As the words left the professor's lips, Sorzar would split into two of himself. One would leap onto his back, kicking off and sailing over the group and giving a wink to Rosemary. At the same time, Mirage would roar to life and would come sailing in towards the distracted girl.

"Sounds perfect to me. Hopefully, things go as planned. Distract, Divide, Hit A Lot. I like it."

Sorzar's aura would seem to shift, like sand being disturbed by a strong wind. He prepared himself, taking a slow and deep breath.

Sorzar pulls out Mirage, giving the cord a sharp pull and bringing the sawblade-like weapon to life. He looked over to Beoh as the girls formed their defensive wall, giving him a nod.

"When this starts, get your hands ready to toss me up above their heads. I'll try to break the wall." Sorzar had the makings of a plan, hopefully enough of one to make it work.

Sorzar frowns, looking at the girls with his lips pressed tightly together. He looks back at Tana and watches the way that she winces with a concerned, unhappy look upon his face.

"Tana, I know you're a badass. You tried to tackle and throw a bear. You didn't though but that thought, that thought counts." He looks to Onyxia, grinning and giving a nod. "Onyxia, you keep Tana safe. Zero in on a target together and try to take them down as fast as you can."

Looking back towards Beoh, he gave a nod and sighed.

"Yeah, they didn't jump out to me either Beoh. I'm going to guess they have excellent coordination together and they work well. I'll try to get one distracted and opened up, you come in hard and take them out. We'll rinse and repeat, fall back if it looks like Tana and Onyxia are having issues."

He looks at his team, that big grin quickly returning as he nodded once more with confidence oozing from him.

"Sound good? You sure you can fight right now Tana? No shame in letting us know otherwise."

Sorzar will pace a little bit and the rest of the team will see his shift in personality; there is still that excited manner in him that was almost childish but his movements had somewhat become more of a prowl.

"We observe them right now, look for the ones we'd be most effective against. If they're strong, we distract the ones we can and focus down their weaker links. Separate them and eliminate them." He looks over his shoulder at the others, grinning almost cheekily at that before he laughed. "Man, Beoh, you must be rubbing off on me."

His eyes return to the other team now, as he tries to study them the best he can.

Sorzar watched as this girl emerged onto the field, excited and absolutely ready to be out there first. Before Beoh has the chance to stare at him, Sorzar's hand is in the air after theirs.

"Team SBOT volunteers!" He shouts, grinning a toothy smile before looking over at the big man. "Go on, you wanted to get out there. Just remember, this is a spar." Stretching a bit, he makes his way out onto the sparring floor with a big smile stretched across his face.

Wounds: 0 Fatigue: 0 Parry: 6 (7) Toughness: 5 (1) Charisma: +2 (+0) Aura: 10/10 Notice: d6 Fighting: d8 Throwing: d8 Stealth: d4 Bennies: 3

Sorzar sat in the front of the class and listened quite intensively. Certainly, a few of the other student giggled to themselves as they expected the Faunus to rear back as soon as the professor’s booming voice took over, but they would find that he was generally unfazed. What was one boisterous man compared to twelve little brothers and sisters in a small house? He took his notes avidly and carefully, writing in shorthand with a practiced movement. His brother had taught him quick tricks for taking and leaving notes and ensuring they’d be difficult to decipher without his direct help. If Tana caught sight of it, perhaps she’d even notice the slightly militaristic style to it.

After the class, Sorzar would say goodbye to the few friends he made that braved being close enough to the professor to feel their skin vibrate with each new sentence and catch up with his team. There was an energetic eagerness to him as they finally arrived at the class he had been waiting for; combat training.

Switching out of his uniform and back into the white and gold armored clothing he had arrived in, Sorzar stood at the designated marking and bounced back and forth upon his heel. A big, wide, cheeky grin was upon his face as he awaited their next instruction from the impressive teacher.

Hey there folks! My girlfriend arrives this Monday to stay with me about two weeks. My posting will be infrequent during this time but I'll try to be up on things as best as I can.

Wounds: 0 Fatigue: 0 Parry: 6 (7) Toughness: 5 (1) Charisma: +2 (+0) Aura: 10/10 Notice: d6 Fighting: d8 Throwing: d8 Stealth: d4 Bennies: 3

"Getting good grades is still pretty badass..." Sorzar remarks, somewhat deflated though. He would listen in to the others as they told their stories and he would think back to the times that he had fought the Grimm. His stomach rolled slowly and he felt his appetite begin to wither away.

