bomanz i think you misunderstand what most of the people are talking about. first off what is a "front liner"? what does that term mean, lets set defined peramiters as to what that means. i think a front liner is a character that can be in melee with a NPC and hold its own, atleast semi well. its not about armor class or DPR, but more about how well they can mitigate damage and harm the enemy. now assuming my definition of a "front liner" is the same as other posters, then i agree monks are the weakest melee character. for many reason that have been stated in past threads. id be willing to bet MA or dabbler would be willing to post links for those short commings. are they tanks, no are they DPR machines, no are the CMB masters,no what are they? well we know they are a melee class and have no real team support, so we cant even lump them in with bards or rogues. what the heck are they? well... i can make a grapple master, that sucks at everything else.
i mean they either have no focus (a core monk) or they are TOO FOCUSED because of an archetype that removes key abilities for cool narrowminded abilities. now this isnt to say you cant make a cool monk, just that it will suck compared to other classes like a bard or barbarian. ![]()

doesnt this seem like a contradiction? right now a monk needs to have a monk robe and AOMF to be "on par" with other classes... so why would adding one more make a difference? ![]()
touch ac is non physical armor bonuses, dex deflection luck ect.. flat footed is all physical armor bonuses, armor, shields, natural armor ect.. cmd is for non damaging attacks like trip, overrun, grapple, bull rush ect... cmd is your defense against them. and no you do not have SR (spell resistance) you should have 11 hp + favored bonus, if you chose the hit point. you get one more trait

yes, this is why it is an orc only archetype, and absolutly banned in PFS. its just about the greatest caster archetype created by paizo. and add in raging vitality for +2 more con. also if you really wanted to get what ever you were trying to hex, cast moment of greatness before. for a +12 to con while raging instead of just +6. ![]()
it looks good. you need to get a melee weapon, whether it be a dagger or a great sword, you will eventually need a melee weapon. i havent had to swim once in PFS so i would change swim to climb. item creation doesnt exsist in PFS so drop craft and keep profession architect. im also pretty sure rich parents is not allowed for traits, but i could be wrong about that. ![]()

In the adventure paths, u generally get 1 trait from the adventure path, and one trait from the APG or trait guide (they are the same thing). Do you think that two traits are the equivalant to a feat? And if they are would that then mean that you loose a feat? Traits seem to powerful to just get them for free. Thanks againSweet Dee |
