@John is this a replayable scenario? From a GMing perspective, and as a player, I really need to know if that is the case, and what rules go along with it.

I'm not a big fan of a person being able to work with multiple factions, yet still be received as champions of a faction. Logically, a person wouldn't want somebody that plays the field into their inner circle. Having factions that are based more on a player's skillset, such as martial characters with the sword pfs group, casters with spell, etc.

ah... I guess if we are trying to kill off 1st Ed. this would be a good start. I know I'd stop playing it if unlimited replays were the norm...

As far as I've been informed, 1st edition loses all support, new content, support boons, etc. Just as there will be people that have time to play SFS, 1st, & 2nd edition indefinitely, just as many will be able to play only one system. For myself and others, 1st edition will all but die on Aug 2019. And everyday beyond will bring obscurity to the old system, because if you stick with 1st edition, you'll fall behind the player curve quickly. The 1st edition is officially dead in my eyes the day 2nd edition goes live, and only playing scenarios from 1st edition for fun is all that it will be. Not for special credit, not for cool chronicle boons, etc.

All those should become null and void, and not benefit 2nd edition at all. Because who will plays an unsupported edition when the new shiny improved version is available everywhere?

My bigger issue that everyone is saying is that PFS first edition will be around and still playable, etc.

I don't know how your local PFS community is, but mine plans to move to 2nd edition asap. So all of my PFS 1st edition is useless, unless I decide to drive an hour or so for a possible session out of town. And even then, it's all coming to a dead stop.

I really do love this idea.

I understand that being able to just slate over a whole 20+ character slate is going to be a problem but like....I also really dont want to have to completely restart the clock on my slowplayed -1 who is only just now reaching the highest levels.

Slapping a paint of PF2 paint on him and taking him back to level 2 would be...kinda blah honestly.

(This is setting aside that several of my most beloved characters are going to be just straight up impossible to convert for several years like my "Cleric" of Aroden who is actually a Mediumn, my Rose Warden, my Hellknight, and my Nagaji Samurai Ronin devoted to ending slavery everywhere)

I have this same issue. I've only been playing PFS v.1 for a 15 months now. Bought all of the books, GM'd as much as I could, bought all the maps, etc. My -1 is just about to start Eyes of the Ten, but it all feels useless now.

Change the way you can buy treasure. Stop allowing PCs to buy whatever they want. Building items into 20 level build plans is part of what makes PFS overpowered in my opinion. So somehow limit what can be purchased by what is found in adventures plus a small list of other things based on what's found.

With that said, if a flaming short sword is found, make sure a PC can apply flaming to whatever weapon they want. So its the enchantment that's found, not the weapon itself.

I agree. Many sheets in PFS have items listed that aren't necessary. Allow them to be accessible from the beginning (core book) and special items on the chronicle sheets

I also have a big issue losing the boons I have acquired. I originally, and naively, expected to be able to use earned Tiefling, Dampir, Samarsan, Grippli, & Suli boons, but I can only play on occasion, even less because I normally end up GMing when I am available for my local game store's PFS game day. I now have to find a way to use my hard earned boons by the end of 2019. Because I will be shocked if any store's will offer PFS 1st, 2nd & SFS for play. I've already been informed my local community will be moving on to second edition, and I've only been playing since December 17'. I feel like I've wasted my time & money trying to learn first edition and I'm just going to blow in the wind.

A thread for discussing why a new version/system pathfinder is being introduced.
