102. After the PCs have thrown everything they have at the BBEG in one round: "In the cloud of dust brought on by your ferocious onslaught, there is silence for a few moments. Then hysterical laughter. The cloud clears, revealing the man in the blue suit doubled over in laughter, completely untouched. He composes himself, clears his throat, smiles, and says, 'F for effort, as they say! Now it's my turn. Let me show you how it's really done.'" Followed by saying you need two extra d20s to determine initiative order. ???. "Oh gee. Um, this is awkward. You said you stab him in the wound? ****." *rolls dice, since I DM without a screen it comes up as 00* "Um... how much alchemist's fire did you store in the base again?" 666. "Okay. Um, so first and least important is that you've all just blown a hole in the sky. Great job, guys. Hold on a moment, I need to figure out the mass combat rules for a legion of demons versus four idiots."

So, um, I'm going to voice what's probably an unpopular opinion. But I think, due to the nature of the reset, EVERYBODY should be sent rocketing back to their base domains, starting AP, and have everything they've done wiped away with ONE exception. This way, it gets everybody on equal footing, and lets us actually create new stories rather than just doing the same one over and over again.
To: AbadarCorp Customer Service Subject: Anti-Privateer "Hammer of the Law" H07L Drones To my great dismay, whilst I was carousing upon my party cruiser and gloating over my recent acquisition of an ancient artifact through perfectly legitimate means, the ship was boarded by louse-ridden pirates! Of course, I activated the H07Ls, but there were a number of issues with them that were recorded on the holocams while I fled to my private escape pod with my ancient artifact acquired through perfectly legitimate means. 1. Their "adamantine-layered armor" was easily dispatched by sustained plasma bolt fire. 2. Their "anti-vehicular cannons" were easily withstood by a vesk before she easily tore the drones apart with her bare hands. 3. They self-destructed in a rather spectacular fashion, leaving me without an insurance claim on my ship! I demand a refund!
Ooooh. I'm very interested. Question: if everybody survives, and is interested, do you think we could continue the campaign when the kids reach "level one" and begin adventuring proper? And sooo many ideas. Oh, joy. -A grumpy, intelligent girl with adventuring wizards for parents. (Bloodrager) -The homeless kid who's always pulling off crazy stunts. (Swashbuckler) -The one grounded member of the group, without any real skills but a pinch of common sense and intelligence. (Some kind of class that lends itself to skills that suddenly awaken out of nowhere, like sorcerer or oracle.)
I was mostly framing that as a question as an excuse to rant and to thank you. Um, need to think of an actual question now... When Starfinder releases, are you planning on participating on any campaigns using the system? What is Shensen's (your PC's) most awesome moment in her history? We all know that she was on the verge of turning the Red Wizards into a force for good, but is there a particular moment that defined that arc before the campaign came crashing down?
Why can't people enjoy our lesbian space pirate communist? I repeat: PAIZO HAS PUBLISHED A LESBIAN SPACE PIRATE COMMUNIST ICONIC AND PEOPLE ARE ARGUING ABOUT HER! Can't we just enjoy the fact that Navasi exists? In all seriousness, I have to thank everybody at Paizo for their continual support and representation of all kinds of minorities. You guys legitimately make both fiction and the real world a better place for all you do.
Create a status effect for Hollowing. I would suggest a -1 penalty to all mental stats as a result of Hollowing, which resets upon consuming Humanity. A system for creating singular boss monsters with unique movesets. Ways to adjust encounters to reflect how deadly the game is and to make Hollowing a real threat. A guide on creating a dark, oppressive atmosphere for the setting.

Here are episodes that you might not have watched in Season 1A, but are very important later on. I would suggest taking a look at them after you've watched Mirror Gem//Ocean Gem, so that you can decide whether the series is worth your time or not, but here they are: Bubble Buddies: Introduces my favorite character, period.

Fair. Every time somebody watches Steven Universe, I always tell them to withhold judgement until Episode 26. If you managed to watch through that an still dismiss it as a cute and funny show and nothing more, I won't dispute your decision. HOWEVER, if you haven't, watch episodes 25 and 26. The first half of Season One is incredibly weak plot-wise, as pretty much everyone in the fandom agrees, because it's nothing but world building and foreshadowing. However, the second half of Season One after Mirror Gem/Ocean Gem kicks everything into high gear, and deals with such light, fluffy issues such as: -Consent!
Also, on a lighter note:
Things basically keep rolling plot-wise at a steady pace from the end of Ocean Gem, with only a few filler episodes here and there. Seriously, when you get the chance, if you haven't watched Mirror Gem/Ocean Gem yet, watch them. If they don't grab you, I won't push you any farther, but it's the definitive turning point for the series.
Are you fine with me asking you for writing advice? If so: In order to keep up with my schedule (which I made myself), I have to write, edit, beta, and publish two 1500-3000 word chapters a week. Although I have a lot of energy for writing, it's getting a bit exhausting. How would you best avoid burnout in this situation? I'm struggling to find a good balance between my protagonist's primary strengths being his force of will and his ability to push his body past the breaking point, and the natural consequences of said going past the breaking point severely injuring him. On the one hand, it would trivialize his injuries and his flaw of disregarding his own well-being if he was able to immediately push past the injuries that he inflicted upon himself. On the other, I still want to emphasize those positive traits even while he's out for the count. Any advice for this? Any advice on writing family dynamics? I'm an only child who, raised by a single parent, so I'm struggling on writing my protagonist's nuclear family realistically.

