![]() Loadout, Longfang loaded with mag of regular ammo, (regular ammo x4 extra mags=25 total/Heartseeker ammo x5=5), Death Adder, Splinter Pistol (18 rounds loaded) "My my Sierra,... You're surely know how to speak to a women's heart." Serai says sarcastically. The first time she'd spoken this, as they'd began landing she'd check her gun over lightly tapping the clip of ammo loaded at the time. Aim @northern Loricatus to the left, Longfang(regular ammo), single-shot ![]()
![]() picking up Massive Wounds In the downtime, Serai began undergoing small changes herself. Finding herself lost in thought imagining the landscape of the city and the possible death at every corner, she'd began undergoing simulations custom to her wants. With each snipe she'd made became more accurate and deadly. She began not only wanting to do her job, she craved it. Her armor, though snug and casted black, gave her a sense of pride. Not being a Loki anymore took time to adjust to, though now she'd gained more free reign in her own stead. Every now and then she'd catch Kwartz undergoing training simulations of his own in the firing courses. Seeing him working, an exact opposite prior to, made her want to work harder as well. Not seeing much of the others, considering, (Bob and Audric), she'd taken to mostly training by herself or with Nathan. Serai began increasing her workout regimen to double. Whether it be jogging farther or climbing structures she'd use all that was available to increase both her comfort and skill in doing so. She'd went as far as to scale a building, make a snipe shot and time herself while both doing so and escaping or reassigning herself a new snipe nest. The judgement on where to shoot to deal the most critical damage increased as she trained. Time after time she'd restart a simulation only over what she seen as a mistake. "There are no mistakes on the battlefield... There is death and there is victory..." She'd tell herself as sweat beaded off her face. In her down time when alone she took up a hobby of customizing her armor and guns. On the barrel of her trusted longfang she'd carved ..."I saw that" ~Karma..." While on her armor she'd taken a more artistic route. Now having more freedom to do so she'd began carving designs into such as well. If she'd gotten to be known so quickly as the ice princess, perhaps she would humor it. -------------------------------------------------------- '...Seeing Kwartz apply himself was truly a miracle...' Serai thinks as she listens to the well timed questions to Brauigan. Stepping aside she waits for a moment then begins leaving On his ending statement. ![]()
![]() "don't misunderstand Bob, I always will stick to the mission. But as Kwartz said, unnecessary deaths and throwing that "place" card are various ways of looking at the situation at hand that I stray away from. Like a chess board we all have different values on the battlefield, but the pawns are just as valuable if used and positioned correctly..." finishing her portion of ice cream she looks to each of her new team, her face as cold as her treat. "I learned from someone, once upon a time, that by acknowledging the skill of others I can grow as an individual. For Occams, you were truly beneficial and essential to our survival. Know that if you die that it had better not be without a fight. You have already shown me your progress on the field and I no longer expect any less of any of you..." her glare shifts more towards Kwartz. "especially your lazy ass... we both know your potential exceeds expectation. We lost many lives this week, but I'd like to think we also retrieved a miracle and have room for a comeback to take as many in place of those fallen." Serai shifts for comfort in her bed. Letting this all seemingly sink in for a few moments before continuing she stretches from a seated position. "that aside, it is a pleasure to be serving with each of you." she ended with a tone she'd meant to be more appropriate given the speech she'd just concluded. Still being something she was far from good at she reclines, resting her head on her pillow still awake and listening for a time but also done with trying to overcompensate for her excruciating delivery of anything charismatic. Not being her forté really threw her, herself, off and before giving herself an aneurysm, she'd preserve further thoughts on the matter for another time. ![]()
![]() "Bob?..." Serai interrupts, "Occam or not we all are alive due to other people's sacrifices, and we all will continue to sacrifice. Occam or not, none of you were ever burdens and thus have my respect. We fight for survival together. Never assume I expect your life to be so frail and lesser than my own. We are a unit, I have your backs as much as you have mine." ![]()