"I...I rather not talk about it." The little fox said, staring down at the floor from his top bunk. "I fought some before, tough fights here and there. Nothing special." He pulled his feet up and opened his scroll, looking for something else to focus on other than the topic at hand. He really didn't want to think about the first time he fought the Grimm, truly combated them.

Wounds: 0 Fatigue: 0 Parry: 6 (7) Toughness: 5 (1) Charisma: +2 (+0) Aura: 10/10 Notice: d6 Fighting: d8 Throwing: d8 Stealth: d4 Bennies: 3

Sorzar's scroll beeps and he opens it up, looking at the Professor's message and an almost fierce grin spreads across his face.

"Our first class! We get to show off how badass we are, the coolest kids on campus! It'll be the most excellent thing ever!"

Eagerly, he opens up his duffle bag and begins to hang things up. Everything he has seems to have a common theme; secondhand and hand-me-downs. Nothing looks new, some even look beat to hell, but he treats each one with love and careful consideration. Beside his bed, he puts up a series of pictures and it is easy to see Sorzar amidst his mother, father, and his siblings. All thirteen of them.

Wounds: 0 Fatigue: 0 Parry: 6 (7) Toughness: 5 (1) Charisma: +2 (+0) Aura: 10/10 Notice: d6 Fighting: d8 Throwing: d8 Stealth: d4 Bennies: 3

Sorzar smiled up at the big guy, nodding a little bit as he looked at the laughing students around them. Some Faunus, some Human, some fortunate, some not. When Beoh offered that he'd accept any punishment, Sorzar would spind around him and point a finger up towards his face.

"A punishment! Fine. I decree, as your team leader, that you are to do any social thing I tell you to. You are to try and enjoy it, so when you go back to your home, you can tell them of our strange, inane, useless, and wonderful ways and confuse them just as much as we confuse you!" He gave a solemn nod, narrowing his eyes as he speaks. "I expect total obedience of this demand."

The serious look would be immediately ruined by a friendly grin as he gives another friendly elbow nudge to the large man's thigh. "I didn't take any offense, Beoh. I know that things are...different...where you come from. Life is hard, it isn't full of laughing and it isn't a game. A lot of people don't know what it is like out there to struggle...how awful it can be." There was a sad tone in his words before he smiled again, nodding to the man. "You stay being you...minus the death threats of course. That ain't cool but they were jerkfaces, so I understand. I'll make sure to keep you all safe and to make us the best damn team that has ever graduated from Beacon Academy. Now...lets get to our dorms." He has a cheeky grin on his face as he walks, shrugging off the comment. "You should meet a Rabbit Faunus! Those guys...whooooo."

The door slams open and in comes Sorzar with a wide grin, arms spread out. "MY TEAM!" He shouts before rushing over and jumping onto Tana. "Holy crap guys! This is so exciting! I can't wait for our first tasks and get missions and to go to classes and check out Goodwitch's magnificent....strategies..." He says, wagging his eyebrows. "Oh! I got top bunk!" He climbs up the little ladder to the side, setting himself up on the top bunk. He would remember tha the left things outside and dragged out the heavy, worn dufflebag that contained everything he owned outside of the discus upon his back. "So? How is Team SBOT?"

Wounds: 0 Fatigue: 0 Parry: 6 (7) Toughness: 5 (1) Charisma: +2 (+0) Aura: 10/10 Notice: d6 Fighting: d8 Throwing: d8 Stealth: d4 Bennies: 3

Sorzar was in a relatively gloriously happy mood. Why wouldn't he be? After all, he had been selected as a team leader of SBOT. Sure, one member was a girl who tried to suplex an Ursa Major, the other was a shy girl who seemed too awkward to speak up, and the other considered himself to be a hunter supreme and threatened death at a moment's notice, but none of that seemed to wear down on the fox's shoulders. He stepped alongside the massive shape that was Beoh, grinning at the large man before he met the other faunus students within the cafeteria. It was impressive how quickly he ingratiated with them, learning and memorizing names with a moment's notice before leaving with an even bigger smile upon his face.- "You know, I think the rest of the year will be easy peasy. Sure, we had a bit of a rough start and all but now, now we're in the thick of it...ready to learn and ready to fight!" -He jumped up, giving a light punch to Beoh's shoulder in a friendly manner.- "So...what do you think our classes our going to be like? I think Professor Goodwitch is soooooo sexy. She has the look of a woman who could beat me and I'd still like it. You think the girls got to the dorm alright? I hope those jerkfaces didn't bother them any, I'd hate to ruin their confidence by beating the snot out of them. I think we went the wrong way too, maybe we should go back to the cafeteria." -The string of words flew out of the fox's mouth as he looked around, seemingly in awe of everything.-

Sorzar was about to continue his ramblings when he caught sight of the irritation upon the man's face. A frown appeared on Sorzar's but before he could speak, the man would leave them there.

