So we're all in the water? Wow, I am so screwed. I don't think it's possible for me to make a swim check in my armor so I can't really move, and I don't have any piercing weapons on me. I'm basically just going to sink and drown. I don't think I can contribute a lot to this fight, so I'm going to let myself sink, hold my breath and start summoning Roar. Round 1 of 10.

"I wasn't using it anyway." Leon said with a shrug. Glancing down at Ezra the big knight said "Remind me to come back at a future date and destroy this insufferable creature."

"Shallow mind..." the knight says flatly. Leon looks to Mordecai and Krovax. "How long to you think it would take for the late miss Aluria and our friend Dreadmaul to dig from the surface down to this point?" "If this path is closed, perhaps we should make our own and let a little light in with us..." Sunlight is usually pretty bad for critters like this.

Leon grunted shifting a bit, bleeding into his armor padding and trying to get clear of the glittering apparitions. Narrowing his eyes, he raised his clenched fist. His eyes flared purple beneath his helm. Command Undead. DC 17 will save. The first ones that fail, up to 6 Hit Dice, become my minions.

So far I've been unable to use Roar in the game because of where the encounters are (a common problem with mount companions) Normally Antipaladins are able to swap out their companion when they level up. Because it hasn't happened yet in game, would you allow me to do it now-ish?

Normally you are correct. Mindless things cannot be effected by Fear or Morale effects. The Unnatural Presence ability creates a specific exception to that rule, allowing Vermin to be effected by Intimidate. Animals, and any other creature with an intelligence score, is susceptible to intimidate. Everyone with Intimidate can use it on Rats, for example. Normally, you can't use it on bugs, but Unnatural Presence creates an exception.

Rules question- I've use Unnatural Presence in three games now, and I've never once seen it actually work. It's supposed to let me frighten Vermin, but no GM I've played with has seemed to allow it. Am I doing something wrong in how I use it? Should I trade it out for something else that is more useful?

I think if it were me, I'd just get wands and scrolls or Staffs of the Pattern spells and other Arcane stuff I liked, take the Dangerously Curious trait and max out UMD, and go straight Oracle. It might seem expensive, but with Crafting feats and the ways of reducing your crafting costs, you could actually use a scroll to make a staff or wand and get around a lot of the overhead.

good stuff. :) That being said, why the hell do goth-y girls get sprawling chest tattoos? Ugh. From further than 15 feet away it just looks like awful scarring or chest hair. Not attractive.

Leon continues to do a rather undignified and rather loud clanging dance of discomfort, eventually unbuckling the many straps of his armor and taking it off to shake out his clothes while Mordecai contemplated Aluria's corpse.

I'm guessing I must have accidentally clicked the little x nect to the notification number at some point. I hate that thing. I check the boards from my phone a lot. Its really easy to accidentally hit that on a touch screen.

Sorry for the absence. Wasn't receiving updates. Reflex: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (4) + 7 = 11 "Dammit!" Leon curses, swatting at this armor, obviously having trouble dislodging the biting insects that had gotten inside. Down to 44/72. Still have bugs inside my pants.

How did I catch everyone? My post specifically says I moved to get clear of them. Was there nowhere to move? Could I at least move so I only hit a few of them? How did that happen?

Fort: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (8) + 11 = 19 Leon strides forward until he is clear of his companions and slams his hammer on the ground, releasing a burst of entropic energy. Channel Negative Energy, 20' burst. Usually swarms take double damage from AoE. Negative Energy: 3d6 ⇒ (3, 3, 4) = 10 Will dc17 halves

Not sure if it's a surprise round or not. Leon brings his hammer down on the giant vermin in front of him. Power Attack: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (19) + 9 = 28
If I can Full Attack Power Attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (15) + 4 = 19

"Keep close." Leon says, lifting his hammer off his shoulder. The eyes on his helm flare to life and palpable waves of menace and instinctual negativity come pouring off of him. I'm guessing it's some kind of vermin, which I can Intimidate (Unnatural Presence). I'm going to activate my Iron Eye and see if I can Intimidate them into leaving us alone. Intimidate: 1d20 + 19 ⇒ (14) + 19 = 33

Leon seems in a good mood amid this place. Something about it obviously appeals to him. He buckles on the rest of his armor and pulls on his terrible helm. As Ezra lands gently he chuckles, the echo of the helm making it sound less than comforting. "Quite the entrance, my dear."

Leon nods and helps Mordecai secure the rope, knotting it every 5 feet or so. Climbing a Knotted rope is a DC 5. We can take 10 unless we're attacked on the way down. Even in my armor I can make that. Setting himself against the edge and beginning to lean back to begin his descent, he looks to Krovax. "Perhaps we should send Dreadwing down first to scout the bottom."

Leon continues his assault in broad, powerful strokes with his newly acquired massive hammer. Primary Power Attack, Enlarge, Flank, Bless, Prayer: 1d20 + 10 + 1 + 2 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (16) + 10 + 1 + 2 + 1 + 1 = 31
Secondary Power Attack, Enlarge, Flank, Bless, Prayer: 1d20 + 5 + 1 + 2 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (16) + 5 + 1 + 2 + 1 + 1 = 26
