She easily avoids getting tangled up in the hooks, and unleashes a wave of multicolored light over three of the grindylows. Purple, pink, and red.

Assuming the spell is cast, Tempest dives into the water along with Mac and Tucci, keeping pace with them as they go. She seems to struggle with staying back, though, and seems to want to plunge ahead.

I had used Weather Savvy last night. Dunno if that got missed, or if there was just nothing of note, but wanted to make sure.

Tempest awakens early and gets some focused meditation done on deck, reinforcing her connection to the sky. An uncommon practice, but she wants to be in top form for the day ahead.

As the others start to awaken, she makes her way back into the shared quarters and takes the time to lace up her new corset. Once done, she strikes a pose for Mac and Ellie as they finish up their preparations, "So, whatcha think?"

"Yeah, yeah, heaven. Been there done that..."

Tempest takes the clothes and armor and goes over it all with her spell, cleaning out all of the sand. Unfortunately, the spell takes a while to clean so much, so Tucci is probably stuck in his skivvies for a bit, but when she does return the clothes, they are as clean as they day they were made.

Once that is done, she wanders off to enjoy some solitude under the sky for a bit, to connect to the sky as part of her nightly ritual. Of course, this also grants her insight into the weather for the day to come.

Tempest gives Ellie a kind, if concerned, smile, "Do you have reason to doubt your observations? Or are you second-guessing your own ability? If it is the latter, I reject it. Have confidence in yourself, and others will follow suit."

Tempest takes a moment to breathe (as far away from the stench of death as possible) and calm herself as Tucci loots the stockade.

When did you become so sentimental?

Shaking the intrusive thoughts out of her head as the looting is finished, she returns to the loot pile and takes a look over it. She goes so far as to seek out the magic of some of the items available, to identify their properties.

"Damn it! Can we just get a moment's rest without something trying to kill us?" Tempest sighs in frustration as she tries to get a look in the doorway, "Mac, I can't get past you while you're like this. Is it the corpse that was hanging there? Can we just poke it to death?" She indicates with her boarding pike to emphasize her meaning.

Tempest shakes her head at the suggestion of moving on, "I don't know about the rest of you, but I'm nearly spent. Even if we were able to make it to the grindylows today, I don't know how much help I would be. Tucci said before that his spells are running thin, as well. It may well be smarter to clear out any other points of interest on the island, then head back to the ship. We can set out for the grindylow lair in the morning, fresh and fully charged and able to rain Hells down upon them."

"I already di- Wha- GYAAH!" Tempest reels from the momentary feeling of being a sylph smoothie, long enough for Veronica to finish off the swarm and for MacLaren to channel a heal. She stands frozen, staring at the good Brother for a long moment, as a storm of conflicting emotions plays out across her face.

Finally, she takes a breath and sighs, "I appreciate the concern, and I don't necessarily mind the tactical movement. But was it REALLY necessary to put that thing on my head?!"

"Ellie!" Tempest rushes to Ellie's side to check up on her, making sure she's still breathing and offering her a potion before Mac swoops in with the healing spell. She does her best to help the half-elf up off the ground, once it's clear she's not in any danger of death.

At the call to action of the swarm, Tempest returns to form, the wind swirling around her and small arcs of static electricity reaching off of any patch of exposed skin it can.

"Well what are we waiting for?"

Tempest marches around to the door and unleashes a wide blast of lightning over the swarm.

Too many people in the way. Can't get a clear shot.

In a near-desperate desire to save Ellie, Tempest breaks ranks and charges through the line to the wall of the stockade, granting her an unobstructed view of the creature. "Let. Her. GO!"

Forgoing the more powerful lance, since it seems to be on its last legs, Tempest throws out her hand, throwing a quick bolt to (hopefully) end this battle.

As MacLaren steps back, Tempest steps up, getting a less obstructed view of the choker attacking Tucci. Again, she forms a lance of electricity in her hand, then launches it hoping to bring it down.

Tempest sighs and shakes her head as Tucci gets himself grabbed. She takes a moment to focus her magic, coalescing an orb of electricity in her hand. She squeezes it, collapsing it down until it springs out either side of her fist, forming a crackling rod not unlike a javelin. She smirks at the sight of it before looking back to the creature currently strangling Tucci. Raising her new bolt above her shoulder, she hurls it at the Vine Choker.

"If nothing else, it might be prudent to make a quick run back to the boat and bring it around to the beach. Easier than having to trudge back through the swamp. Well spotted, though. Probably also prudent to check and clear out any nasties, first."

She holds up the now-clean corset to her torso, "Who knows, there might be more neat clothing to gather up! Probably wishful thinking, though."

Tempest sighs tersely as the living corpses reveal themselves, "Oh. Great. Walking dead people."

Drawing on her connection with the living storm, she moves forward, alongside Mac, all but gliding across the ground as if carried by the wild winds that begin to whip up around her. Her eyes glow and flashes of light start to appear in her hair. From an outstretched hand, an arc of lightning emerges, directed at the undead woman nearest the trunk of the tree.

Tempest tires to continue along the pilings towards the other shore, but seems to lose her footing for a moment before recovering, "Ellie, you need a hand or are you good?"

Tempest is too busy keeping an eye on Tucci, and doesn't notice the vines above. The task at hand, though, doesn't seem to phase her.

Tempest fully enjoys the storm, spending the most of her time near the bow of the ship, or on the forecastle, unless she is actively helping one of the crew, or assisting Ellie. When the attack comes, she finds herself watching for rocks and reefs near the front. As the weird creature slithers its way onboard, she fixes it with an annoyed glare, "Really? Tempest shakes her head at the effort put into Plugg and Scourge's departure, muttering to herself, "Better than they deserve."

Before Rosie goes over, though, she approaches and rests a hand on her body, "I'm sorry, Rosie. Had I not caught you in my spell, you might still be with us. May the Sky Father's wind bear you safely to your final resting place."

Suddenly feeling the day's work catching up to her, she takes a moment to move her things to the Officers' Quarters before joining the conversation about where to head to next. "Give me a planned heading, and I'll see what kind of weather we'll be looking at in that direction. So long as it's not being unnaturally affected, I should be able to predict it."

Once she is advised, she closes her eyes a moment and tilts her head back, breathing deep of the sea air. When she reopens her eyes, she has to suppress a smile, "Looks like we're going to catch a storm tomorrow." She describes the direction of the winds and the severity, so that plans can be made to mitigate the effects.

With that, she dashes off, making no effort to wait for the man, focusing simply on her duties, and on the position of the Wormwood as it sinks into the distance. Just a little further...