"Oh...oh, okay. I'll catch you in our dorm then, buddy!" He shouts out towards him, pressing his lips together.

"He's too much like big bro. We'll need to keep him on the right path."

Turning, he goes searching for Tana and Onyxia, the grin quickly returning to his face.

Sorzar watches the screen with an equally wide smile to the picture that is presented, catching the creation of the team. His picture paired with Beoh presents a strange dichotomy of the Faunus, as he gives the mighty warrior a lovetap on the thigh.

"Don't you worry buddy, I'll be like a brother to ya! You can be my little brother, I'm used to having siblings. Got about eight little ones back home."

When Tana and Onyxia are selected as well, he lets out a cheer and whoop before his eyes widen when he is selected team leader.

"WHAT!?" He shouts before the biggest smile spreads across his face. "HolycrapbutIdidn'tevendoanythingohmygodIcan'twaittodothisI'msohappyIcoulds cream!"

Sorzar settled onto the airship, eagerly climbing into one of the hammock seats and staring out the window the whole time as they went back to the academy. "You think so! Oh man, I'll keep watch then!" With a pep in his step, he moves away from them and keeps an eye out. His smile immediately fades though and he thinks on what he overheard. "White Fang? Here? Why? Do they know I'm here? What is their goal, why would they attack a Hunter initiation? I'll have to keep an eye out for something strange, maybe there is even someone infiltrating the school then." Quietly and cautiously, he'll look over each Faunus with a careful gaze but keep his eyes on the perimeter. After all, the trap was a failure and to strike now would probably be redundant.

"....and that is why I can't eat pizza anymore. It was everywhere and awful." Sorzar says as he makes it to the top of the hill beside Beoh, looking across the others and smiling with his artifact in hand. When Oobleck makes that "proclamation", Sorzar winces as walks over to Tana, shaking his head. "They got your hoochie coochie? That sounds awful. At least it is...stitched together right? Yay?"

He puts on a big smile and clasps the girl by the shoulder, nodding. "You were amazing and incredibly brave. You'll do great on whatever team you end up with." His attention turns to the others that he fought alongside with, nodding to each of them. "You all will. You guys are fantastic. I hope to be as good as you all, I felt pretty useless down there but...every fox has his day right? I could've been hit in the uterus too!"

Sorzar stands behind Professor Goodwitch, nodding sternly and empathetically with each scolding that she does. He does mumble when she mentions that any fight will be met with detention and that a conflict between the students is forbidden. He walks beside the whistling Beoh, smiling at the big guy before he gives him a slight punch to the thigh in an act of camaraderie.

"Not bad, big guy. Didn't even eat someone's face. I'm proud of you."

And he refuses to stop talking, telling a tale of running around the city and trying to avoid little obstacles left by the other applicants.

Sorzar seems to visibly relax at Shamrock's comment, his face breaking into a wider smile as he gives a little nod. "Good. Very good." All the irritation that the young faunus had seems to dissipate immediately, as he turns his attention back towards Professor Goodwitch. The woman still seemed to be surveying the scene.

Of course the little jerk would turn invisible, of course he would. It would at least seem to be that tensions were lessening and both parties were willing to let it be. Sorzar seems to visibly relax, waving off the invisible man without another care before looking up at Beoh with a big smile.

"Thanks, big guy. I know that was hard to do and I appreciate it." Sorzar pats the man's chest with his more usual grin, turning just in time to see Professor Goodwitch land and begin her questioning. She struck an impressive figure but Sorzar seemed undeterred as he approached the woman.

"Those guys..." Sorzar would say, pointing at the still visible members of the opposing force. "...are a bunch of a#%#+~@s. Except that one in the back there, I don't know about her. She seems like decent folk."

"We fought a whole swarm of Grimm and even this giant spidery one, which was AWESOME, and we all worked real well together and fought nice and hard. Then when we won, wounded and tired, those jerkfaces came up and tried to take all the relics that they could because they're jerkfaces and it heightens their sense of entitlement, I guess." The irritation was apparent as he vented towards the Professor, shaking his head. "So, there was some...uhh...diplomacy made and we came to an understanding to not try and punch each other in the face right now. Except that weaselly guy, I'm going to punch him in the face as soon as possible." Sorzar's word vomit finally seems to slow down as he looks up at the woman, suddenly feeling sheepish. "So...that...that about sums it up. Did we win? Is Tana okay?"

