Sorry and another question on the matter, do NPC's even have resolve? Why would an NPC have rules regarding a stat only PC's gave? Its so confusing.

Nevermind XD User error here. Just noticed RP= Resolve Points. They in fact do have Resolve.

I guess what I'm asking is, how can I make theses a PC comparable to an NPC in none combat setting?

If for example there was a Sarcesian void race where the PC had to compete with an NPC in a race around an asteroid course, etc. The PC already lost, unless there is freedom for discretion to alter the rule.

Yes but it seems way to nerfed. I mean how can I justify in an RP sense, or even general gameplay that literally any other Sarcesian is twice as fast as me in the void. That is NOT a small difference. If there was any scene in regards to a chance, or fleeing. My character would be over taken or left in the dust in no time. They could literally fly circles around me.

I understand powerful abilities should be toned down when give to players, but this hands down cripples the player character if they ever have to compare to their own kind in space.

Hello I am making a Sarcesian operative for a Starfinder campaign, but I am confused what is valid or invalid in terms of the Void Flyer trait. To compare them....

NPC:
Void Flyer (Su) A sarcesian can go 1 hour without breathing and can exist in a vacuum without suffering the associated environmental effects. By spending 1 Resolve Point, a sarcesian can extend this duration to a number of hours equal to her CR, or she can double that by spending 2 Resolve Points. When in a vacuum, sarcesians automatically grow wings made from pure energy that grant them a supernatural fly speed of 120 feet (average maneuverability) but that work only in a vacuum.

And PC:
Void Flyer: Sarcesians can go 1 hour without breathing and can exist in a vacuum without suffering the associated environmental effects. When in a vacuum, they automatically grow wings made from pure energy that grant them a supernatural fly speed of 60 feet (average maneuverability) but that work only in a vacuum.

Am I to understand that a player is half as fast as a NPC of the same race, AND is forever limited to the 1 hour time limit as they can not use resolve to increase it? I do not understand the vast differences in this trait. How is it logical for a PC to be half as fast as their NPC brethren, just because? And also lose the ability to sustain their life in space?

I'd also like to note the lore says they can survive indefinitely in space in the core book's lore XD But thats nitpicking. Please explain which is the correct version of the skill a player can use?
