I found I had to read and re-read the entire chapter to make heads or tails it, and it required some heavy lifting on my part to work it into a usable state.

As for the goblins... Yeah, I just put it down to Torgo being racist with a bias against goblins and an itchy trigger finger (someone forgot to tell him it's not SF1e anymore, and that even then they were often just misunderstood); he's not exactly described in the most flattering light to begin with. In short, he shot before even thinking to talk to them. It is worth noting that by this point Little Akiton should be under lockdown, and you could hypothetically take that to mean people are already starting to get crazy about buying the essentials, much like how people have a tendency to go nuts and start clearing out toilet paper at the slightest whiff of any kind of supply chain disruption.

The biggest problem with chapter two is the freeform nature of the event chains, as one needs to ensure that certain events happen before the initial lockdown is lifted.

People tend to ignore the fact that heavy armor just isn't a viable option at lvl 1. The cost is well beyond any reasonable starting gear value, and last I checked, has been this way since PF2e originally dropped (and since SF2e is based directly on the PF2e core ruleset, this is just how things are for now). I've had some close calls HP wise wearing medium armor during A Cosmic Birthday, but nothing I wouldn't call unmanageable. Yes, I was dumping actions to use medpatches when the mystic was unable to immediately dump its HP sippy-cup all over me, but that's because I prioritized survival (and therefore the ability to continue to provide damage instead of just falling over dead). Classes aren't designed to operate in a vacuum, they're intended to synergize with each other. For this reason, party that lacks a Mystic is literally doing themselves a disservice. This results in reliance on medpatches, resulting in action economy hits for all involved.

With a little digging, it seems that the Neural Lash and Doshko are balanced around the ancestries that are most likely to be using them.

With regards to the Neural Lash, the Unwieldy trait is ignored by anyone with telepathy, as stated on page 176 of the Starfinder 2e Playtest PDF under the Thought trait entry.

"Thought: Weapons with this trait are living creatures that can be communicated with using telepathy. When you wield this weapon and are capable of communicating with it, you can ignore any of the other traits the weapon normally has; this only applies to the other traits listed in the weapon entry, not traits the weapon or actions receive from the use of other abilities or effects. If you can communicate with this weapon, your proficiency with this weapon is equal to your proficiency with simple weapons."

As far as the Doshko is concerned, if I remember clearly, the Vesk trait tends to lock the weapon behind Vesk Weapon Familiarity according to Pathfinder 2 weapons availability/proficiency rules, and Vesk ancestry feats like Tear Wound build upon their damage output per attack. I'm guessing the Unwieldy trait is being used as a limiter in this case.

True, and it's not like the air will be swarming with sources of cover.

I guess my question is more whether or they fall immediately, or become untethered... which would make some sense for a dex-flawed flying jellyfish (also, ouch, but hey... most movement versatility you can get, plus the ability to copy other ancestry feats).

I understand it's a minor thing, but it's the one question that keeps popping up.

Either way, I'd just like clarification.

So far, my biggest question regarding the Barathu is whether or not they effectively have a near-permanent action-deficit due to the way flight functions. RAW Barathu fall like rocks if they don't expend an action to stay aloft. This makes feats such as Adaptive Locomotion mandatory, as it allows them greater action economy flexibility. The question is simple, "do Barathu levitate/float naturally or is it the price they pay for the most flexible options in mobility?"

Another question is with regards to variable gravity rules. Read as Written, a Barathu from Bretheda would treat High Gravity as their Normal. Would they treat Normal Gravity as Low Gravity, and Low Gravity as effectively Zero/Microgravity?
