Shagraat is the son of a war icon. Shagraanod the scornful of clan Garuun was a captain among hobgoblins, specifically a mercenary captain. On the day he died five years ago on some nameless field of battle in Cyre, he still served the lord of another country. He never rallied to Haruuc, and had he lived he would have had no influence or place in the Darguun that has since emerged.
So its ironic that his son should be shaarul in the Order of the Silent Knives. As an infant, Shagraat was taken from his prostitute mother and given to the goblin monks. He's grown up as an apprentice along with the other goblin young of the clan. Through his studies he showed a great deal of potential to the teaching masters and today he stands as an initiate. A 'dull blade' as they say in the sparring yard. Not yet worthy of a more specific title, but perhaps perched upon events that will allow him to prove his metal.
Shagraat is a proud creature and does not trouble too much to hide that fact. He believes quite strongly in the destiny of the Dhakaani and their kin to rise again and take their rightful place among the continent's rulers.
He is also conscious of how that sounds in the ears of most of the populace of Breland, and advertises neither his agnosticism nor his feelings about his heritage to any but his closest acquaintances. He strives to maintain an outward calm - the emotional balance that his masters told him would be his best advantage as a seeker in the lands outside Darguun.
