About Sterling Slivertongue
Sterling came to the city after his racket of making money off of travellers he guided was found to be a little... less than savory by his Trevagian brethren. He found a new way, starting out his life in the city. A fresh start, where he would meet a human girl on his first day in the city, and a man who would offer him a job that would promise to earn him some money.
Falling for that young human lady, who ran a local orphanage. It was a funny story of sorts, she found him in the streets, not seeing him fully and offering him a bed at the orphanage. Classic meet cute, fully grown halfling falls for a orphan's caregiver mistaking him for a child. His money kept the orphanage fed, and the taxes paid, it was all ill gained money. Even though he was the only thing keeping the orphanage open, the girl could never be with a criminal. Sterling still hopelessly loves her, and he did promise to keep the orphanage open... and he always keeps his word, which is why he rarely has money or possessions on him. Since the orphans do need to eat... He will lie if asked about where his money goes every month.