![]() "we each have our own way of commemorating those fallen," She continues her usual cold dead stare in Kwartz's direction. "We lost many and gained little. We made it out with our lives and the will of the deceased to continue in their stead as more take their place. Only few I knew personally enough to know by name, or "a" name. We are programmed like machines with with underlining factor being that we are human with personalized will. That aside however, I simply wanted to use my down time effectively. On the battlefield it's survival, there is no time for me to think about anything else, there is no rest or we could die next." She then gets up and retrieves her own desert. "thank you" returning to her bed she covers back up and quietly eats. She hadn't spoken this much in what felt like weeks, but were only days. "By the way Kwartz... "She motions a portion, then encircles the entirety of her face, "You have something, here." signifying his entire face in the process jokingly. "Glad to see robo cop made it too" she adds in nodding at Audric. ![]()
![]() Still laying there, Serai quietly listened as the transactions of conflict went on between, "mainly", the two. "Kwartz, just shut up and listen before she beats you further..." Serai interjects. Now sitting up taking full advantage of the bed and down time she looked to the others. "Forgive the rudeness of my interruption, I was hoping to be able to take full advantage of some peace and quiet free from the pouting before we have to return to the battlefield." She adds directing it towards her superiors this time. The soreness in her chest reminded her of her earlier days of training, momentarily a daydream she'd had before the outbreak. ![]()
![]() haha, i was just talking to Audric about this happening! Serai enters the room and sits awaiting the debriefing patiently replacing her ear buds back into her ears to drown out the noise around her. Shifting in her seat for comfort she dozed off, coming to only as Langley enters the room. Still groggy for the next few moments she quickly became aware as 'good news' was brought up. Hopeful, she removed her ear buds... "You get some cancer!..." she watched as he made his way around the room, "You get some cancer!..." realizing she was next she looked up at Langley and nodded silently..."You get some canc-..." Coming to once more only left her in more of a daze as her sense of time felt off. Looking about she noticed the others waking but instead laid there still for a moment longer staring up at the ceiling. ![]()
![]() "I never said I would, you simply implied it on your own terms. While you did do good out there,..." she pauses thinking a momentime as if her mind had taken to a different thought. She checks her gun reloading it prior to shouldering it like the others, "now's not the time" Internal conflicting thoughts race through her mind asending Serai remains silent. With a roll of her neck she successfully cracks it with a sigh, continuing forward following Owens. ![]()
![]() Serai follows Kwartz to the window and watches, gun readied as he begins his descent. Taking one last look at the room behind her as well as the view below her she follows in suit. "Show Off..." she says through a smile as she drops out of the window and begins running down the building a few paces behind Kwartz. ![]()
![]() Serai smirks in response to Kwartz while pulling out her Death Adder and securing her Longfang on her back. "Worried?... I'm simply curious" she'd say before jumping down in unison with Kwartz, her once serious face was replace now with pure joy as she jumped. It was a rush for her, one that not everyone was able to experience. Once back inside the building at a much lower level Serai would hold steady as silently as she could for a moment while holding onto her gun in a way that reflected her training with a handgun. ![]()
![]() Serai looks to her gun noticing it was no longer active for use... "I don't feel like being the only ones on or in this building. We should head to the rendezvous. Think Dauhg will be okay?". Her face, and voice both perfectly monotone as she spoke. She reloaded her gun with a fresh heartseeker, removing the remaining 3 bullets and placing them into her bag. ![]()
![]() Serai jumps out, walking to the edge and begins setting up. Running her hand through her hair before she began to aim up a shot to the Loricatus in the middle of the lee crowded street down below."Kilo three, tonight we dine in hell" Longfang, Heartseeker, Single Shot, Aim, @Loricatus, reload 5 reg rounds ![]()
![]() Serai smiles, where most would almost expect her to snap on him, she instead was calm. Unaffected by the comment or so it seemed the silencer that ensued only had a worse effect than the chewing out that was expected of her. The aura left behind was as cold as ever, simply replacing the ear bud and smirking. As she'd done so is when the great reveal of her teacher down below took place. She simply watched the others as they ooo'd and ahhhh'd at her blinding speed and skill. she'd just close her eyes and imagine the rush her teacher must get being that skilled. "watch what you say,..." she would open her eyes looking directly at Kwartz.

