Spirit flies off Zarrick's hand and darts toward Grommund screeching in its high pitch voice. Once he gets to him he attempts to pull his hair. 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (1) + 5 = 6 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (10) + 5 = 15

I would assume Grommund is flat-footed because it was unexpected that the owl would attempt to grab him.
