Ok, so my Carrion Crown kinda ended prematurely. So I thought it would be a great time to expand my library of tomes to torture :hmmpf: I mean challenge my players when I start a new campaign in August. I now have:
Now what I was thinking of buying most immediately for the next campaign:
And now what I was thinking of buying if I have the extra funds or just feel like buying a new book:
Any suggestions, and books I should add, or move around in the list?
This is my first time DM'ing and there first time playing any RPG. I have familiarized my self with all the rules in the down time we've had, and iv already dumbed down some of the rules. Finding another group will not be hard, a buddy if mine is going to start DM'ing a D&D 3.5 group and we've been talking about switching from D&D to Pathfinder every week. So next time if he's a no show again how should I deal with ex? I don't feel like I should give him full ex.
I gave them the choice of the game they wanted to play, they said a horror game so were running Carrion Crown. We're just about to end the first book (they only have one more ghost to kill). What should I do with his character? Just make him another NPC party member (they are hired a rouge to even out their party, they're a cleric, sorcerer, and a fighter)?
Well the first time he wasn't there it was forced and did not flow like it had so we stopped and just hung out, and then the next time we didn't even try. Like I said he became the leader of the group and the other two sort of just followed what he did. What exactly should I ask them? Just if he can't show if we want to end it?
The group I am currently DM'ing for is starting to have a few problems, well one problem really. A little back story, its a group of 4 (me and three other players) we've been going for a few months trying to work around peoples school and work. But for the last two times we tried to get together I got confirmation that all three players would show, and then one person would not show or answer his phone (this is the player that has became the group "leader" if you will). So now I'm starting to give up hope on this group, and I ask should I try and save this group or just move on? Thanks,
(I hope I put this in the right section, please tell me if I did not for future reference) So I have the old Thunder Rift book with some modules, and I thought it would be fun to run them with Pathfinder rules. But I have no clue how to convert them, so how would I go about making them playable and entertaining to play? The books (for lack of a better word) are •Thunder Rift
Thanks in advance,
Thanks for all the advice. I'm thinking of changing the APG to the Game Master Guide. And i'm leaning towards Carrion crown, as we're all fans of horror movies and I want chances to mess with the players heads. Now I'v heard that the sweet spot for gaming groups is 3-5 players, is this true in your experiance? Also what do you if say in a 4 person group if 2 choose to be a fighter, 1 a rogue, and 1 a mage. But nobody chooses to be a cleric? Do you supply a npc cleric that will go with them, let them get hurt with nobody to heal them, or try to convert one into a cleric? Thanks,
Well with the Advanced Players Guide I thought it would allow the players to build the pc they want, and not be pigeon toed into a pc like it (I already know that atleast one person will be wanting to make a witch, or another class in it). And with the Bestiary I'd be able to throw interesting little side quests durring the ap, and be able to start work on anouther campain well we're doing this one. Id most likely be dropping the fluff book for the campain.
(Sorry if I put this in the wrong forum) Ok, me and a group of friends are going to start a pathfinder game somethime next month. Now, the entire goup are noobs to rpg's, but I have played D&D for a year or so (thus me being the DM). Now, we have desided to play one of two ap's to start (Crimson Throne or Carrion Crown). I was wondering what I needed to buy first, I have a list of books and am looking for advice on it and anything else a new DM might need. - Core Rule Book
Thanks,
