Hello,

I'm new to the Pathfinder Setting and I could use advice. Where is the equator located on the inner sea region? What about the arctic circle equivalents?

Is there any information about the general yearly weather patterns of the inner sea region? I was thinking of using the demographics of the northern Africa and European regions to create a rough yearly weather template.

Is there any information on the world's moon? Like a name? It seems that the calendar is based on Gregorian themes of Earth as opposed to Golarian uniqueness. Therefore I assume that the Golarian moon is roughly like Earth's moon. Any thoughts?

Please and thank you in advance.

Hello all,

Can anyone point me to 3.5 or pathfinder stats for the Lurker Above and/or the Trapper? Also, can someone point me to artwork of these monsters.

Does anybody still use these critters?

Thanks in advance.

Did this ship to people that placed pre-orders way back in late fall? Did they also get the discount mentioned earlier?

I noticed that this (and the map folio) no longer appears on my account information, and that I did not receive notice of its shipping.

Any info would be greatly appreciated.

I was thinking that someday I might run the SCAP. I have all the original Dungeon issues/material. Should I also purchase the hardcover? Is it worth it? I think having it all under one cover seems best, but the price is a bit steep for only a few nuggets of new info. What should I do?

Also, will I be able to buy the SCAP hardcover from Paizo after August of this year after WoTC resumes control of Dungeon?

Thanks for the insight in advance!

Cheers.

As I am coming closer to running the STAP, I have decided to play up the environmental themes and color. I am looking for information or suggestions, official or otheriwse, regarding the temperatures and weather of the region. How many hours of day light are there daily? As one gets closer to the equator the days and nights tend to be of equal length.

What time of year does the AP begin? Does it matter? How hot and humid is the Isle of Dread? Sasserine? According to an online map that shows the Greyhawk longitude/latitude lines, the Isle of Dread may be in the southern hemisphere very near the equator. Thots?

Lavinia: How tall is she? How old is she? How about her brother? Yes, I have players that will want to know these details. They love detail because it adds an extra layer to their game.

Lastly, how long is the adventure path suppose to take on avergae in game time to execute? 4 months? A year?

Please and thank you all in advance.

Hello All,

My current homebrew campaign is wrapping up, and my players want to begin one of the adventure paths. Which of the three has your recommendation for being the most fun and why? Which was the hardest to GM and why? Did you find any glaring pitfalls that were hard to resolve because of roleplaying plausibility or the CR was off significantly? Were the magic items offered by the AP sufficient to complete it or did you have to pad your AP?

Also, what did you do with your PCs after they finished the AP? Did you shelf them? Did your players have any problems designing PCs whose game-life would be limited to the AP? My campaigns tend to last years of real time.

Thanks for all the input in advance.
Cheers!

Wayne Reynolds did a very cool painting of an unnamed iconic for the cover of Dungeon 143. Is there any info that can be shared about her? I realize that she appears inside that issue on page 52, but I was wondering if she appears anywhere else? Are her appearances limited to the Savage Tide? I'm looking for all artwork surrounding this character. I'm gonna snatch her look for my own game. Can anybody list her other appearances. Thanks in adavence.

I ordered one. I'm waiting (just barely). The notes say April arrival. When are they due to be shipped? Thanks.

Okay, I know that this may seem tacky to ask at this time, but I have to know: Will the supplements be completed thru #150? Could they please be completed? Will they be allowed to stay online after WoTc reclaims the two magazines?

I love Christopher West's current Maps of Mystery. They are just begging to be connected into one big map. The pdfs are the best source since they aren't cropped by the printer. Will West's map be finished by Issue #150? Please!

Thanks for all the labors of love. You guys rock!

I was considering starting the Savage Tide AP fairly soon, but I would like to know how useful Stormrack has been for those already involved in the STAP. Should I buy it? I looked at it in the store but was indecisive. I have Frostburn (which seems pretty-good), but not Stormrack or Sandstorm. I have heard that the other two were iffy. So what's your take on Stormrack (or even Sandstorm)?

Thank you in advance.
Cheers

Hello all.