"Killers?" Sorzar murmurs for a moment, the main man being ignored as he hears Beoh speak. Like the other guy was less important now, Sorzar doesn't pay attention to the fight going on and moves towards Beoh.

Both Sorzar and his clone stand in front of the large Faunus, looking up at him with a serious look in their eye. There is no smirk upon his face, no mirth within those bright eyes. They stare at the man hard and long before he speaks.

"We don't kill them. Not over things, not over trinkets. We're not mindless animals Beoh, we don't kill unnecessarily." He gestures to everyone's reactions, the rising bravado within the room. The escalations between each other. "We're hunters, we hunt the Grimm. We do it to protect others. Protect those who can't be protected."

Reaching out, he'd place a hand on the Beoh's weapon, still trying to hold that gaze with him. "Let them go. I'm always down for a scuffle, but not like this."

He looks back at the other man, shaking his head in disappointment. "You should be ashamed. Calling yourselves hunters. Go and take what you have, we keep what else is on the ground. No harm, no blood, no worries. If you don't, I can't say what will happen...but is this really what you want?

Secondly, I have a +2 to my roll for the Faunus in the enemy group. They don't dislike other Faunus. Same goes to either of the humans if they don't dislike us, per say or feel uncomfortable around us.

The boy steps closer to Sorzar and the little Faunus stares up at him, fearlessness in his eyes. His lip stays in a small snarl and the fox ears twitch slightly as he whispers. There isn't that chiding, taunting tone in his voice. It is instead something low, the voice almost dreadfully quiet.

"Listen boy, I've seen things you can't imagine. If this is how you'll hunt, you're useless. Go home, go do something productive, but don't try to act like you're a big shot."

The last Grimm falls apart, the pieces landing on the ground. There is only the silence of the cavern with the faint sound of the monsters disappearing.

"Well, at least we looked cool at the end..." Sorzar murmurs to his other self, the clone nodding as their attention is pulled to the others that emerge from the cave. A small growl escapes his throat as she moves so nonchalantly, the little Faunus examining their foes like a predator would.

Moving quickly among the others, as Felix reaches for one of the relics that got away, the white boot of both Sorzars land upon it. Those sharp eyes look down at him as he speaks.

"Hiding in the back like prey? I thought I was the sneaky fox here, didn't know our kind came in chicken." His attention turns to the arrogant boy and the bored girl, a disdainful look upon Sorzar's face as he speaks with a sneer. "When you go out hunting, are you going to wait in the back while the Grimm attack and just tell the others you 'showed up late'? I mean, the coat button trick is really neat and not totally obvious."

Sorzar quietly looks amongst the others, gauging what they're doing so far. Against four others, even the confidence that him and his clone have feels a bit shaky. Perhaps they'd take the opportunity to get around them or they'd think otherwise. Don't poke a bear too much till you realize what the other wolves were doing.

I'm going to try and taunt them, see if I can get them riled enough to be distracted or at least focused on Sorzar. There are much scarier, bigger members of the group around and he rather they have a chance to be in a better position than this.

Sorzar watches as the others sail through the air, teleporting in and out of combat, rescuing one another, and his eyes remain wide and open the whole time. "This is what it is like to be with other Hunters." The humbling moment was gone as the last beowolf aims for Shamrock, its claws raking against the wall of the cavern.

Splitting into two again, the clone and the real Sorzar move in as Shimmer rips back into life once more and shifts into the chained death weapon known as Mirage.

"Pleasedon'tsuck, pleasedon'tsuck, pleasedon'tsuck" Sorzar murmurs again and again as the ripping yo-yos are swung outwards towards the remaining Grimm.

Doing a Wild Attack on both attacks. Getting an additional +2 for my clone and Shamrock being in close combat.

Sorzar watched as the Ursa Major turned to dust, focusing in again on himself. A second version of himself split outwards, looking back towards the original with a grin.

"How are things going?" He asked, making the original Sorzar sigh and shake his head. "We're looking awful right now! We haven't done anything!"

With a nod, the two of them turn towards the hole and leap down, the chains snapping together and returning into Shimmer. The sharp blades catch into the wall, slowing their descent enough to land in the hole.

Turning towards the remaining Grimm, the clone and Sorzar throwing their shields with all their might. Flying through the air, the massive discuses cut along the Grimm.

