Salutations and greetings..and may I be the first to actually offer a character up for approval. Daily posting and weekends should be no problem. Basil is designed to be a front line combatant..perhaps not the heaviest hitter in Golarion but able to hold his own both on the battlefield and at Court. Epic Path:Marshal
Round 2 Basil tries again to drag Gideon from the mire. Strength
Strength Check Basil fails to heave Gideon from the muck and draws his sword as the goblins close in.
Basil lets out an oath of the sort that Paladins in the story books would never be heard uttering. Then an instant later as the bolt hits him he utters another stronger one. He moves out off the line off fire as he tries to haul Gideon out of the cesspool.
"I'd advise seeing what lies beyond the door first.,,that way we might not leave an unpleasant surprise behind us"
Basil does as Gideon asks.. "Just be careful.."
Perception Basil's eyes water from the stench of the place and his sight is blurred for a moment.
Basil edges slowly out onto the plank.
..
The Paladin nods curtly.."Very well..as you can see we have discovered a most interesting smell..and are currently about to make an attempt to move beyond it." "Whenever you are ready Alleria"
Perception Basil is not sure what makes him turn towards the door at that point but he knows someone is there. "You..I know you are there ..come out where we can see you" he commands
Basil has to smile at the woman's comment.."Milady it will be my pleasure but let us hope it does not come to that"
Basil nods sagely.."Aye that would be the best action..if ye pass safely then I will follow."
definitely want to get on old chap..but I think we need a more active 4th player.
"Sorry old boy hadn't planned on having to climb walls..which is off course no excuse for not bringing one with us just in case.."
Basil loks grim after the failure by Gideon... "Maybe we need to find a ladder of our own"..he grumbles "I mislike this place it has every appearance of being a trap"
Climb Basil cannot find enough purchase on the wall to lever himself up with the weight of his armour. "Hmm..I mislike going unprotected in this situation..but I cannot see me getting up their in Armour" the Paladin muses.
Perception Basil tsks as the rung gives way.."Shoddy workmanship that" he whispers "however we might be able to progress above using the walls themselves we can only trust that they will be stronger"
"I mislike this" Basil says.."none of our options is ideal..however I believe we should try and take the high ground.. He moves towards the ladder and stops at it's foot testing the rungs before beginning to climb it one rung at a time ensuring each is safe before putting his weight upon it.
Basil recoils from the smell.."By my honour...that smell is.... incredible" he chokes
"No point in making trouble where you don't need it." Basil approaches the entrance.
Basil gives each man a piercing look as if looking into their very souls.. Detect Evil on both.
Basil shows no sign of being intimidated by these characters.."Seriously Pilgrim..we are not here for you..unless you want us to be?"
Basil slows down slightly his eyes moving from one man to another judging their threat potential. "We don't want trouble friends..but if you want to make it..we'll gladly accomodate you" he states bluntly
"Well then" Basil replies "We'll just have to do this the old fashoned way then. He sets out to walk around the building to see if there are any alternate ways of entry..if not he forces the door.
"I'm sure she has her reasons old boy." Basil contemplates the building.."Looks like it might fall down if we sneeze to hard though.." he turns to the casters "Do either of you have a spell that might aid us..some divination that we can use to get an idea of what is in there?"
Basil rolls his eyes slightly at Alleria's somewhat direct manner.. "All we need you to do is lead us to the abandoned boarding house..or point it out if it is within sight of this spot.."
Basil tosses the decrepit fence his reward.."Pleasure doing business with ye..Adabar's blessing on your dealings" He turns and walks away motioning to the others to follow. until they are out of earshot. "Well we narrowed things down a bit..an abandoned boarding house and not far away..we need a street urchin I think..some likely lad who'd sell his own grandmother for a few coppers"
Basil draws the gem back a little..So, point us in the right direction and we'll be out of your hair old man..whare is she "
Basil pulls out another gemstone.."How about a matching stone to the one we already gave you.." He is prepared to offer the silver dagger if he has to
"Now we do understand that there may be some difficulties with the girls..but I assure you we are not here as officers of the Law.We are the representatives of certain individuals who are concerned with the whereabouts of one particular girl.Natalyah Vancaskerkin..perhaps you know where she is..it weould certainly speed things up to cut out the middle women as it were"

"I think it best if we base ourselves out off the Lodge for now..there are always quarters available for those who need them and we will not have to worry about assembling every day."
"Hmm..I think we can close that line of enquiry it would appear that the 'Slavers Ring' was nothing but a set up to trap us. It certainly didnt help us find our quarry so we must now return to the odiferous Fenster and seek his aid" He pulls the Silver dagger that was found in the puzzle box from his belt.."I believe this should be sufficient payment for his services if required.But first off, some sleep would be good."
"I take it our...friend from earlier has been..ahh..dealt with then" Basil asks, thankful that the darkness hides a blush of embarassment.
Basil holds himself ready to move once things start.
"Kill the lights we don't want to be sillhouetted in the doorway when we leave" Basil hisses to the others. Stealth with +5 for total Darkness
"Very well then we stay but outside.." Basil decides and opens the door while staying to one side..just in case their adversary is outside the door at this moment.
"Maybe we should just leave..can you imagine the look on his face when he returns to finnd us gone..We can inform the Watch and let them deal with it..question the chap once they have him and his associates in custody?"
Basil grins at Yeralithi's comment "Oh I'm sure it was a quite delightful sight..apart from the hair that is" he says as he recovers his sword and moves to stand to one side of the door
Basil blinks in surprise as Yeralithi suddenly moves a few feet sideways and her bonds fall to the floor.."Now that is what I call a useful skill..quickly cut our bonds and we can set an ambush for our friend when he returns..unsporting I know but..ahh..he started it"
Basil struggles with his ropes in an effort to get free but to no avail.
"Hiding, from who..these Nidalese slavers who are rumoured to be in command here?" As he speaks Basil concentrates his gaze on the Man..searching for any evil in his soul.
"I would advise caution...it may be a cunning trap. Cover me Alleria" Basil eases into the room and makes his way around the edges to approach the figure "You there..who are you and what is your business here" he asks softly but with an air off command
Basil peers into the room and nods to Gideon to cast his magics
