I was wondering what the possibility of our getting a pdf version of the adventures without the background and possibly images would be? If your layout folks work like I do, they set up a master page with background. It should be a simple thing to remove the image in the master and then just export them again.

I'm not sure how much extra time this would take, or if it's even all that feasible for you guys. But I like to keep the book to read but run with paper printouts, as I can mark them up and write on them directly. A version that didn't have the background would really, really save me a lot of printer ink.

So, is this possible? Or should I just soldier on and keep cutting and pasting out of the pdf?

Okay, I've had a good read through of my newly arrived Pathfinder, and mostly I'm quite happy. It looks really interesting and for the first time in ages I might actually run a module instead of making my own up. But one thing is bothering me.

The complete and utter over-use of Shatter.

Every single spellcaster who can cast the spell has it memorized. Including the wizard, who could have a less annoying but more dangerous spell in its place. It's a small thing, but man - it seems like the entire point of all the spellcasters is to completely destroy any of the fighters weapons just out of spite.

I know it's easy to change, but man: that's way too mean and incredibly frustrating for players. Destroying a fighters weapon only makes him pissed off, it doesn't make the game more challenging. Add to this the fact that more or less almost all of the weapons are small and you have a real problem.

*sigh*

Great otherwise, but man, this is really bugging me.

Can you guys give me a hand? I'm going crazy sorting through my back issues (though I am getting smiles from all the old comics. This might be delaying my search...)

I think I remember a chaotic monk variant in a recent issue of Dragon (recent being within the last 2 years or so). Can anyone point me towards the right issue?

Cheers,
