A lot of discussion over a small rule that only breaks the game he is in. Simply play with a GM that will allow stats over 18 at first level. Problem solved.

1. Do you currently like pathfinder 1e? (I know it sounds loaded, but please bare with me.) yes

2. Did you once like pathfinder 1e but now find it troublesome? (feel free to give details.) yes, too much added afterwards

3. Do you like 4th or 5th edition D&D? (Also sounds loaded but again no judgments) 4th no, 5th better. I didn't play 4th. I played a little of 5th

4. Which are you looking for class balance, smoother high level play, more options, or even all of those things? (Small edit: these weren't meant to be mutually excursive, I just want the gist of what you're looking for, feel free to add additional thoughts/desires as well.) all of them

5. How do you feel about making the game more accessible in general? Yes

6. Are you willing to give up on accessibility if you can still gain all of the benefits listed in question 4? Yes

7. Would you be willing to play an alternative rules system then what we have been presented? (A different version of pathfinder 2nd edition if you will). Yes

8. And if you said yes to the above question what would you like to see in that theoretical game? (Most of you will see what I'm doing here, I'm finding common ground) pf1 and pf2.

In general, pf1 was good in a lot things, but some things needed redone. From pf1 I would use the races and skill system, probably the feat system. From pf2 I would the spell system and character generation system. But all of the systems would need some work.

What about lifting and bulk?

18 strength is 18 strength, just because I am a foot shorter and 50lbs lighter shouldn't change that. It's shouldn't make a difference on lifting. It should only mean things that fit me weigh less because there is less material.

A goblin with 18 str and a giant with 18 str can carry 9 bulk before being encumbered. They both wear plate mail, the goblins weighs 2 bulk and the giants 4 bulk due to size.

It comes down to some things are learned, some things are genetic. If it is genetic, ie darkvision, immune to sleep, resistance to poison, you should just have it. If it learned, racism, racial weapons, able to better fight giants, then it can be an option and learned later in life. Pretty simple if you ask me

So what is the going rate on DT accounts right now ?

Please do remember its EE and not all systems are in. Also at this conjecture, we are trying to promote the game. We could kill you guys, rob your husks, take your supplies, and then leave you to deal with the escalations naked. It wouldn't take much with our populations levels right now. I am sure as we get our systems in (assassination, poisons, disguise, etc.) we will become the evil you all know we are.

If you killed them, you can loot them without additional penalty. If you didn't kill them and you loot them, you get flagged as a thief. That might include a Reputation penalty, but I'm not sure.

[Edit] This was discussed in the design. I have no idea if it was implemented. See Blood on the Tracks.

[Edit 2] More recent confirmation from Stephen Cheney: You'll take the Criminal flag if you didn't have loot rights.

After looting with out rights, I didn't notice any flags. guess we should watch and make sure of all these in the next couple of days.

This is correct.

Example, Player A did not participate in the events that led up to Player B's demise. Player A happens upon Player B's husk. Player A loots Player B's husk.

Does Player A get a reputation hit?

I have looted a husk that me or my group didn't kill, and i recieved no reputation hit.

I stream some times. Just starting out, so I'm not the best streamer. I hope to be better by the time the game goes live so that we can attract more players. Also, you can stop by say hi or ask questions.

i think this is a glitch. It shouldnt be subject to the 25% destroyed list if it doesnt even exist. Only your inventory is subject to that. I would bug report it.

Trolls aside, it was fun and learning. We did what we could with the current mechanics. Your tactics in getting a defense up was a good idea. It just happened we couldn't continue even if we wanted. Rep reasons. You came and did what I would call a safe fire training exercise. We made sure to not "farm" any one on our attack and you all did the same. Although we did kill D. Brutus a bit because we didn't want scouts in our area. His stubbornness did win out and we relented.

Now tomorrow, war is on!! Death to you all

The complaint is that you cannot tell who is on your side and who is an enemy. Healers cannot find their people all the way across the battlefield that need healing. Well it isn't for the developers to force you back into formation. The serious advantage of a formation is that if someone is where they are supposed to be you don't have to check their name to see who they are you KNOW who they are and where they are. If they aren't where they are supposed to be it is on them (but your reputation and military success will remind you to encourage them to stay in formation).

My complaint isn't the telling friend from foe. It isn't about seeing who across the battlefield needs healing. It's more about being able to target them. I don't mind so much that I have to click to identify them. It's that it is a damn pain to actually click them. But I do also believe that if a person is in your party/company/raid, that when they are close enough, you should be able to identify with out clicking on them.

Goblin Squad Member

I remember fighting for anonymity for reasons of ambushes and assassination. I had an in depth idea but it would be some thing for later down the road. For now, it would be nice to company mates, group mates, and a raid group interface.

Targeting should be a bit easier. A bigger area to targe etc. As for identity, mouse over mini map for a name. You should remember names or have a list, its not that hard.

You've singlehandedly fixed PvP without dev involvement????

Or do you mean you took close to 2 hours to enact a form-up and when you finally berated enough of your carebears to put down their shovels and craft a weapon you discovered many Golgothans were too rep damaged to enter their own settlement without Thornguard aggro, so you milled around in Golgotha for a while and took a screenshot?

Please, please don't tell me you forgot the "glorious victory" screenshot.

---

Note, I know my portrayal above isn't entirely fair, but is probably closer to reality than yours. I can't be entirely sure because my assigned role wasn't blobber last night. (Don't get me wrong, I love the blob, I just took one for the team by accepting a different role. And thanks to Decius Brutus, Pino and Khurtis for the #PFOcontent on what would otherwise have been a very boring but essential task).

