As with every year we hold our Fall & Winter holiday sales, please remember that the additional volume will result in increased response times for our CS department, as well as increased shipping times. While we are taking steps to mitigate this as much as we can, I also thank you in advance for your patience as we strive to make sure any effects of the increased volume affect as small a number of customers as possible.

If you are still waiting on an order from the beginning of November, please see this post.

We've made some changes to the My Subscriptions page and some subscribers' combined shipping options. This change is to help clarify what the combined shipping options mean so that you can choose the option that works the best for you.

As you may already know, each month we release all new Paizo products for that month at the same time. This means that if you have only Paizo subscriptions, your subscription items are all combined with any available items in your sidecart to offer the lowest possible shipping and handling fee. For this reason, if you only have Paizo subscriptions, then your subscriptions are automatically set to combine and there is no meaningful choice to make. Therefore, for subscribers who only have Paizo subscriptions, the option to select a combined shipping option does not appear on their My Subscriptions page.

However, Paizo does not set the release dates for WizKids' Pathfinder Battles miniatures or Dynamite Entertainment's Pathfinder Comics, so they won't always be released at the same time as Paizo's own releases. Thus, when you have one of these subscriptions in addition to any Paizo product subscriptions, you have the opportunity to decide whether you want these products shipped immediately, or held to be combined with the next Paizo release.

Your choices for combined shipping options on the My Subscriptions page have been reworded for clarity:

  • Hold for monthly Paizo shipment: Ship all of my subscription products once a month, so that I'll pay only one shipping charge. Any non-Paizo subscription releases will wait to go out with the next monthly Paizo subscription shipment.

  • Never hold anything: Ship items as they become available and I'll pay separate shipping charges for each shipment. Items released at the same time will still be combined into one shipment.

If you choose "Hold for monthly Paizo shipment", your non-Paizo subscription releases will be delayed until the next time Paizo subscription products are sent out; while you won't get the non-Paizo subscription products as quickly, this may reduce your overall shipping costs. Choose this option if you want the lowest costs, and are comfortable waiting for your comics or miniatures.

If you choose "Never hold anything", we will ship everything as soon as it's released, combining only items that are released at the same time. Depending on the subscriptions you have, you may get one, two, or three subscription shipments in a single month. Choose this option if you want to make sure that you are always getting everything as soon as possible, and are willing to pay for additional shipments.

Please take a moment to review your subscription information on your "My Subscriptions" page:

    http://paizo.com/paizo/account/subscriptions

Though we have reworded these choices to provide additional clarity, we have not changed your current setting; if you were previously set to "Hold for monthly shipment," you are now set to "Hold for monthly Paizo shipment."

We're pleased to announce that subscribers of Paizo products who are attending Gen Con can now opt to pick up Paizo's August releases in person at the convention!

The following subscription products may be picked up at Gen Con:

  • Pathfinder Roleplaying Game: Ultimate Equipment (OGL) Hardcover
  • GameMastery Item Cards: Shattered Star Adventure Path
  • GameMastery Map Pack: Rooftops
  • Pathfinder Tales: Blood of the City
  • Pathfinder Adventure Path #60: From Hell’s Heart (Skull & Shackles 6 of 6) (PFRPG)
  • Pathfinder Adventure Path #61: Shards of Sin (Shattered Star 1 of 6) (PFRPG)
  • Pathfinder Campaign Setting: Paths of Prestige (PFRPG)
  • Pathfinder Player Companion: Varisia, Birthplace of Legends (PFRPG)
  • Pathfinder Module: The Moonscar (PFRPG)

Subscribers who have preordered the Pathfinder Roleplaying Game: Bestiary Box and opted to ship it with their subscriptions will also be able to pick up that set at the show. For logistics reasons, however, the Pathfinder Battles minis will *not* be available for subscriber pickup, and will be shipped as usual.

Just visit your My Subscriptions page before 11 AM Pacific Time on Wednesday, August 1 and select "Yes, I'll pick up my subscription products at Gen Con 2012." Shortly before the show, we'll charge your credit card and, where appropriate, give you access to the corresponding PDF. (This will happen at the same time as subscribers who aren't picking up at Gen Con—your PDFs won't be delayed by choosing to pick up at Gen Con.) For convention pickup, 7% sales tax will be added to your order—but you won't pay any shipping fees.