If the spider is still alive, attacks will favor him. Leftover attacks will target the last beowolf in the pit. Range is 3/6/12 so apply penalties as appropriate.

The clone's attack hits the wall wrong though, circling back too quickly and dangerously. "Aw crap..." It mutters before the blade smashes through the clone, both turning into sand that fades to nothing.

Seeing the trouble that Tana was in and the sheer brutality that his clone was destroyed, Sorzar rushes in with Mirage and swings the motorized, vicious yo-yo at the beast.

Doing another Wild Attack. With Tana and Beoh engaging the Ursa Major, I get an additional +2 for gang up.

Wild Attack: 1d8 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 + 2 = 8
Wild Die: 1d6 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 + 2 = 9

"C'mon baby! LET HER RIPPPPP!!!!" Sorzar cheers, the blades tearing against Grimm flesh and carapace.

Damage: 1d6 + 2d4 + 2 ⇒ (3) + (2, 2) + 2 = 9

And the blades skip off again, the attack just not finding the right place to tear into the Ursa Major.

"HAHAHAHAHAHA!" Sorzar laughs in equal parts terror and actual excitement. He shift along the Ursa Major's form, distracting it as he dodges one sharp claw after another. "Oh man...this was such a bad idea..." Sorzar says in between nervous giggles.

The small faunus will leap into the air, Mirage spinning through the air. As he reaches the apex of his height...

Semblance: 1d8 ⇒ 5
Wild: 1d6 ⇒ 4

And like an extra layer of sand falling off of him, a clone of Sorzar appears and they both come swinging down with their weapons cross over one another's paths.

Wild Attack: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6
Wild Die: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4

Extra's Attack: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (7) + 3 = 10

Going to guess I hit and guess the Extra hits with a raise? -is hopeful-

My Damage: 1d6 + 2d4 + 2 ⇒ (3) + (3, 1) + 2 = 9

Extra's Damage With Raise: 1d6 + 2d4 + 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (2) + (1, 1) + (2) + 2 = 8

That...is the most amazing damage ever. -_-

Status:

Sorzar rushes in with the rest of the group as all hell seems to break loose, the altar shifting as the ground cracks and explosions occur off in the woods. The Grimm seem to be flocking in towards the altar, ready to kill, and a small growl echoes from the eager Faunus. He takes a moment to focus though, reforming his semblance for the moment at hand.

Spirit: 1d8 ⇒ 5
Wild: 1d6 ⇒ 1

A puff of sand will seem to shimmer and coalesce into another Sorzar, his eyes white and unnatural and this almost mirage-effect to his body. The two nod at each other and split off, the real one going to fight while the fake one moved to the altar.

As Carmine began to plummet, the fake Sorzar would hop down to the ground and grab onto the technologically brilliant recruit. "Just hold on friend, I got you." He would then kick up off of the falling platform, using the walls and whatever else he could to bounce his way back to the top.

The real Sorzar would rev his Mirage, the blades circulating along it as he gave a grin. "This is more what I'm talking about!" He rushes over to where Beoh is, standing above his knocked down friend and against the Ursa Major. He waits for the massive beast to strike, using his agility to hop onto its arms every time it attacks and causing it to double back onto itself.

Agility Trick: 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4
Wild Die: 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 = 7

The Ursa Major needs to make a contested Agility roll. If he fails, he has a -2 to his parry. If I win with a raise, he also is Shaken.

Sorzar will leap from the branch he travels upon, catching the sight of the Beowulf that attempts to strike at his companion. It is almost shocking, the ferocious look on the little Faunus's face, as he roars out in anger that is only matched by the sudden rev of Mirage.

He swings it low, along the ground, and the blades catch quickly into the earth. Tearing along the ground like a heavily-bladed wheel, it spins at incredible velocity towards the exposed back of the Beowulf. With a quick flick of Sorzar's wrist, the chain snaps and the bladed yo-yo of death leaps up and tries to bury itself into the Grimm's back.

Attacking with a Wild Attack, getting an additional +1 thanks to Tora being there for gang-up bonus.

Wild Attack![/d: 1d8 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 2 + 1 = 8
Wild Die: 1d6 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 2 + 1 = 6

Damage: 1d6 + 2d4 + 2 ⇒ (6) + (3, 3) + 2 = 14
Ace!: 1d6 + 14 ⇒ (2) + 14 = 16

I am assuming it is Grimm chunks

Sorzar would watch as Mirage traveled up the Grimm's spine, cutting a terrible and gory exit before ripping out the left shoulder into the air. A sharp yank on the chain brings it back down towards him, the weapon swinging in a loop in the air as he looks to Tora.

