Gameplay posts incoming today!

Is everyone still here? I see 3/4. Stephen/Shalewigg?

Not a problem guys!

Also, I think today is my last day as acting attorney for my buddy, as the lawyer is supposed to be in today!

I sent a PM this morning explaining things, but I will explain them here. A buddy of mine was wrongly arrested based on false accusations and I had volunteered to serve as his acting attorney until he could get an actual one, since I have some experience with the justice system on a collegiate level. I finally found him an actual defense lawyer, who will be coming in from Atlanta soon. I apologize for my absences and I will try to post within 2-3 days.

Another post for you all!

Each guard has a chain shirt, a club, a heavy steel shield, a longsword, a longbow with 20 arrows, and a single key. One of the guards, the last one to fall, has an entire keyring.

Soren's attempt to place the item back in the veil fails, as all the dagger does is cause the fabric to shift slightly. Apparently, items can only be removed from it.

After Shalewigg asks who knows the way out, a deep voice can be heard at coming from the large cell door that was out and to the right of the prisoners own cell, "I know a way out, little'uns. Take dem sets o' keys and come here so's we can chat. Come on, Grumblejack not gonna bite ya!"

Perception DC20:
You look through the small grate in the iron door and see a face in the shadows, a face too large to belong to a man. From what you can make out, the face looks sort of primitive, with a large sloping brow, an unkempt mane of hair and a massive jaw. Small tusks protrude from the face's mouth.

Knowledge: Local or History; Only attempt if you made the Perception check:
The creature's face resembles one of the Talirean Ogres! But didn't all of those get wiped out when the Markadian took the throne and began the Purges? While you were sure that was the case, according to history at least, this creature bears a VERY strong resemblance to one. If so, this creature might be worth releasing, assuming that it could be controlled.

You may handwaive it, due to the guards having been dropped.

Yes, you may!

Yes. :)

Post up, continuing the last round's action!

Damien swings his fist, provoking an attack from the guard, who sees the punch coming from a mile away.

Guard AoO: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5

The guard's wild, frenzied swinging completely misses Damien, whose fist connects to the guard's face so hard that his head turns. Hit!

Xoruk continues his ritual, intoning dark words and making elaborate gestures as energy builds. You did not retcon his action, so I am simply going with his old one.

Soren brings her dagger down at the guard, missing by mere inches. Miss!

Shallewig punches the guard squarely in the head as he recovers from Damien's punch. This one knocks him out and he falls to the ground with a bloody thorn broken off in the side of his head. He moans in pain, clearly incapacitate. Hit and drop!

Tonight! :) The recent storms that blew through the East Coast downed the servers at out local Charter, so I have been without the Internet until today.

Yes, dot in the name of all things dark and dour!

I also saw only two people have dotted recruitment. Has everyone else did one of the 'invisidots'?

Soren- I will allow that minor tweaking.

CampinCarl9127- You're welcome! I rather like this crew. :)

CampinCarl9127- I am perfectly fine with that. Once combat is finished, he will be in a cell with the other new PC. A question though: do you still want Damien in the campaign as an NPC or would you rather him face Talingarde's justice?

Soren- As of now, firearms are in the early stage, due to them being seen as dishonorable by most in Talingarde. There are still specialty gun stores in major cities and a few NPCs have been outfitted with them. To further answer your question, you may have a rifle later on. You may also request a scaling magic firearm as your Patron Boon once everyone chooses Patrons later on. Sound amenable?

First, let me apologize for posting late. I didn't wake up until around 5:00 P.M. and played Dying Light for hours before realizing the time!

So, the consensus is to restart where you all left off then? Go ahead and dot gameplay and discussion. Once you have, post in discussion that you are primed and ready to go. The campaign will resume once all five players have dotted the thread.

The fifth player should be on soon, posting from my profile (It's my girlfriend, who will get no DM/GM pet perks!).

Xoruk- Ah okay, so that's how it works. It is allowed. As for how the patron works, it can be in addition to. It's kind of like, as odd of a comparison, a patron saint for your character. The power and scaling item that you get will be tailored to both your character and your patron, which is why you must choose one. It's mostly for thematic purposes.

Soren- I will allow you to reflavor Traits.

Steven- You're welcome!

Gameplay will be up soon.

Dot!

Make your OOC discussions here.

Time for the character creation process!

Level- Gestalt 1 (Stipulation: one side of the gestalt must be leveled up in a SINGLE class).

Ability Scores: 24 point buy system, from a base of 10, with increases and decreases to scores occurring on a one-for-one basis. Remember that no ability score may be higher than 18+-modifiers or lower than 08+-modifiers.

HP- Maximum per level.

Classes- Any official Paizo. You may inquire about third party material.

Alignment- LE or NE is highly preferred.

Race- Any official Paizo. You may inquire about third party material.

Skill Points- 2 bonus Skill Points per level.

Traits: 2, plus a Crime Trait, plus an additional Trait if you choose a Drawback.

Starting Equipment: Even though you will begin with no equipment, save for a ragged prisoner's garb, you will have 500 GP worth of belongings that have been confiscated by the prison in lockup.

Now, although this will not be until later, I would suggest looking up the Lords of the Nine Hells and having one in mind for being the character's 'patron'. Your patron will bestow upon you a unique permanent buff, a unique skill, AND a unique piece of equipment that levels in power with you. You may request specific things that you might want in regards to item type and power themes, but ultimately it will be my decision on what the item does.

One quick question from me before I leave you all to parsing out how to recreate/tune your characters: do you want the game to resume where it left off or do you want to just start fresh?

If you have any questions, feel free to let me know!
