Deadly Aim: You can make exceptionally deadly ranged attacks by pinpointing a target’s weak spot, at the expense of making the attack less likely to succeed.
Prerequisite: Dex 13, base attack bonus +1.
Benefit: Add an amount equal to your Dexterity modifier (or your base attack bonus, whichever is lower) to your ranged damage rolls for one round (in addition to the normal damage modifier from a high Strength score, if applicable). Subtract the same amount from your ranged attack rolls for 1 round.
Point Blank Shot: You are skilled at making well-placed shots with ranged weapons at close range.
Benefit: You get a +1 bonus on attack and damage rolls with ranged weapons at ranges up to 30 feet.

Sam Longshanks is employed along with his father as a game warden, keeping predators in check, clearing forest trails and hunting meat for Clearbrook. He is a shy 18 year-old, raised by his widower father Nigel in a hut out in the forest.
Sam lives up to his last name, being fully 6’ 4” tall and skinny as a rail. He is a dark-complexioned youth, tanned by the sun and with dark brown hair and brown eyes. He dresses in green homespun and leather armor with a warm wolf-skin cloak his father tanned for him. His only jewelry is a silver cloak brooch that is the only thing he has of his mother, who died in childbirth with him. He often carries his pet ferret Dancer with him, who he has trained to hunt small tunneling vermin.
Sam is a mean shot with a bow, and he is very good at crafting bows and arrows, which he often does in his quiet times to trade in town. Sam comes into town at least every fortnight to get supplies for him and his father. He often brings furs, as the predators he kills often have nice pelts. His father tans the pelts for him to sell.
Shy and gawky in town, Sam is silent and quick within a forest’s eaves. In town he often stops for a pint at the Green Lady Tavern, where he moons over Misty Clover, the Clover daughter closest to him in age. Although he fancies her, he is too shy to strike up more than a courteous “how are you” with her. He often spends time at Maia’s Meats, trading in any game he has caught. He likes Maia as a friend, and the two have often had conversations about nature and animals.
Recently, there have been several unexplained killings of deer in the forest. Sam is beginning to get concerned that there is a gang of poachers about.