I know that a lot of you are gonna groan about this. I am looking for an adventure idea that could have something to do with a "romance day" theme (in Greyhawk, it would equate to Myrhiss Day). One of my players asked me if we would be having a Valentine's Day gaming session next week. What else could I say to that challenge, but, "I'll try".

Now I have run Halloween, April Fools's, and even X-mas games, but I am stumped for an idea on this holiday. I want to try to find some outlet that takes into account aspects of the "romantic notions" of the god(dess) of love (plumb the concepts and doctrines of the church of love, so to say). How can I involve the players directly so that they are not outside agents just responding to a new threat that they have no investment in? Any serious thots would be greatly appreciated.

Please, and Thank You!

I was looking at my gaming library when I realized how much of my Green Ronin Freeport material just might be worked into the Savage Tide. I really haven't used much of the Freeport setting before, but I was wondering if any of this untapped material could enhance my pirating urges in the current adventure path. I welcome your insights (both pro and con) on this subject. Please feel free to present your experiences with both of these settings.

Please, and thank you,

I just got my copy and thought I'd give a brief review. This review is based on a familiarity with the original Ravenloft and the revised version "House of Strahd". This is also a first impression without extensive reading. There are NO SPOILERS within this glimpse, but the websites below might.

It is slick, and it is polished. The cover illo is very nice, but makes Strahd look weathered and older than in the previous editions. The inside illo of Strahd looks like a young elf; he's got huge ears. See here for a look at Strahd...

I'm a graphics sort of guy, so I went straight for the main map. I really enjoyed the original map as well as the newer one found in Dragon Magazine a few years back. Guess what, no such map exists. The castle has numerous maps placed thru-out the book. The maps are done by two cartographers, not just one. If you want to show your player a map, you'll constantly be flipping thru the book and walking up close to give them a glimpse. Aside from the revised, and slightly altered, map of Barovia no map fills up the entire page. At first I thot my book was missing the big fold out map, but it didn't come with one. A minor map quibble is that some of the stairs have changed direction going from clock-wise to counter clock-wise. One room has been shifted and the neighboring staircase relocated. Some of the stairwell drawings are nowhere as well drawn as the original. Cartographers that redraw by hand should learn some drafting or at least tracing.

Here's a link to some maps. The city of Barovia map is skewed at this site. The compass points north but is really oriented to the east.

The book has numerouis added encounters outside and inside the castle... More than you'll need. However, this does allow for replaying many times before they are all exhausted. Some of the encounters within the castle are really just expansions of the area developing them with enhanced detail and combat options.

There's more to write about, but WoTC covers the further uses and prestige classes at their website.

Ravenloft looks great, and I can't wait to run it... Again! Only real downer NO BIG MAP of the CASTLE! If you have the original or the Dragon Article you're ok.

Cheers and Boo!

The new Greyhawk maps are great, but I have noticed that they do not jive with the Sterich Map in Dungeon 117. Bova on the big map is much farther south and west. Steryn is not due north of Istivin but NE of it. Even Oytmeet in Geoff is now NW of Gorna, not NE. I am not complaining, just looking for clarity.

I have taken a copy of the Darlene map and overlaid both the other maps (at the same scale) to create a composite map. I have placed things thru spatial relationships and the overlay. I am playing Against the Giants and City of Shadows and needed an accurate map of all sites.

In general I am assuming that the NEW Greyhawk map over-rules the Sterich map. What's your take on this?

BTW - What is Oestral Abyss? Where can I find a reference to it? What does Oestral mean?

Cheers,
Skech

I have searched the web and all the books I can find regarding the haunted, lycanthrope filled forest known as the Iron Wood. It is located on the western boarder of Verbobonc in the Greyhawk campaign setting. I'm about to run a short campaign there, and I am a stickler on details. Can anyone point me toward a few resources that I may use to add depth to the region? I'd even like to hear your take on the area.

Some names that I have found related to the area are Shannus (wood elf), Syian Theus (elfin owner of the Fallen Timber Tavern), Uther Muldoon (possibly the 1st owner of the tavern), and the enigmatic Moonlord. Any added hints on these guys would be swell.

Please and thank you all in advance.