Eh, the episodes are in eleven-minute chunks. They're pretty easy to absorb say, during lunch. I will warn you, though, that nothing really happens until Episode 25, but you still have to watch everything before that just for the worldbuilding.
Eh, it's a Steven Universe fic, so it automatically has LGBT themes as a matter of course :P But, in all seriousness, I need beta readers. I have good ones, but they both live in Europe, so we're kinda wonky on the time zones. And I'm still super paranoid that everybody is telling me that it's great because they're being nice to me and my writing is actually complete crap.
Dang. That's... really rough, Cindy. As a person who's been depressed, I for one can say that everyone's depression is completely different, just like everyone's brain is different. I can't really offer good insight as to how your friend's mind is working, especially as I don't know her, but I do have a little bit of advice. A depressed person isolating themselves for a little while-a few days, a week-is, at least in my experience, that they're trying to get their head together without everybody smothering them with affection. That's generally a good thing. However, if it's any longer than that, then you really need to go talk to her. Like, really really, as soon as it's possible.
Steven: Life and death
Steven: Is there anything that's worth more
Steven: Come on and sing it with me!
Steven: Life and death
Steven: Yes, yes, that's it!
Peridot: I guess we're already here
Steven, laughing: Yes!
So I'm watching Steven Universe. It's one of my favorite shows, and I'm already in the middle of the third season despite only starting watching it this last Friday. A Few Random Thoughts, Spoilers Abound:
I absolutely adore the show, and recommend it to everyone.
Started watching Steven Universe. Few remarks on first episode: Seems a bit silly, but in a feel-good, above average way. The way Pearl, Garnet, and Amethyst explained how they summoned their weapons pretty much perfectly maps onto Intelligence, Wisdom, and Charisma based casting. Hints of a bigger plot?
Really depends on what format you play. Extended and eternal formats, like Modern and Commander, have a steep entry price, but the value stays in the cards, so if times get tough you can sell your deck back for the price you got it for, sometimes a little more. Rotating formats, like Standard, generally cost a lot less, but when the cards go out of season there tends to be a huge price drop. And finally there's limited, which I recommend to new players, since because you're building your deck out of booster packs, everybody is on an even playing field. It's also really cheap and a good way to build your collection.
It's a Reyhan/Ravos counters deck. Super resilient. Kill a creature? Alright, I move all of its counters to something else and, if it was important, get it back next turn. I can also get up to some ridiculous sacrifice shenanigans with it. For example: I sac a 10/10 Vastwoods Hydra to Vish Kal, Blood Arbiter, with Reyhan and Corpsejack Menace out. That got pretty ridiculous. Loving the format so far, although I've only won one game since one of the friends I play with always plays this stupid mono-blue Teferi (planeswalker version) control deck. Once, he managed to cast everybody's entire deck. It was a combo with Teferi, Tezzeret the Seeker, Architect Jace, and Chain Veil. He has to have eight mana up, but that's pretty easy in Commander. I believe the way it works is plus Teferi, plus Tezz, plus Jace, activate Chain Veil, minus Teferi to untap, plus Tezz, plus Jace, activate Chain Veil again, plus Teferi, plus Tezz, plus Jace, activate Chain Veil, and so on. The point is that you get infinite Jace, Architect of Thought ults, which lets you cast all of your opponent's decks.
Yeah, it's pretty great, but I just built my first EDH deck, so I've been doing that the past couple of weeks. If I can scrape the money together, some friends and I will get a box of Masters and a bunch of sleeves, make it into a cube. I'm considering getting into Modern itself though, since the Zendikar fetches are dropping in price, and those are the most prohibitive parts of the format, IMHO. My dream for tomorrow night is Deadeye Navigator, then Dinrova Horror, then bounce things and force the opponent to discard a bunch every turn after that, while swinging in with a 5/5 and a 4/4 each turn.
We were each given 500 gp to get our gear for a new campaign. Everybody else was sane and got their primary weapon, armor, ranged weapon, secondary weapon, a backpack, bedroll, and rations, and had some gold to spare. Me, though? I'm not crazy, you're crazy!: scale mail masterwork large-sized bastard sword 5 javelins 2 daggers shortsword light wooden shield warhammer backpack bedroll winter blanket chalk crowbar flask flint and steel grappling hook 3 belt pouches portable ram 7 days of rations 10 torches 3 waterskins cold weather outfit shovel