![]() Seemingly minding her own business, when Kwartz began speaking up she removed the earbud from her ear. The looks given between the two at the mention of ice cream in a potential war zone seemed hilarious to her. A few moments passed of silence before she smiled in response, she could tell a couple of the others held on to her every word in curiosity. Her reputation of being cold hearted amused her, eating it up like the icing it was. "hey Drahg, I think he's talking to you." she'd say jokingly. Serai would let a moment pass, remembering the last person to have asked her that. Long story short she broke his nose and finger. Serai will stare briefly at the newly boarded member. 'Reaper huh?' ![]()
![]() Tap that s+** soldier!,...erhem Sera I walks out in the standard Loki armor, you catch a glance of her putting in an ear bud to her right ear while looking more and more frustrated trying to tie her hair back. Catching sight of the group she makes her way through a small wall of people and with a smile she reaches toward Drauhg, pulling the sword from his person and cutting it short. I'd like to think its pixie-esk short like Shino from GGO "there, that's better, thanks" she says handing back the sword."you did get buff huh? Deployment load out: Longfang, 4 Heartseeker bullets, 2 extra mags with standard Longfang ammo, Hardline, 2 Timer grenades. ![]()
![]() Serai, having positioned herself during the prep speech with her legs crossed now responded to Kwartz. Uncrossing her legs, "Is that what they're calling me now? hmm, I never knew" She now stood looking to the others as a whole. "Kwartz, you're the best because I know you are able to make good judgement in any given situation. I trust that instinct of yours as well as you in general." She'd clarify. "Drahg, I don't know what you're training did for you, but it looks as if some of the training paid off." Her gaze would look him over as if looking over a new car before the test drive. Now walking down the hall side by side with him, she only stared ahead. The sound of her tags jangled under her shirt, her walk becoming brisk. "Don't look for death boys, look to survive,.... if you don't live through this reunion..... I'll kill you myself" With that she moved ahead shifting through the crowded hall to get to the armory. ![]()
![]() Serai would blush at the first comment, melting into a warm smile. "you never do change, at least you're loosening up. That said I only want the best having my back" she would immediately point at Dragh a stern look now apparent, "and don't you dare say 'that's what she said,... Or any other snide remarks" Her gaze would lighten up, " I am glad that we get to meet up again. I look forward to seeing what it is you were taught." ![]()
![]() was mostly going for the jealousy thing, not to mention like you said the whole military acting in outward appearances affecting it. More for the feel that they look at her and think she takes it too seriously or not seriously enough, and because of such some dislike her straight up. "yeah? Just like you to be anything less she's say jokingly. Today I finished early, I was in the middle of cleaning my gun before my next training rotation." Serai would begin glancing around the room taking it in, looking for any visible cameras as it was a secret hobby of hers. The thoughts of an upcoming battle rushed through her veins, both in excitement as well as anticipation. Why else would they call them all there? ![]()
![]() The years passed like a dream. Now memories littered my thoughts like blurs of passing cars. Focusing only on that first test I'd taken together with Kwartz, Drahg and Grimm. That one miss always haunted me, and for the following years it only pushed me to practicing day in and day out to better hone her skills. Being the only girl among-st them I often heard comments like: 'Look at her, thinking she's all high and mighty'
Like I cared, I was here for myself. I wanted to be the best at what I did, saving lives while I did so was the plus. The rush of landing that perfect shot, the kick of my gun, the smell of and sounds of bullets... It was the life I traded in for, and it was worth it to me. Often I worked with Kwartz, and came to know him the best. His aptitude to back me up as well as work parallel to me made for successful missions. I was the last to show up of them. Walking in greeted by their stares not alike to those I got from most others. Standing still in the doorway, "Long time Grimm,..." she vaguely would nod in his direction following up the same with, "Drahg..." before sighing and pulling up a seat in the room. "You both seem to be doing well, I mean,... you're both still alive." A sly smile etched its way across my face. ![]()
![]() Serai rolls her eyes, nothing about risking your life was fun, exhilarating was a better term for the situation. Break it's neck? Great! What if the geezer was testing you and dropped another dog in here? Though it was unlikely the possibility was there. "are we done here old man?", her words rung in her own mind as she said them, refusing to take her eyes off the dog at the other end of the arena. |
