I read it that way also... I also read that the game is very far away and settlements won't be enabled right away so I'm sure that these numbers and specifics will change between now and then.

So, when a connection between a CC and a settlement is dissolved, I hope that the time for that CC to find another settlement is more than 15 minutes. I hope they have a matter of RL days (3ish).

Did they state that the CC would dissolve if they were no longer backed by a settlement? Creation of a CC needs backing by a settlement, but I didn't read anything that said they need them to exists after creation. It is true that I could have missed it, cause I don't read every single post on this message board.

A smart settlement will have a certain level of CCs that are more transitory, like mercenaries and traveling merchants. This would allow them to benefit from the "War" flag, but they may not have the same benefits of a more permanent CC.
Settlements that will do well will see how the wind is blowing and hire or create CCs for that reason. Those CCs should be able to leave these settlements if the conditions aren't to their liking.

There are always consequences for your actions, in real life and in games. If your company joins a settlement there are usually benefits and demands made of the CC's. A mercenary CC will get the benefit of a stable market and a friendly place to hang your hat, but there will be the demand that they fight for the settlement when needed. A merchant CC will gain the benefit of the protection of the settlement and cheaper prices for settlement allies may be a demand. You can do what you want. But if you don't help out the settlement then the settlement can boot you. If you don't get the benefits from the settlement that you want then you can go find a settlement that will give you those benefits, or start your own. That's what a community is, give and take. Some give more than others, that's life, in game and out of it.

They have talked a lot about alignment and reputation negatives, but very little on how to boost (make good/lawful) your alignment or reputation. Would like to hear how to do that.

Maybe GW should keep track of all those KS donors and see if more players are joining their guilds or not. If not , they should not be allowed to have guild rights in the beta gameplay period.

Only if they reimburse them their money. These people paid a lot of money to have a Chartered Company name to themselves, it shouldn't be taken away because they don't have a full six members by opening day

I wouldn't be surprised to see reputation being a "tradeable" good that players use to take our "favors" and buy their way into organizations.

Wonderful. I would love it if that were so.

Goblinworks didn't sell rights to a 'Guild'. They sold rights to a Chartered Company's name. A Chartered Company doesn't have to be a large guild that is devoted to every section of the game... I expect that the majority of Chartered Companies will be small groups of people getting together to become bandits, merchants, drovers, guards, druid circles... There will be a niche for every group.

I expect I will specialize much more in PFO than I have in other games. I probably won't know exactly what specializations I will choose until much more information has been released.

They stated that they would like to reward specialization while still allowing people to do what they want. With a player economy, you may not be able to buy what you want right away, but if you make a contract with a craftsman to make something, you can get it, rather than having to camp for it.

I would love to see being able to create different qualities of different parts of an item. You said different parts of the armor and weapons before, you'd have the band, facets and gems of rings... and each section of the item would effect the weapon or item in a different way. If your pommel isn't very good quality but your blade is amazing you would have a lower attack bonus and a higher damage bonus. Maybe the band or a ring would effect duration (connection with the caster) and the gem could effect strength (connection with the magic). Just some examples.

I don't have a problem with a mini-game idea if its done right and doesn't pull me out of the immersion of the game. I don't want to play a tetris-style game, or a plant's vs zombies game, or a disgruntled birds game in my MMORPG.

I guess I don't know what is meant by "mini-games". If the "game" has to do with crafting items then I understand, but it seems like said minigame is just busywork to give you something to do while your thing is being created.

As a different theme on the Roman Coliseum idea is the Knightly tournament. Different settlements at different times if year could hold a tournament of games, each settlement deciding what competitions to hold, and people would travel bringing not only warriors, but gamblers, and merchants, creating a traveling festival atmosphere, rather than having it at one spot.
