Seska nods in agreement with ending the plunderous reign of terror.

As they offer the choice of which lieutenant to take on, Seska frowns. "'Hound master' sounds like we'd likely also be fighting his hounds. We'd all need to be able to handle a close fight and some of us are better at a distance. The mage we'd need both close and far strikers... maybe better for our group? I can support Daniel and close in on him while Astella hits it from far away and Severa counters his magic. Does that make sense?"

I am still sorting through some ... stuff. One disaster happened and then several more smaller but still concerning ones. I will be okay but I just do not have the wherewithal to post yet. Keep moving without me and I'll post IC as soon as I can. Seska will go along with the gobbo joining the party if the others agree with it.

Having lost a job due to a prematurely cancelled contract (and the cancellation of a follow on contract) and being still unemployed, I feel your pain. Take care of yourself.

Seska cries out an extraordinarily colorful curse involving certain gods and their unspeakable anatomy, as the spikes of the morning star bite past her pauldron and tear into her shoulder, opposite her shield arm.

She nonetheless stays focused on the fight, saving her spells for a more opportune time, and simply steps downward (so she can either eventually get into a flanking position with Daniel, or so he can flank Green with her). Adrenaline sparing her the pain of her injury for the moment, she swings her mace in retort.

Attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (18) + 5 = 23
Damage: 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6

With the cyan-clad baddie close to her, Seska figures the most helpful thing she can do is step forward with aspergillum and shield and give him a good thump.

As Astella mentions those who would be extremely distrustful, Seska flushes. She might not be who Astella meant, but she certainly, having healed many of a goblin-inflicted wound of late, has developed a prejudice. She looks at her feet. It's so easy to forget most folk do what they do because they are protecting their own. She holds the rest of the introspection for later. There were still those who were happy to fight her people and she, indeed, also felt a need to protect her own.

"Freeing the brawler sounds like a good idea. All the help we can get... since it sounds like this leader's a nasty piece of work."

I think I used the wrong term for the people they had been fighting earlier. It's been a looong time since I've played the games and haven't re-absorbed all the lore from the Wiki. Anyway, her internal thought was just basically about "collectively the people we've been fighting." She associates the goblins with those who killed her parents, whether that's a fair comparison or not. Seeing the nuance as she travels will probably be good for her.

Looking at the group ahead, are there any that were on the walls earlier that fled?

Seska nods in agreement as well. So that's why they were so testy. Seksa had no love for the hordes and little regret for fighting them. But no one deserved to be forced into fighting like that. She promises herself to take her frustrations out on the lieutenants.

Realizing Daniel is wounded and is just playing the tough guy, Seska scowls and approaches him, gesturing to any of the other barrier carriers who might look hurt, and prays to St. Elaine for a burst of healing energy around the whole group.

As they talk, Seska keeps her mouth shut for the bulk of the conversation. She's not very good at speaking quietly.
She does ask, "Why were the women locked up?"

If no one else needs healing (looks like they don't), Seska will cast cure light wounds on herself.

Seeing only one goblin left, Seska doesn't rush to light the oil. She finishes setting the fuse and marches forward. "Go on! Run!" She shouts.

Doing her best to stay behind her shield, Seska takes a flask of oil from a strap holding onto her sash. Holding it in her shield hand, she begins to uncork it and insert the fuse wrapped around the neck of the bottle.

Move action to take out oil, using standard action to begin the full round action to prepare the fuse.

Electricity arcs from a device on the wall, and unfortunately Seska's metal armor and shield make her an easy target for a nasty shock. She grits her teeth, resolved to make whoever set that off pay.

Seska steps closer to the front lines and casts shield of faith on herself.

"Come on, BRING IT!" she shouts at the enemy.

Was going to cast the spell on Astella who's got a low AC, but realized I was a little too far away. She'll try to draw attention toward herself instead.

I'm still a little unclear on that since we went back and forth a bit on whether there would be a party split to have PCs on the stealth team. We probably don't want to split the party so I think we all decided to be on the distraction team?

Perhaps I misunderstood, but I thought the "group scouting up the hill to spy on the defenses" was just a brief opportunity to get the lay of the land, not the point of splitting between distraction and stealth team. At least, I only intended to opt out of that one Perception check. We are all still on the distraction team AFAIK.

As the group makes their approach, Seska waits till just before they are to make their move and issues a prayer, "May the holy light imbue us with might and courage this day."

Casting bless on the party. Duration is only 3 minutes, so casting at the last moment she reasonably can to get something out of it.

Seska smiles in turn to Severa and mentions she is glad to make her acquaintance.

She works during the preparations to be sure the local healers are supplied in her absence, barking orders and then apologizing for being loud several times over.

She is ready and equipped for the journey, arriving bright and early.

She is too focused on making sure her satchel with her healing supplies is secure to take note of anything else.

"No, I just carry a mace and a shield for fun-" Seska mutters, then pauses and catches herself. She smiles. "Forgive me. That is to say, like nearly all of us here, I got caught up in the conflict years ago. My parents had been part of the militia and taught me to fight as well as field medicine. I was too young, at the time, to enlist, but I first worked as a supply runner and still had to keep the raiders off my tail. While blessed St. Elaine has smiled upon my undeserving self and led me on the path to the healing arts, I have no issue crushing the soulless skulls of the horde if I must." She sustains her sweet tone throughout. "And you? I regret to say I don't know your names or what you do."

Strident alto tones resonate through the street. A much quieter tenor offers muttered reply. "No, Tomas, I don't know when I'll be back. You are more than capable-- for f~+*'s sake would you stop asking and get back to the temple! NOW!!!!! One set of approaching footsteps scampers off, moving away from you, while another set approached with a determined march.

Rounding the corner is a human woman, clad in white and blue robes, with auburn hair pulled back at the sides but streaming down past the creamy vestments. A shield and mace are stowed over her back and a satchel is slung over her shoulder. Flushed and scowling she quickly rearranges the expression as she espies the party and any assembled townsfolk. Smiling sweetly, she does her best to summon dulcet tones. "Good lords of Harmondale, I understand you are in need for the services of a healer for a mission. I am Sister Seska, in service to St. Elaine--and of course, to all of you."

I know I just joined but: I will shortly be drawn into holiday events and obligations and be slower online for the next week, possibly two weeks. I will check in if and when able; I can pop in my introductory post if needed at some point. Of course I expect many of us may be slowed down a bit, so I look forward to seeing you the other side of the season.

While I the player am a fan of stealth missions, Seska is not a woman of subtlety. I think in character, she'd be more likely to volunteer to be part of the diversion.