Note that we can't offer pickup of items in your sidecart—by default, they'll remain in your sidecart until the next subscription shipment, though you can visit your My Account page at any time to request that we ship your sidecart sooner!

Of course, all of the products listed above—and many other popular items—will be available for purchase at the show as well.

We're looking forward to seeing you at the show!

I'm pleased to welcome a new face to the Paizo Customer Service team, our newest customer service drone, Erik Keith! You'll be seeing him start posting here in the coming days. Erik is replacing Megan, who has moved on to other opportunities elsewhere.

Everyone please be gentle with him, as he comes to terms with the particular brand of insanity that permeates his co-workers, as well as the customers he's here to serve.

So, everyone.... say HI and pretend we're normal! At least for now. :D

    Thanks,

    Help!

In the deluge of free pizza, we have misplaced our April Fool's Day Secret Mustaches!

Check out these pictures of admirably hirsute coverings of the anterior surface of the body of the maxilla, and help us figure out who is who!

Once you've given up (like we have), perhaps the image under this spoiler will help guide your way, as it is a cheat sheet:

    Spoiler:

...by the way, I did remember to warn you about Mustache 17, right? Don't look at it. It's awful! BEWARE OF MUSTACHE 17!

Note: This was, in NO WAY, a competition. You are therefor asked to avoid such unpleasantness as noting who has the best mustache. There will be no need to point out whose mustache is your favorite. The most luxurious, impressive, or awe-inspiring. We are ALL above such childishness as paying attention to whose mustache is the "fan favorite". All mustaches are unique and important snowflakes. Even Jason's.

It seems that I can read your post, but it's bugged and I'm not able to answer there, so here ya go in a new thread:

I understand you want to "watermark" the PDF files, and you'll need to send a notice to someone that a gift download is available. So - I'm prepared to provide the email name of the person to whom I want you to send a gift. Good enough? No way! What's the deal with the "Avatar name" crap? Do I have to know someone's "Avatar name" in order to spend money on your web site? That's just BS.

The way we deliver PDFs is to the recipient's My Downloads page on their Paizo.com account. If they do not have an account, then we have nowhere to deliver the PDF. This is why that page says:

Select a Gift Recipient Page wrote:
Download recipients must have a paizo.com account.

Requiring you to provide their avatar name enforces this rule and ensures that you don't waste your money on a PDF that cannot be delivered.

    Simulpost:

Now that the changes we have instituted on your My Subscriptions page have been rolled out, I can explain what you're seeing, how these shipments will go down, and why. You can also see what I'm talking about on our Product Schedule.

First of all, is the "why".

The biggest monkeywrench in the the system is Gen Con. We will be releasing all of our August releases at Gen Con and Gen Con is the very first weekend of August. As a rule, we always ensure that we send out subscriber copies of our books at the same time we send them out to distribution. We want to make sure that subscribers' books show up in your mailbox on or about the same time they show up on stores' shelves. Therefore we will be shipping these books the week before Gen Con, which means at the end of July. However, after Gen Con, our next shipment isn't until the September shipment, in mid-September.

Let's take a closer look: If you look at the page right now, you will see a shipment pending for this month. This shipment will have already been authorized and be going out sometime tomorrow or early next week. This shipment will have Pathfinder #33 and other books coming out this month.

The next shipment you see is listed in mid-June. This shipment, the "June Shipment", will contain Pathfinder #34, as well as the "Pathfinder Roleplaying Game: GameMastery Guide" and the other June releases. We expect to be shipping this shipment out about 5 weeks from now, which is on or around the 18th. Please keep in mind that any dates I'm giving here are "best estimates" only, and NOT concrete or a guarantee.

Three weeks after this, on or around July 9th, we will be shipping out the "July Shipment". This shipment will contain Pathfinder AP #35, as well as the other items listed on our Product Schedule as being released in "early July".

