Female Human (Kef) Cleric 1

Slandra collects her share of the money with a smile and dumps it into her bag. "I've never been to a fancy dinner before," she says. "Are there any special rules? I think he said that we don't stand on ceremony. What should we stand on then?"

Female Human (Kef) Cleric 1

"I like fish and bacon," Slandra blurts out before Markus can respond. "We will come!"

"For certain... I intend to learn more about the habits and nature of this giantkin during after our time with the Baron." Markus replies.

"Giantkin?" Slandra says. "There's a giantkin as well as an ogre? We have our work cut out for us! We should start immediately!"

Female Human (Kef) Cleric 1

Slandra comes down to breakfast looking cheerful, but kind of haggard. She's still covered in dirt and blood from the day before, having apparently not bothered to clean up overnight. She digs into the bacon and bread eagerly.

"I didn't know lords and mayors are pretty," she responds to Wynn. "Why do you not want to deal with pretty people? What difference does it make if they are pretty or ugly?"

Female Human (Kef) Cleric 1

"Oh!" Slandra exclaims. "That makes more sense."

Female Human (Kef) Cleric 1

"Oh, I see," Slandra says. "I get mixed up sometimes. What do you mean by...um...boun-ty...of our deeds?"

Female Human (Kef) Cleric 1

Slandra is in favour of selling the loot. There's not really anything in there that she particularly wants.

Slandra happily partakes of food, but only a little drink. She is enthusiastic, too, during Markus's retelling of the battle, sometimes slipping in her only little comments and anecdotes to go along with his.

"We should go as soon as we are rested," she replies to Wynn. "It would not be right to wait." She looks to Markus. "He is the one we saw before, yes?"

Female Human (Kef) Cleric 1

Slandra makes the rounds of the fallen bandits, checking to see if any are still living. She'll cast stabilize on any that are alive and let the others know. Then she'll help gather the loot together.

Finally, she'll channel energy to heal any of our party who are injured.
Channel Energy: 1d6 ⇒ 1

Seeing that her channelling has only minimal effect, she sighs and shakes her head sadly. "It is punishment for running away yesterday. I will pray for forgiveness."

Female Human (Kef) Cleric 1

I'm a bit unsure if Slandra has a clear path to charge #4. If she does, that's what she'll do. Otherwise, she'll just double move up to him.

Longsword, charge: 1d20 + 3 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (20) + 3 + 1 + 2 = 26
Damage: 1d8 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 2 + 1 = 7
Critical confirm: 1d20 + 3 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (20) + 3 + 1 + 2 = 26
Additional Damage: 1d8 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 2 + 1 = 9
Wow! I really hope she's able to do that charge!

Status:
HP 10/10; AC 14 if she charges, 16 if not; CMD 11

Female Human (Kef) Cleric 1

As the leader drops before her, Slandra turns to #2 and continues her assault.

Longsword at bandit #2, flanking: 1d20 + 3 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (7) + 3 + 1 + 2 = 13
Damage: 1d8 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 2 + 1 = 11

Status:
HP 10/10; AC 16; CMD 11

Female Human (Kef) Cleric 1

Slandra continues attacking the bandit leader.

Longsword at leader: 1d20 + 3 + 1 ⇒ (20) + 3 + 1 = 24
Damage: 1d8 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 2 + 1 = 10

Critical confirm: 1d20 + 3 + 1 ⇒ (10) + 3 + 1 = 14
Additional damage: 1d8 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 2 + 1 = 5

Female Human (Kef) Cleric 1

Slandra moves out from behind Markus and Argentus and goes at the leader.

Move to S13.
Longsword at leader: 1d20 + 3 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 3 + 1 = 11
Damage: 1d8 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 2 + 1 = 7

These actions are on the assumption the leader survived Markus and Argentus's attacks. If he didn't, then she moves instead to S12 (standing over the fallen leader) and attacks Bandit 2 in S11.

Status:
HP 10/10; AC 16; CMD 11

Female Human (Kef) Cleric 1

"Leave some for me!" Slandra cries as she tries to catch up from behind. Double move to T15.

Status:
HP 10/10; AC 16; CMD 11

Female Human (Kef) Cleric 1

Slandra smiles. "The gods are with us. These bandits will go down easily." She casts divine favour on herself.

Female Human (Kef) Cleric 1

Slandra frowns slightly. "I think quiet ones should go around to cut off retreat. Argentus is big and not quiet. Wynn is better for that."

