I never did, no. :(

New OOC Thread, folks.

Okay. Well, new recruitment thread started. Link for you. Unfortunately, we'll need to rewind characters a bit.

Let's reboot. I'll toss a recruitment thread up shortly.

Might be that time. Kill it or just reboot with a fresh group. We're early enough in the game that that won't throw things off too much.

...

Kayla, still here?

As Kayla contemplates the cavern ahead, Barundar and Reinnwulf close the gap behind her.

Barundar can see the same things that Kayla's last spoiler includes; and so may Reinnwulf if he has a light source.

Kayla:
You don't see anything, but you hear a rustling noise coming from somewhere in the room. The carvings are now more apparent as stone figures of humanoids, each wearing armor and carrying a different weapon.

GM Dice:
1d20 + 10 ⇒ (20) + 10 = 30
1d20 + 7 ⇒ (13) + 7 = 20
1d20 + 5 ⇒ (13) + 5 = 18
1d20 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4
1d20 + 10 ⇒ (19) + 10 = 29
1d20 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 9

After a torturous time slowly shifting one person down into the chasm then up the other side, the entire crew finally makes it to the other side of the chasm.

Heading down the only tunnel available, the better part of an hour's travel brings you to a slight rise in the grade of the tunnel, so the group is walking uphill.

GM Dice:
3d6 ⇒ (5, 4, 4) = 13
1d20 + 1 ⇒ (11) + 1 = 12
1d20 + 3 ⇒ (12) + 3 = 15
1d20 + 8 ⇒ (19) + 8 = 27
1d20 + 4 ⇒ (20) + 4 = 24
1d20 + 5 ⇒ (10) + 5 = 15
1d20 + 0 ⇒ (2) + 0 = 2
1d20 + 10 ⇒ (5) + 10 = 15
1d20 + 7 ⇒ (20) + 7 = 27
1d20 + 5 ⇒ (3) + 5 = 8
1d20 + 3 ⇒ (19) + 3 = 22
1d20 + 10 ⇒ (10) + 10 = 20
1d20 + 4 ⇒ (19) + 4 = 23

Kayla:
As you move slightly ahead of the main group, you notice that the tunnel opens up into a cavern up ahead, with what appears to be carving upon the walls.

Could I get a refresher on standard marching order?

With Reinnwulf and Weyland anchoring and hauling the ropes one one side, and Barundar and Enshi doing the same on the other, Anevia offers to be the first to be lowered into the chasm.

The NPCs all agree to the plan, and Enshi lowers his rope into the chasm, then sets himself to anchor the rope or to assist if somebody else prefers to take point.

Just clarifying. Reinnwulf is currently on the other side with his entire length of rope, Enshi is currently on the near side with his length of rope, and there is not currently a length of rope crossing the chasm, correct?

GM Dice:
1d20 - 2 ⇒ (19) - 2 = 17

Horgus walks to the edge and looks down. "So undignified. But if it's a choice between potentially falling and breaking my neck or being hoisted like a sack of potatoes, I suppose I'd rather be hoisted safely." Anevia grins weakly. "My thanks. Normally I'd probably just try to walk across whatever rope you string up here, but right now, I'll settle for being a sack of potatoes." Aravashnial agrees, citing his blindness as reason enough to err on the side of caution.

The mongrelfolk speak among themselves in their own tongue, then turn to Reinnwulf. "I shall climb across, but my companions will be lowered and lifted," says Lann.

The crevasse is 10 ft. across, 70 ft. wide, and 30 ft. deep. The continuation of the tunnel is some distance to the right of the far side of the chasm.

The gash ahead prohibits further progress. The mongrelfolk ask if you have enough rope that they could climb down into the crevasse and then up the other side.

The three mongelfolk start heading toward one of the tunnels, but the tunnel has collapsed about ten feet beyond the chamber you are in. After muttering some curses in their native tongue, they circle the chamber before finding another tunnel that they indicate will also lead back to their city.

The group follows the tunnel down the passage with Lann leading the way and Dyra supporting Crel when necessary. After several twists and turns, the group comes to a lengthy portion where the floor of the tunnel is rent by a wide gash, preventing you from easily continuing on your way. The mongrelfolk begin to curse again, and there is an element of fear in their voices. Lann turns to the group. "We do not know what goess on in the world above, but these tremors have caused much damage here below. It may be that Neathholm has also suffered. We musst hurry."

After checking on their companion, the split-faced one, who appears to be the leader, turns to you. "Thank you, uplanders. I am Lann. These are Dyra, and Crel." He gestures to the silent one, then the trapped one. "Please, allow us to repay your kindness with the hospitality of our home. We can return to the city, and I'm sure Chief Sull will reward you." He genuflects before you, then returns to his feet. The other two repeat the gesture, Crel a little stiffly.

With Barundar's help, the stone is finally lifted just high enough for the trapped creature to scramble free just before the stone slips down again. The two others move to check on their companion, who appears to be in respectable shape, although shaken.

The chitin-faced creature moves over to help with the rock, granting it a few more inches of lift, but still not quite enough to free the trapped one. The split-faced one tries to push Aravashnial away so he can come help, but is unable to disengage from the questioning.

GM Dice:
1d20 + 2 ⇒ (14) + 2 = 16

Any more Aids? Enough space on the rock for two more assistants.

Enshi sees that although the rock is pinning the trapped one's legs in the rubble pile, it has landed in such a way that his only real injuries are cuts and bruises. However, if the rock shifts much, there is a chance that it could crush him from the chest down. The table-sized stone grinds against a couple of the other stones it rests on, but still doesn't lift high enough to release the trapped creature.

Aravashnial continues to question the first of the creatures about their society and lifestyle, while Horgus looks on in disgust. "Leave him. If he's not dead now, he will be soon."

The creature's eyes light up. "If you could, perhapss, help uss lift the rocks from him, we would be grateful." In his excitement, his tongue begins to hiss words like the lizard half his face resembles.

It looks like most of the rubble has already been pulled away from the trapped creature. Most of what is pinning him now is one rock, as big as a table. Up to six people can fit around it to get leverage to lift.

The two figures look at each other, then the cat-bodied one with no discernible face shrugs. The one with two half-faces steps forward, slowly lowering his weapon. "You are from ... the surface? Why are you here? If your intentions are ill, we ask you to move on and leave us in peace. If they are good, then perhaps you can help. As you can see, misfortune has befallen us." He gestures toward the collapsed stone and his trapped companion.

Barundar:
The strange humanoids don't appear to be actively threatening, but they do appear to be ready to attack if any of the party makes a hostile move toward themselves and their trapped friend.

Kayla moves back toward where she had spied out the creatures. The two free ones haven't turned to spot her, and are continuing to try and clear the rubble away from their trapped companion. The rest of the group slowly follows Kayla until they enter the cavern. Roughly 70 feet across, the space has a number of stone pillars that connect the domed roof 50 ft. above with the floor. It seems that one of these has collapsed, likely due to the massive rending of the earth that occurred with the demons attacked Kenabres. Two humanoid figures are currently working at freeing a third figure from the rubble. As light intrudes into the chamber, the two turn and take up defensive postures, protecting the third.

And here we go!