Three weeks after that, which is on or around July 30th, we will be shipping out the second shipment within the calendar month of July. This will be the "August shipment", which was been moved up to coincide with the beginning of Gen Con. These are items listed on our Product Schedule as being released in "late July". Since all of our August releases will be shipped at this time, we have no scheduled subscription shipment within the calendar month of August.

This means that after three shipments each three weeks apart from one another, there will not be another shipment for around seven weeks. The September shipment will probably occur sometime around mid-September.

    thanks,
    cos

Time lapse video of the night sky as it passes over the 2009 Texas Star Party in Fort Davis, Texas. The galactic core of Milky Way is brightly displayed. Images taken with 15mm fisheye lens.

See the discussion under the video for the technical details of how it was done exactly. The upshot is: this is basically just a filter on the the night sky, and not faked in any way.

Sorry, folks, but apparently the Paizo office phone lines are currently down.

We are working on getting them back up as soon as possible, so if you have an immediate issue that requires a phone call, please bear with us while we find a repairman with a couple cleric levels.

In the meantime, of course, I'm here on the messageboards and Alison is monitoring customer.service@paizo.com.

I've never played any of the C&C games. I've never been interested.

However, I intend to get this game as soon as it comes out whether my computer can run it or not.

Thanks to this little bit of inspired marketing, I must have this game. I've watched this trailer easily 10-12 times.

I'm mostly just making this thread to 1)indoctrinate others in a Ring-inspired hope that getting others to watch will free my mind from the need to watch again, and 2)to put the link somewhere easy to find for later.

Please feel free to watch the video, and just come back here and name something awesome about it.

    Hey folks,

Some Pathfinder-only subscribers will be receiving a free copy of GameMastery Module U2: The Hangman's Noose with their shipment of Pathfinder Volume 6: Spires of Xin-Shalast.

This is a free gift from us going out to many (but not all) Pathfinder-only subscribers, selected at random. As this module is not a part of a subscription, you will not be getting the PDF for free. However, if you like what you see, I know a place where you can get PDF's of GameMastery modules for free. ;)

    Thanks,

This is to announce that the person formally known on these 'boards as "Scott & Le Janke" will now be known as "Curaigh".

This is a total and retroactive change, however, any post that quoted one of Curaigh's pre-change posts will still read "Scott & Le Janke wrote".

Which may be confusing. Which is why this is generally not done, except in special cases.

We will be reshipping Dragon 358 along with the poster from Dragon 359 to all Canadian subscribers who are still missing their issues.

There is no need for any further action on your part, and I will come back here and post the exact date of shipment when it occurs.

Thank you all very much for your patience!

    Paizo Employee Director of Sales

In an effort to get all subscribers access to their PDF of Pathfinder #2 as quickly as possible, we processed all the orders for Pathfinder #2 at once. In effect, we "shipped" all of the Pathfinder #2 subscriber orders from 10/2 through 10/4. Your "My Subscriptions" page and shipping confirmation email will most likely reflect one of these dates. However, the term "shipped" in this sense means the processing of the payment, printing the shipping label, and granting access to the PDF. While we started doing so immediately on 10/2, the actual physical act of putting your Pathfinder in an envelope, putting your label on it and getting it out of the warehouse door, combined with a three-day weekend, took longer.

The final subscriber volumes of Pathfinder #2 left our warehouse on Wednesday, 10/10/07. Therefore, the actual date any given subscriber's volume of Pathfinder #2 left our warehouse could be any business day in the week between 10/02 and 10/10.

If your Pathfinder has not yet arrived, please be patient as it is most likely still on its way to you. If it shipped via USPS Standard Mail (which most did) the estimated delivery time domestically is 3 to 10 business days. Once a package leaves our warehouse, its delivery is entirely in the hands of the USPS and we must give the USPS the necessary time to deliver it.

Therefore, we ask that if you have yet to receive your Pathfinder #2, please wait 20 business days from the date the last Pathfinder shipped from our warehouse before letting us know of its absence. This would be November 8th. We understand that this seems like a very long time, however, this is intentionally the worst-case scenario to make sure that your Pathfinder has every possible chance to arrive on its own.

We are constantly striving to provide better, faster, and more reliable service to you at all times. With every volume we ship, we learn how to ship the next one better.

Thank you very much for your patience,
    Cosmo
