About Shay Vinder

Backstory:
Yes, she's THAT Shayliss.

After a young man impressed her by ridding her town of goblins, she lured him to the basement of her father's shop to show her full appreciation. Her father, being something of the overprotective sort, shortly sent his unconscious body sprawling to the street, followed by his pants. He didn't want to deal with the most dangerous man in Sandpoint again any time soon despite her various attempts to find a safer rendezvous point, and eventually he and his friends got distracted with all that Runelord Rising business.
Frustrated and all the more determined to win him over, she went to local tavern owner Ameiko Kaijitsu looking for romantic advice, and picking up some general bardic tricks while she was at it. As she practiced, her sister was murdered in particularly grizzly fashion, leaving her father all the more concerned for her safety as his only remaining child. Her would-be lover left town shortly thereafter, along with the other "heroes of Sandpoint," not risking the last minute rendezvous she'd planned. When next they returned to town, she was dealth the nasty shock that he had moved on, and gotten himself into a relationship with Tillia, a teacher from over in Turtleback who was, in his estimation a "safer" woman to pursue a relationship with. Disillusioned, and rather shaken by the gruesome loss of her sister, she gave up on her crush.

Not long after, a fresh disaster struck her home town, once again giving the "heroes" a chance to earn the adoration of the people by setting things right. Frustrated and jealous, she decided she'd had quite enough of the small town life. Raiding her father's store for enough supplies to last a long trip and all the coin she could find in his belt pouch, she bartered her way into a passing caravan, and snuck away from her childhood home in secret, hoping to start a new life in the "glamorous" city of Riddleport. Friendly banter with the other travelers brought the Golden Goblin to her attention, and filled her head with dreams of becoming a glamorous showgirl at what was no doubt the most prestigeous of gaming halls. The others knew better, but it can be hard to squash a young girl's enthusiasm.
