male Human Fighter 1 (Archetype: Shielded Fighter)

"If we leave the horses at the campsite, we'll need to hire a wrangler to watch them while we're away. I'm not so well-off as to become an employer right now..."

Sig stopped, considered everything he knew about the vale... Upon further consideration, he concluded that walking would be better.

"Bertrand, perhaps it would be better to save your money. The vale is no place for horses. I suppose, if all were willing, we might purchase a single pack mule. I think that would be manageable."

male Human Fighter 1 (Archetype: Shielded Fighter)

If Tamnir doesn't want to go, then Sig will go to General Jack's with Bertrand.

male Human Fighter 1 (Archetype: Shielded Fighter)

Sig addresses Tamnir "a horse will be most valuable in the wilds. Would you like to go with me to purchase one?"

Sig had never even heard of those places, they mus be deep within the woods.

now those are some smoking hot rolls!

"If you gents are heading out into the wilderness, in the hopes of a find of cure for this plague, then I'm in."

Sig is a tall human, wearing a chain shirt and wielding a wooden shield and a large axe.

male Human Fighter 1 (Archetype: Shielded Fighter)

Sig moves as close to the half-elf as he can get and listens to what the man has to say. He's keen to help with this plague issue, it is the right thing to do.

Sorry, somehow I missed this was updated.

East Coast US, so GMT-4 currently.

I thought Eastern Time was -5, are there some parts of Maine (perhaps) that are -4?

Yuuki replies "I wish the same to you as well, Tamnir."

@Sig
You get your beef stew and your Mountain ale.
Cost: 2sp, 4cp.

Sig eats his meal and enjoys his ale, after paying the good woman of course. Once finished, he heads to Roots and Remedies.

Alkaid replies "That is sweet, someone's getting an extra spoon full of stew, and for the ale do you want Darkmoon Ale, Mountain Ale, or Dragon's Ale."

"Darkmoon... no, no, the mountain ale is Dwarven, yeah? I'll have that."

When you arrive at the Goose 'n' Gander, you are greeted by a beautiful buxom red head with waist length braided her, named Alkaid. She arrived one week ago in Falcons Hollow with a few others, to stock up on things to adventure, but spent a little to much on drinks and is working to pay off the tab and make some money.

She asks "What can I get for you, Sig, the Beef Stew Special, or the Soup?"

"Alkaid, that's a pretty name. Special sounds nice and a good ale as well."

Sig looked around the tavern, people-watching. This plague was real, how could you tell if someone was sick?

assuming that I am in Falcon's Hollow...

Sig made his way to the Goose. He needed a drink and a little time to regain his bearings.

male Human Fighter 1 (Archetype: Shielded Fighter)

are there any other options for crossing the river?

edit: I am confused; I had assumed that Sig was starting on south bank of the Foam. Is that not the case? If I'm on the north bank, then there is no need to cross the river.

male Human Fighter 1 (Archetype: Shielded Fighter)

Sig sighed, this plague must be serious indeed. He didn't like the idea of "borrowing" another mans possession, but he climbed on the ferry and looked it over.

"Let's just see how this thing works..."

male Human Fighter 1 (Archetype: Shielded Fighter)

Is this the only way to cross the river? Is Bill's house close to hand?

male Human Fighter 1 (Archetype: Shielded Fighter)

Sven eyed the wooden ferry closely, looking for any signs of damage. The man had said is daily prayer to good Lady Luck, but what did it hurt to be a little cautious?

is the ferry hand-operated?

I'm -7, Mountain Time.

I'll check back tomorrow.

Did I make it?

Just a thought: I wonder if meta-game issues wouldn't arise from playing the same module, in two games, at the same time? Perhaps it would be best for each DM to select 4 different players (and in doing so, allow more people to play?)

If DM Mathpro were to allow stats below 10, I could experiment with two different Sigs. Sig v1 is configured per DM Azure_Zero's parameters and Sig v2 isn't. I'd very much like to see how the two versions compare to one another (both in and out of combat.)

Sig v1
Fighter 1
STR: 16
DEX: 16
CON: 14
INT: 10
WIS: 10
CHA: 10

Sig v2.5
Paladin 1
STR: 14
DEX: 14
CON: 14
INT: 8
WIS: 12
CHA: 16

Just checked Sig's stats, you must have missed this:

*I forgot to mention that my point buy rules, do not allow for stats below 10, you also start with max HP, and when you level up you always get more than half on a hit dice before con mod is added for HP.
To be fair, it isn't in the first post.