"You alright Tora?" Sorzar didn't have much time to ask though, as the ground seemed to heave hard underneath him and he felt the earth shudder hard. "That ain't good. C'mon! Let's go!" He would run with Tora, moving towards where the altar was and where there would luckily be more recruits for him to fight alongside with against whatever that noise was.

Even in fear of having too many cooks in the kitchen, I decided that I'd write a post about how dice work in Savage Worlds. Later, I'll do a write-up of what actions can be done in combat, so on and so forth.

For -almost- every roll you make, you are going to be rolling your Ability/Skill die and one Wild Die. If you're rolling Agility, you're rolling Agility and a Wild Die. If you're rolling fighting, you're rolling Fighting and a Wild Die. If you're firing a mini-gun with a Rate of Fire of 5, you're rolling FIVE Shooting dice and ONE Wild Die (You only get one Wild Die per action and automatic fire is one action).

The Wild Die will always be a D6 until much later when Edges that you take care change it. Whatever modifiers are affecting your roll also affect your Wild Die, both good and bad. The only time you do not usually roll a Wild Die is when you roll Damage. That is its own beast in itself.

Whenever you roll maximum upon a die, it is called "Acing" or "Aceing". I don't know, I'm sure someone will correct me :P. Regardless, what it means is you get to roll that dice again and add the newly rolled total back to it's maximum. If I roll a d8, get an Ace (8), and then roll a 7, then I rolled a 15. You keep rolling the die until you no longer get Aces (which leads to some insanely high and awesome rolls).

When you roll, you take the result of either your Ability/Skill die or your Wild Die, whichever is higher. So if you rolled an 11 on your d12 but rolled a 6, another 6, and then a 4, you'd take the Wild Die because it rolled a 16 and rolled higher. The Wild Die can only ever replace one die, so if you automatic fire and miss a bunch and the Wild Die hits...it only replace ONE of the missed die.

Getting a RAISE is when you get four or more higher on your roll than is needed for the task. Most tasks have a Target Number (TN) of 4. You either do it really flashy, get more results than usual, have a special effect happen, something along that line. When you get a RAISE in combat, you get an extra d6 to roll for damage.

Damage is rolled all together and added together. Sorzar's weapon is STR + 2d4. If I hit an enemy's Parry (which is their TN) by four or more, I would roll a d6 (for my STR), 2d4 (for my weapon), and an extra d6 for the raise plus any modifiers! This will give me a ton of damage to pump out! However, you could also be hit by something like this, since Savage Worlds' motto is "Fast, Fun, Furious". Combat is quick and deadly but luckily...we have Bennies.

Bennies are used for two main purposes; to reroll rolls and to soak damage. When you spend to reroll, you always keep the best roll and you can reroll as much as you'd like as long as you have bennies. Soaking is when you take damage and want to negate it. Your Toughness is how difficult you are to hurt, what they need to roll in order to Shaken you and cause Wounds. If you had a Toughness of 11 and were hit by my attack, I'd have to roll an 11 in total to even shaken you, 15 to hurt you!

How you Soak wounds (so you don't take them permanently and you avoid the negative Wound modifier) is you spend a benny, you roll your Vigor and a Wild Die with your current Wound Modifier as a negative on the roll. SW follows the mindset that the more hurt you are, the easier you are to take out. You negate a wound by rolling a Four and can negate additional wounds by rolling Raises (8 negates two wound, 12 negates 3, 16 negates 4). You can never take more wounds than the total wounds you have left, meaning you have the potential to take 4 wounds right off the bat (-1 Wound, -2 Wound, -3 Wound, Incapacitated). If you already have two wounds and get hit, the most you would ever have to soak from that attack is TWO wounds (albeit with a -2 from your two existing injuries). You have to Soak Wounds right when it happens, you cannot choose to later.

Bennies are replenished every sessions, most players have three bennies. You gain more for excellent roleplay, roleplaying your hindrances, and whenever the GM gosh darn feels like it!

I hope that helps explain some things, the system is really easy just hard to explain and not just show. If anyone has any questions, please let me know and I'll try to answer them for you!

Scythe and I were talking and we were discussing possibly incorporating the "Heavy Armor" tag to help with the Aura issue. I like the soaking with it that is currently in there, I'm just worried that I'll see it more as life points rather than points to do cool/neat/bamf things with.