Female Human (Kef) Cleric 1

Spells Prepared:
Level One: divine favour, enlarge person (domain), magic weapon
Level Zero: bleed, guidance, stabilize

Slandra comes down eagerly and cheerfully in the morning. Once everyone is gathered together in one place (or at least all the ones who need healing), she will channel energy.

Channel energy: 1d6 ⇒ 4

Female Human (Kef) Cleric 1

During her prayers at midnight, Slandra also apologizes for not chasing after the fleeing bandits. "I know I probably would not have caught them, but I should have tried." She also adds a general request to all the gods to make Markus speak with fewer and simpler words, and to treat his servant better.

I don't recall if we had figured out when Slandra gets her spells and such back, and do Channels returns at the same time? I would assume so to keep everything part and parcel. Given that Menuo is a Moon God, I would say almost any time save Noon would probably be appropriate.

I was thinking midnight would make a good time (actually moonrise would be really awesome, but as that time changes every day, it would be a massive headache to keep track of; besides, the rules specify that clerics choose a specific time that's the same every day). It means she has to interrupt her sleep, but I like the flavour of it. It also makes her a good choice for middle watches during the night.

Slandra does listens carefully to everything that is said, but is clearly confused at points. However, Kristaps's direct question to her is easy to understand and she brightens up considerably as she answers. "Midnight. We should rest at least until then. My teachers always said that running into battle wounded and tired was very bad. You might as well just kill yourself."

Female Human (Kef) Cleric 1

Slandra only accepts one mug of ale and passes on any additional purchased for her to other patrons in the bar. She listens intently to Kristaps tell the story of what happened. "But that's not quite how it happened," she says on a couple of occasions, but doesn't press the situation.

After Wynn enters and proceeds up the stairs, Slandra leans over to Kārlis. "I don't understand her words. What are we supposed to restrain? Did she capture another bandit and we need to tie it up? Where is this bandit?"

Markus Vangazi wrote:
Turning to his mount he beings to prepare him for travel. "We should seek the services of the healer Vanags before we return to town... we would look as cowards in this state."

Slandra goes over to him and slaps his hand away from his gear. "You must rest or you will get worse," she says. "I will prepare your horse."

She turns to the horse and stares at it for a few moments. She reaches out a couple of times, then stops and pulls her hand back. Finally, she sighs and says, "Kārlis, you look after the horse. I will handle the other supplies."

Female Human (Kef) Cleric 1

"But you are still hurt!" Slandra calls after the departing Wynn. With a frown, she watches her go. "But very brave," she adds softly.

She begins to examine the items carried by the bandits and the things in the bandit camp. "There are many weapons here if anyone needs new ones," she says to no one in particular. She picks up a pot, looks at it with a frown, and tosses it aside. "And useless stuff." She finds a few coins. "Oh, but there's money!" She holds up a crown and a silver wolf. "Two kinds!"

Female Human (Kef) Cleric 1

"Maybe keep one alive to tell use where the others ran," Slandra says. She starts checking the fallen bandits. The first one she finds alive, she'll cast stabilize on. After that, she'll slit the throats of any remainder still alive.

"Gather everyone close together, she says when she's done with the bandits. "Except, not bandits. They're dead. Most of them. Except that one." She indicates the one she left alive (assuming there was one still alive to leave alive). "He's alive, but don't bring him close."

Once everyone's close together, she'll channel energy twice to heal people.
Channel energy: 1d6 ⇒ 1
Channel energy: 1d6 ⇒ 2
That's 3 hp total back to everyone. Sigh. What wonderful rolls!

Although it's enough to heal herself fully, she sees that it's hardly done any good to anyone else at all. "Menuo is angry at us for not chasing the others down," she grumbles. "That is all I can do for today." She's out of channel energy for the day now.

Female Human (Kef) Cleric 1

Ack! So did I!

Slandra looks over in start, then hurries towards the fallen brother. As soon as she is within range (25 feet), she casts stabilize on him.

Female Human (Kef) Cleric 1

Slandra looks back confused. "But if we don't chase, how will we catch him?" Realising that she probably can't catch up to the bandit anyway, she reluctantly turns away and returns to the others' sides.

She bends down beside Markus and lays her hands on his chest. "May Menuo let you fight again."

