursing through the soldier.

Actions:

attack1: 1d20 + 17 ⇒ (3) + 17 = 201d4 + 4 + 8 + 1d6 ⇒ (4) + 4 + 8 + (3) = 19
attack2: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (8) + 13 = 211d4 + 4 + 8 + 1d6 ⇒ (1) + 4 + 8 + (3) = 16

The metal soldier jerks violently from each hit then suddenly stiffens as its lights flicker and go dark.

The white dove steps forward beside Eleanora "How are you holding up? are you injured" he asks quickly scanning her to asses her wounds "let us focus on this soldier i think the others can handle the other one" as he motions towards soldier 2

He then whirls his whip around above his head and then cracks it down twice against soldier 2. Forks of lighting race up the length of the whip and thunder echos with each strike.

Actions:

5ft shift to d6
swift action spend a panache point to double precise strikes damage on the first attack.
full attack action - using blessing of fervor for +2 to hit, Ac and Dmg
attack1: 1d20 + 15 + 2 ⇒ (8) + 15 + 2 = 251d4 + 2 + 16 + 2 + 1d6 ⇒ (1) + 2 + 16 + 2 + (5) = 26
attack2: 1d20 + 10 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 10 + 2 = 181d4 + 2 + 8 + 2 + 1d6 ⇒ (2) + 2 + 8 + 2 + (4) = 18

The first attack strikes the metal soldier in the face, tearing open a hole in its helmet, how ever the soldier is able to move out of the way of the second attack as the whip cracks harmlessly through the air.

The white dove moves back out of range of the metal soldier, still rythmicly working his whip back and forth rolling his wrist as if the whip is an extension of his arm. he brings his hand up above his head and then strikes out twice against the first metal soldier.

Actions:

5ft step back
Full attack using blessing of fervor for +2 to attack, damage and AC
Attack1: 1d20 + 18 ⇒ (8) + 18 = 261d4 + 3 + 8 + 2 + 1d6 ⇒ (3) + 3 + 8 + 2 + (6) = 22
Attack2: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (15) + 13 = 281d4 + 3 + 8 + 2 + 1d6 ⇒ (3) + 3 + 8 + 2 + (1) = 17

2 quick bursts of bright white light are followed by 2 loud claps of thunder as the whip strikes the metal soldier, metal groans in protest as it sunders and gears grind to a halt, the soldiers blue/white eyes flicker then go dark as its body seizes and becomes still as a metal sculpture.

How's its going back there Maldrek, i hope you're going to get that gate up soon, there are likely more on the way!

The white dove moves down beside Krayn, continuing to focus on the soldier he has hit already, he again begins to flick the whip back and forth through the air, the electric charge building again. This time he targets the soldiers legs.

actions:

5ft down behind Krayn
Full attack spending a panache point using Targeted strike, targeting the legs and using vital strike.

attack: 1d20 + 16 + 3 ⇒ (13) + 16 + 3 = 322d4 + 3 + 8 + 1d6 ⇒ (4, 1) + 3 + 8 + (6) = 22

As the whip cracks and makes contact with the legs of the soldier, lighting lights up the room and thunder booms again, sparks fly from the tremendous hit and the soldiers legs are knocked out from under him as it falls prone.

Be careful these are mindless killing machines, strike hard and fast!!

The white dove takes a 5ft step down beside Eleanora, as he does he reaches to his hip an unfurls his scorpion whip, he begins to wave it rhythmically back and forth through the air above his head, each time getting slightly quicker, sparks of electricity start to race across the whip, and those of you standing next to him can feel the hairs on your arms start to stand up.

He takes a moment to study the soldier on the far left(of the map as you look at it) then as his fanciful display seems to reach its crescendo he cracks the whip out forward, as the whip cracks a clap as loud as thunder pierces the air and lightning brightens the room.

5ft step,
Free action - spend 1 point of panache to extend the whips reach by 5ft using the prehensile special ability
swift action - use Wave Strike to make a feint Bluff check: 1d20 + 17 ⇒ (18) + 17 = 35
move action - study target for +1 to hit and damage
Standard action - Attack with Vital Strike
Attack: 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (19) + 16 = 352d4 + 3 + 8 + 1d6 ⇒ (4, 1) + 3 + 8 + (6) = 22

after the light returns to normal you notice a black char mark on the chest of the solder, his metal breast plate cracked open, gears and leavers can be seen moving inside what should be the humanoids chest.

We need to figure out a way through, i dont know how much time we have before a patrol comes back this way

My task was to get you into the silver mountain complex, that is all, as i mentioned earlier i am unaware of your exact mission. What ever powers that decided to round you all up in Westcrown clearly decide they didnt need me there. He says with a smile at Eleanora.

Well if there are no more questions then let us be off The white doves makes a flamboyant gesture towards the door and starts to head out side.

Once you all get outside, you see all your horses ready, the young stable hand Lenni is there making sure your horses are saddled correctly and ready to ride. You all mount up and follow The White Dove out of town as he leads you to the north. You ride for just under 2 hours before reaching a small outcropping of buildings. The silver Mountain rising above them not to far in the distance.

As you get closer to the building you notice they are mostly all warehouses and sheds, you don't notice any signs of life. The white dove leads you into one of the larger warehouses as he dismounts and begins to tie off his horse.

This is it, one building over there is a shaft that will get us down into the mines He whispers as if not wanting to wake the ghostly memories of this once busy mine. We will have to walk for a few hours to the east to get to the tunnels that connect to the silver mountain complex. They will most likely be blocked or guarded so be prepared and stay low and quite.

He then quietly moves over to the door you rode through and looks around before darting quickly over to a smaller shed and disappearing inside.

Tiefling are you asking me which great white shark you should be wary of when swimming in the oceans? I would say any that have noticed you, for your time on this planet will be short after that.

He then gives you a wink before addressing the rest of the group again.

We ride north to the edge of the silver mountain, there is an old abandoned gold mine there, its why this town was built in the first place, still plenty of gold there too, problem is the tunnels got to close to the silver mount and a few unlucky miners even stumbled across some star metal, well it wasnt long before the Technic league was crawling all over the mines snatching the miners up as slaves

He sighs and drops his head as if remembering these things weighs heavy on him.

I know of a way through the mines, the technic league left some tunnels back to their bunker, they are probably blocked or guarded, or both but there is a way through. The Technic league has grown very powerful and this has made them complacent, we will have a small opportunity tonight while their security is changing over to sneak in

any other questions?

Why i seek vengeance against the technic league, ever since they came here and snatched up all the towns folk to work their mines, i've done what i can to disrupt their operation and free those i can, but they alway find more to replace the ones i free.

He walks to the bar and pours himself a drink I dont know what you've got planed all i know is that what ever it is its going to mess up the League big time and i'll be gad to lend my aid. but know this, this sint going to be easy i hope your ready for a fight

He turns around from the bar to face all of you, and you think you can make out the hint of a smile behind his lace face scarf.

As the man enters the inn, he dusts off his cloak and he looks around the room, a wide smile growing across his face as his eyes settle on the group.

The man in front of you is middle aged, he is wearing a deep red cloak with red and black leather armor and a bladed whip at his hip. But the strangest thing about him is the white lace mask covering the bottom half of his face.

Ah good you are here! please let me introduce my self, i'm The White Dove and i have been hired to guide you to the silver mountain he then flourishes in a low bow.

We must leave shortly i hope you are ready to travel, for a few hours from now you will be literally in the belly of the beast and in the heart of the Technic league vault.
