Erratic time isn't consistent. It will flow at different rates, probably daily. Possibly hourly.

As AVR points out, compare that to the flowing time option.

There's also the timeless option which depending on how your GM likes to run things could be what your friend really wants. I've always envision timeless as 0 time passes in the material plane while you're inside a timeless demiplane.

Of course this means you can do some crazy crafting...but that's for the GM to deal with. And ask the player not to break.

If the player and GM both refuse not to break the game by not allowing this...well you're in a tough spot. Only thing you can do really is ask the wizard player to help you out as well.

Oh, and remind the GM of the guidelines that were put out establishing that a crafting feat should only ever let you get about 25% more wealth per crafting feat, capping at 50% increase in wealth by level. I can go find the exact rules quote if you need it.

well, he won't be happy once i bring this up.

Regarding the crafting? this is going to be awkward to sort out. He's a Psychic Mage and he's taking advantage of Psychic Reformation to swap to a "crafting mode" basically at will inside his demiplane

By the rules of Greater Create Demiplane you can make it so that your private demiplane processes time differently then the material realm. Anywhere between twice as fast to half as fast. in other words, anywhere between 1 round inside = 2 rounds outside to 2 rounds inside = 1 round outside.

My friend is insisting that the erratic time which rolls on a random chart is rolled once upon creation of the demiplane and thus can potentially make 1 day inside = 1 round outside on a good roll.

I'm looking at this and I think this is absurdly powerful, especially for a wizard who can craft magic items this way at a rate of hundreds of thousands of gold in a single day. It would make sense that a demiplane with erratic time would make a new roll on the erratic table EVERY TIME YOU enter/leave the plane.

Am I right or is my friend?

EDIT: please please please if possible sources would be fantastic so I can actually have proof. I'm being told that it's just a facet of high level wizard shenanigans and being ignored whenever I bring it up.