Switch out command for cure light wounds: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2

Seeing that the healing is only minimal, she scowls and mutters, "Menuo obviously wanted us to chase the bandit."

Status:

Female Human (Kef) Cleric 1

"Don't let him get away!" Slandra yells. She quickly casts stabilize on Markus (I know he's already stable, but she doesn't) and then moves after the leader. Move 20 feet directly towards the leader.

Female Human (Kef) Cleric 1

Sandra grimaces slightly as a sword cuts into her. "That's all you get!" she says as she strikes again at #5.

Longsword: 1d20 + 3 + 1 ⇒ (17) + 3 + 1 = 21
Damage: 1d8 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 2 + 1 = 11

Slandra turns her attention to #5.

Damage: 1d8 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 2 + 1 = 7

Status:

Female Human (Kef) Cleric 1

Slandra grimaces as she sees Markus slump over in his saddle. "You fiends will pay for that!" she yells and presses her attack against #2.

Longsword: 1d20 + 3 + 1 ⇒ (18) + 3 + 1 = 22
Damage: 1d8 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 2 + 1 = 9

It's Slandra's turn. Sorry about forgetting you were on the horse.[/ooc]

I figured you were assuming she had got off the horse just before they arrived, which was fine by me as that's what I would have had her do anyway, and only didn't because it seemed to have happened anyway. :)

Slandra dismounts , trying to get into a position to attack one of the bandits nearest Markus and the horse. (This may attract an AoO depending on the exact relative positioning.) Then she swings her sword.

Longsword: 1d20 + 3 + 1 ⇒ (10) + 3 + 1 = 14

Female Human (Kef) Cleric 1

Slandra will cast magic weapon on her sword.

Female Human (Kef) Cleric 1

"A good plan," Slandra says as she trudges noisily through the brush. She's clearly trying to move quietly, but stealth is not one of her strengths. "Without their leader, they will not know what to do."

Female Human (Kef) Cleric 1

Slandra begins tying the bandits to the cart. She seems quite amused by their predicament. "You should pull hard," she tells them, "so that the cart does not run you over."

Wynn just went around as Slandra tied bandits :P ...also...am i fully healed by the blessing? partly? bueller?

You got 6 hp back from Slandra's channel energy. If that's enough to put you back at full, then you're fully healed! I didn't keep track of everyone else's damage, I'm afraid. :)

Female Human (Kef) Cleric 1

Slandra seems a bit confused by Markus's intentions, but she follows him over to the bandit. After he begins speaking to the prisoner, she looks at him with a frown on her face. When she speaks, it's hard to be sure whether she's finally understood what he wants of her or whether she's still confused. Either way, it has the right basic effect as she takes on an intimidating stance. "You make no sense," she tells Markus. "You are cruel to the servant who helps you, and nice to the bandit who tries to kill you. It should be the other way round. You should tell the bandit that you will cut his throat if he does not talk. If you do not, then I will."

Take 10 on Intimidate for 15 total.

Female Human (Kef) Cleric 1

"They can tell us where their leaders are," Slandra says. When she's finished stabilizing the bandits, she looks to the others. "Do we have rope to tie them up so they do not run?"

Assuming somebody has some rope, she then carefully ties each surviving bandit's hands and feet. When that's done, she calls to the others. "Gather close. I will ask Menuo to heal us." Once everyone who wants healing has gathered close, she channels energy.

Channel energy: 1d6 ⇒ 6
1/3 used

If she was able to tie the bandits up, she will channel in range of them, hopefully bringing them to consciousness so they can be questioned. If no rope was available, she will move aside so that the bandits are not in range.

Female Human (Kef) Cleric 1

Slandra begins checking the bodies. If she finds any still alive, she'll cast stabilize on them.

She'll take 10 on any Heal checks needed for 13 total. This will take her several rounds to complete (unless she's interrupted first).

Female Human (Kef) Cleric 1

Oops, sorry. Holidays hit and I got distracted.

Slandra looks about ready to take off after the fleeing bandits, but then lowers her sword and sighs. "I am not dressed for running," she says and sheaths her sword.

Female Human (Kef) Cleric 1

Difficult Terrain: 1d100 ⇒ 34

Slandra tries to duck behind #6 to flank, but there's too much brush and branches underfoot. Realizing that moving and keeping up her defences will be too awkward, she stays put and attacks.