I appreciate you visiting Golgotha, and personally apologize for not being able to provide you with more #PFOcontent than I did on your visit, but the rep system is currently a rationing system on PvP, and I, personally had largely used up my rations on your forward scouts (while awaiting your god-awful ridiculously long response team form-up), and upon your arrival, only a few of your people were willing to *significantly* tap their PvP ration cards by attacking first.

I offer mad props, though, to ALL players from either side who actually tapped there ration cards enough to not be able to enter their own settlement. Even I didn't quite gain that honor.

In fact, I demand :-) a roll-call of those brave crowd-forgers who fell below -2500 rep last night.

Only a couple our side went below. We knew the limit, which is why only a few of us were around afterwards. Also, had some systems been in place we could have defended instead of trying to coax them into taking an attacker flag.

Most of us went negative rep. I doubt they can say the same.
@All involved, TY it was good fun. And salute to those who achieved negative rep. Even if it wasn't -2500.

I'm going to guess the person you were healing was flagged red. Once a characters has a red name, you can't heal them, because the system is assuming they are an "threat" and healing won't apply to any threat target.

You are right in that aspect. I am not sure if I was red or not at that time. He was how ever in my group, which should over ride that fact. There should also be a raid group of some type that also allows the same.

Goblin Squad Member

But we couldn't get u all to attack. Only a couple of u were willing to take the attacker/aggressor flag. So we couldn't defend being that our rep was way low already from not holding back on our attack.

But it was fun having 10 ppl chase me and only 1-2 attacking me as I ran circles or in front of your raid.

Goblin Squad Member

@Stephen when can we see buffs and heals being affected by keyword? Not many ppl wanting to play a cleric at the moment because of that. At least from what I am hearing.

I can confirm the Energetic Field bug when casting it as you switch hexes. I think that is also the source of the 'HP Stops Regening' bug. Relogging fixes both problems.
I've done a lot of experimenting with this and it seems that it is not when casting the spell, but having the buff active while crossing a hex. A party member had this cast on them then crossed a hex and was affected by the bug.

I agree, I specifically did not cast a spell from log in until crossing a hex. I received the bug, but I couldn't cast any thing, not just energetic field. This is quite annoying.

My 2% speed from armor feature and energetic field do stack nicely. But not agile feet and energetic field.

Boredom. Test the limits of the rep system. Increase player morale in a game that is presently an "economy simulator." Because PvP is what Golgotha does best!
Gotcha, I didn't know if they had sneaked in looting. Haven't played in a bit.

Player looting isn't in yet

Goblin Squad Member

It was good fun. But having taken the initiative the first fight, we didn't have the rep to initiate the second. With only a few of u willing to get the aggressor flag, we couldn't attack and the PvP wasn't there. So really no content, ppl left.

Also, there was issues. Healing some one didn't work due to latency or lag. I ran up and got off 3-4 heals on a target which was never received. Targeting, enough said there I believe. And it was basically the only way to tell friend from foe.

But all and all, good fun. Just waiting on Dev videos and analysis of this episode.

All the geforce gt 720 I find are 64bit interfaces. This would be the problem if yours is the same. You really want 256+ interface for good perfor!amce. 1gig of GDDR is good, 2 better, 4 not quite needed yet but doesn't hurt. Remember transfer rate is a biggy when looking for performance.

Half the problem I see is you all are worried about leveling stuff. I have played 8+ hours each day. I don't feel like it's a grind. We conquered an escelation, striped mined a hex, and built up a store of resources for our people. We have had any where from 3 to 7 or 8 people together to do things. We are TS having fun. We also been about killing ppl. Sorry if that was one of you. There was plenty to do with out worrying about what I need to level. I think doing other things will take some of that boredom away.

But I also think that healing should help you meet those gates. Also, healing needs a little range. 10m or so would be good in my eyes.

Welcome to the forums! A lot of us have been here for quite some time, years for some. We love to see new people and hear new ideas. We are glad to see you.

With that said, please remember this is Alpha. This game is far from finished. Things are broke, things aren't in game yet, some are temporary. Of you are unsure about the way it is working, ask. There are a lot of well informed people around.

One thing we have learned is, Goblinworks listens. But being negative won't get you much attention by them. If you don't like the way some thing works, state why and purpose a solution, or ask if there isn't a better way. For over two years we have been going back and forth with them to come up with waits to get this game to work as intended. New ideas are welcome and probably needed.

Also, we as a community have strived to keep negativity and toxic behavior out. A good debate is great and needed. But the negativity isn't. Our current community is awesome, but we are going to be getting tons of new faces. Please help to keep things going in the right direction.

It is alpha, it is a test! Enjoy.

This is close to hearsay, but I do recall someone saying that the devs mentioned that Stephen or Lee or whoever is going to move some of the recipes around so they are accessible sooner. The classic example of this is Coarse Padding, which currently requires Level 7 weaver- or two weeks worth of exp. That will be moved to a lower crafting level. I believe Weak Varnish (currently level 5 Alchemy) is also set to be moved lower. This should relieve some of the tension after the first few days and hep to get resources and the economy moving sooner.

Also, hopefully everything I just said is true and not me perpetuating rumors from in game.

I really do hope so. Right now looking over materials needed to craft armor, I saw that to make basic metal armor required lvl3 smelter, where leather required lvl7 weaver. A bit out of balanced there. Also, having to spend XP other places to get the crafting points to advance wastes XP. Some of this was due to the recipe bug, but not sure if all of it was.