I did miss that. It's an easy correction.

Sig is mostly done, please check him out. I need to get skills and feats up, but that's pretty much it.

I'm interested, very much so. These things do fill up quickly.

Unless this is a solo campaign and/or the other players have a hand in the shop, I'd probably just meta-game my way out of it. At some point it becomes a simple matter of "don't split the party"...

I agree that the other players need to be onboard with this plan, if you're going to devote real-game time to it. If this enterprise is limited strictly to the PC, then you should probably deal with outside of the regular game (perhaps via email.)

One thing you might consider is incorporating Golarian's calendar into your game. With the changing of the seasons comes weather and natural "down-time." It might be fun to set up different things for each player to do during the off-season, so to speak. You wouldn't need to devote much time to it, say 2-3 hours of game time every 2-3 sessions. If nothing else, it might give the other players time to hunt down hard to find items or have existing items upgraded.

One word; dumb.

The dragon scales are not the same as dragon hide. But then you knew that...

Sig looks up from his near-empty mug of ale, listens to the noises outside. He nods to the barman, says "another one, if you please ser."

there is a lot of player chatter going on and I've missed quite a bit of it.

Skype is a good way to communicate during gaming sessions, providing both the sender and receiver have a fat broadband connection.

Dice is a small issue. Just trust the guy not to cheat, yeah?

Online kingdom building is as simple as getting a Dropbox account and then putting all of your kingdom files (city maps, mayor sheet etc) up there (in the clouds.) If all of your players have a Dropbox account, you can share that "dropbpx" with 'em. They can see the files and save them and make changes, whatever you need to do.

In this computer age, playing from afar is quite possible.

Even a low charisma character can make a great Braggart.

A low CHA character, when talking about his past exploits, is a braggart. It's not a case of maybe being taken that way; he is taken exactly that way because he has a low (or even negative) CHA score.

A high CHA character, when talking about his past exploits, is doing just that. He's regaling everyone with tales of his splendor and they're happily soaking up the rays of his personal sunshine. That high CHA ensures that he knows that they love him (even if kinda smells a little like horse poopie.)

See the difference?

Name
Sig Svensen (?)

Crunch:
Human Fighter (no Archetype) Alignment: LG
STR: 16*(5); DEX: 16(10); CON: 14(5); INT: 8(-2); WIS: 10; CHA: 12(2)
Skills: will include ranks in Sense Motive and Diplomacy
Traits: Harrowed, Missing Child
Feats: Iron Will, TWF, Double Slice

Fluff
I picture Sig as being a bit of a Paladin, but not really. He's got a code and he's got a conviction. If Sig says he'll do something, he'll move heaven and Golarian to do it. He's not comfortable with deception, but he won't necessarily veto it if there is a Good reason. Like everyone, Sig wants to find a place his place in the world.

    1. How did Gaedren Lamm ruin your life? Gaedren lured one of my wards into an ally, while we were in the market. I didn’t see who stole the child, but much investigation has lead me to this conclusion.
    2. What do you think of the tension at the royal court between King Eodred II and the Royal Queen Ileosa? That’s not my business, did the man stray from bed? Bah, I truly care not.
    3. Do you think you could change Korvosa for the better? How? Ridding the city of Lamm would be a wonderful change, and all who prey on children and the weak. I’ll go it alone, or I’ll work with like minded people.
    4. What will your character contribute to the group? Sig is a tough warrior, smarter than you might think. He’s not a dawdler, so he’ll want to move plans forward.
    5. What are your plans for your character mechanically? Right now, we’re going for a straight Fighter, little bit of TWF with some 2-hander and perhaps slinging a shield for emergency use.
    6. What are your plans for your character from a story-perspective? Find Lamm! Retore the child to his family! Develop loyal friends who are worth enough to die for. Oh yeah, and meta-game wise, I bet there is something to find out about a throne too…
    7. Consider your character's heritage: could he (or she) possibly be of noble or royal blood, or is he (or she) a lowborn commoner? I’m thinking more like low-born nobleman. He himself was a Ward of a noble family, and so he was very disgraced when Lamm stole the child.[/b]