Longsword: 1d20 + 3 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 3 + 1 = 11
Damage: 1d8 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 2 + 1 = 9

Her attack is only slightly better placed this time. But still probably not enough to hit.

Status:

Female Human (Kef) Cleric 1

Quick note to Markus: Criticals multiply the number of times you roll, not the result, so you should roll 2d8+10, not (1d8+5)x2. In pbp, since you might not know for sure you got a critical, it's sometimes easier to separate the rolls to two rolls of 1d8+5 and 1d8+5 (makes it easier for the GM to see non-critical damage if needed). :)

With a growl, Slandra follows after #6.

5-ft step to K23.
Longsword: 1d20 + 3 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 3 + 1 = 7
Sigh.

Slandra yells in frustration as she fails yet again to catch the bandit.

Female Human (Kef) Cleric 1

With a yell, Slandra steps up, raises her sword, and swings at the nearest bandit.

5-ft step to J24. Attack bandit 6.
Longsword with divine favour: 1d20 + 3 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 3 + 1 = 7
Damage: 1d8 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 2 + 1 = 6

Female Human (Kef) Cleric 1

Slandra pauses momentarily in her approach to clutch her holy symbol and call out loudly to Menuo. Then she continues moving forward.

Cast divine favour on herself (+1 luck bonus to attack and damage for 1 minute) then move to I25.

AC 16; HP 7/10

Female Human (Kef) Cleric 1

Slandra struggles to catch up to the action.

Double move to I29.

Female Human (Kef) Cleric 1

Ack! I missed that Karlis is delaying so was waiting for him to do something before posting an action. Infinite apologies!

"Maybe so, but we could still take you if you outnumbered us two to twenty!" Slandra calls back, obviously having just as little clue what the numbers mean as the bandit. She draws her sword and advances forward (to I37).

Female Human (Kef) Cleric 1

Slandra smiles and almost jumps for joy as the men appear from the forest. "You have fallen into our trap, bandits!" she announces. "Surrender now and we will let you live." Her hand hovers over the pommel of her sword as she stares intently at the one who spoke.

Slandra has Knowledge (religion) too! It's one of the very few skills she does have. :)

Knowledge (religion): 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4
Nevermind. :(

Slandra hops into the cart eagerly. "I will be ready for anyone who attacks us!" she declares. "I will stab them through the heart and cut off their heads!" She waves her hand around, miming attacking with her sword. "The bandits will die!" She grins.

Female Human (Kef) Cleric 1

Sorry for the slowness in the last week, folks.

Wise Owl wrote:
Kristaps and Kārlis talk for a second, and look over at Slandra's little pile as well. "Hmm, we should be able to afford it? I think I can find one pretty cheap, seems to be plenty around, I'm sure the lumber mill has to have a spare one at a bare minimum. Want me to go see if I can grab one?" Kristaps asks, looking on expectantly.

Slandra nods excitedly. "I want a cart!"

She then clues into Markus looking her over. "What do you mean too fearsome? How can I fight bandits if I am not fearsome? Fearsome means frightening, right? Or does it mean not frightening? Oh, that would be bad. But I look frightening, don't I?"

Female Human (Kef) Cleric 1

"How much does a cart cost?" Slandra asks. "I have some money." She starts looking through her coins, peering closely at them. There is some gold amongst them.

Female Human (Kef) Cleric 1

Slandra bounds out of bed in the morning, grabs her things and heads to breakfast with the others. She briefly runs her fingers through her hair to straighten out some of the worst knots and tangles that have appeared overnight. At breakfast, she gulps down her food quickly and eagerly, nodding at Kristaps's suggestions, and then nodding again at Markus's.

"I am not very sneaky," she says. "My father always says he can hear me coming a mile away. I don't think that's true because then he would be able to hear me when we're not actually in the same place, but he is right that I am not sneaky. I will make a good target though. The bandits can come after me and then we all get them by surprise."

Female Human (Kef) Cleric 1

Slandra nods. "Sleep, then we..." She cuts off suddenly as she starts to yawn. "Yes, sleep," she says afterwards. "I'm sleepy." She continues yawning repeatedly for the journey back to the inn.

Female Human (Kef) Cleric 1

Slandra laughs, spurting out the tea she's just sipped. "That's silly!" she says. "Why would we court doom? I don't intend to meet doom. I intend to kill the bandits. And the ogre. And any goblins we meet too."
