I think that, whatever we do, we should do it fast. Who has rope? Let's bind it, and tie it around my waist. I will run with it. I'm not sure we're ready to face two more of those creatures.
Sami nods at Eretria, then puts a hand on Darc's armored shoulder in sympathy. It sounds like that's the best way, then. Now, it's just the matter of crafting a, well...a craft on which we can ferry the cylinder to its final destination. He scans about for some appropriate means and methods, though he knows little of the construction of such a craft.
Sami shrugs, not seeming to understand whether Lum's question is an honest one or to prove the point of their own danger. I swim quite well; and I've learned much about piloting a boat. Though, we'd only a regrettably simple craft. I know a little about making one, having done so already.
Sami nods quickly at the notion. Indeed - that may be well worth the time, particularly seeing as how you're so loathe to touch it. He inclines his head to Versey, then turns to Elisandira and smiles, though his is still touched with sadness. Thank you for your offering...I can understand what it means to you, even though I... He looks down at his own, bare chest. ...have armor of a different nature.
Sami glances down at his simple garments and visible lack of heavy weaponry, as if to prove his point. He looks up with a grimace and shakes his head.
Sami nods, seeming at ease with the observation. Well, that's certainly better than the alternative, though the situation is no less dire. Elesandira, Rashun was...is one of our companions. He's been with us for some time. I feel at least a small comfort that he is with Gallowsmith, for he's quite capable. Lum, Versey - now that we've defeated that awful thing; what can you do?
Sami's scaled face draws downward in confusion and concern. Rashun...attacking Gallowsmith? But - why? He has been an ally through all of this; had he gone mad? He clenches his fists in frustration, for he knew that no one present could answer such questions. Besmarial - can you reopen the gate, or open a different sort of communication?
Sami grunts noncommittally, then reaches a hand out as an offering for Selveshanea to sniff. He grits his teeth at the futility of the situation, then nods to Elesandira. My apologies...Xavier was a friend, and he will be missed. I fear I've let his loss temper my manners. My name is Sami Johoro, and it's a fine thing to meet you. In light of our current situation, we could indeed use your help.
Sami steps back, though more out of fear than surprise. He unconciously steps back with one leg to turn his body and provide a more narrow target to the newcomers. His words come out with venom, as if the disappearance of his friends was the fault of the new arrivals. And did the wise master say what he plans to do with our friends?

Sami frowns, then shakes his head. He looks to Eretria, whom he would typically defer to with such a request.
Sami's face falls in open sympathy. She just seemed to be opening up to this man, and now he's... With a snarl, he turns to Darc and Rashun. Is there nothing you can do for him?
I'd much rather keep it going; having a great time of it! I've already mentioned this spot in another game with high-caliber players...I'd say that if we get in someone we can trust, then we continue as is, but if we have to go back out to the recruitment process instead, then perhaps we should just rejigger. I just would hate to see you go through the process then pick up someone who subsequently ditches on us.
Sami rushes to the side of his fallen friend, falling to the ground and feeling around the fighter to check his vitals by touch and not sight. As the truth of the situation sinks in, he growls in frustration and hammers the ground beside Xavier's body with a tight fist. As his vision clears, Sami spots the cylinder and motions to it as he inclines his head to Versey. Though he means it only as a question, his words come out as a predatory growl. Do you know what that thing is?. Is that from your ship?
Sami moves closer, but stays sligtly back, waiting for his vision to clear. After hearing Darc's words, he puts away his sling and prepares to pummel the creature as soon as he can see it once again.
Sami moves forward from memory, headed towards the what he remembered to be the rear of the beast. He takes only three long strides, his movement hampered by his impairment. As he continues to stalk the creature, he hurls another bolt at where he figured the creature to be.

Sami curses at the sudden darkess before his eyes, but maintains his composure enough to continue on his course and loose a bullet, which missed terribly.
Sami grits his teeth in frustration at the sight of what had become their leader being engulfed by the creature. He charges around the side of the creature, looking for a good angle to attack, letting fly a bullet from his sling as he moves.
How long has it been since our last scuffle?
Sami smiles at her confidence. What is your plan, Eretria? I'd rather not get in the way of any spells you wish to cast on this creature.
Sami tenses at the sight of the creature. He looks at the area about the plant to see if there's any other dangers.
Sami points. Movement...there! He swiftly gets in front of Versey, his fists high and at the ready, even though the danger is quite far away. Lum...I hesitate to ask, but that is where we need to go...right? Past that moving tree?
Sami nods, and moves forward with even more caution, motioning for Xavier as he does. He speaks in urgent whispers, as if the source were hiding behind the nearest foliage. Should we take any certain precautions as we proceed? It seems as if we're simply walking into danger.
Sami trudges along dutifully, following Versey closely in order to protect the odd creature if potential dangers were to present themselves. He keeps his eyes open for any plants that seem to move a bit too quickly.
Sami nods his thanks at Darc, as he was having a difficult time even discovering which parts of Versey were which. That being said, can we afford a few minutes to get our large friend here back up and mobile before we proceed? I'm loathe to run into more of these things with such a burden as his form on my shoulders.
Sami nods quickly at their success, seemingly satisfied with their performance. He winces as he looks down at Versey and hurries to his side in an attempt to discern how bad he was actually hurt.
Sami calmly shifts his feet to alter the path of his strikes, and lashes out at the vegetation before him with a flaming fist.
Sami lashes out at the creature assaulting Versey, his fists a blur of motion even as he fights against the pull of the surrounding vegetation.
Sami tries to stay clear of the grasping vegetation.
Though hampered by the surrounding plantlife, he steps forward to swing at the large vines before him.
Sami, seeing the danger, charges forward in front of (and presumably under) Besmarial to protect Versey from one of the killer vine. He sets his Dragon stance quickly and emits the ferocious roar of the beast that he models his pose after.
Sami helps Xavier as much as he can along the last leg of their journey. . Alas, the current proves strong enough to challenge his body, and he ends the trip barely able to bear the weight of his own arms.
Always, Xavier. We cannot let ourselves become lazy in these peaceful days, for our enemies will surely not.
Sami nods at the hunters with the respect that those of their talents deserve, then sets to finding all of the entrances into the building in order to account for them in terms of defense. As he does so, he searches for any hidden crevices or areas of significant damage where something like an evil plant monster could gain entry.
Sami motions to the stone house. As fine a place as any to camp, I'd think. Shall we go and make sure it's unoccupied, and then settle in for the evening?
Sami eyes the jetty, and then the shore around it, searching for any potential opposition.
He casts a sideways glance at Lum. Does this seem like the right path?
Sami nods solemnly, remembering the effects that the Seugathi had on his own mind. I agree - we should avoid it; we came here for fights of a more specific purpose, and to a specific end result. We can't lose time trying to chase down one of those creatures; besides - who knows how many are out there?
Sami watches as the creature passes by, thoughts of that darkness invading his mind once again forcing him to clench his hands into fists and narrow his eyes in anger. He gives a satisfied nod as it leaves his field of vision. Perhaps whatever that was doesn't like water; we can only hope. Lum, have you or Versey ever seen anything like that?
You have our thanks; this will help immensely. I'm not certain how many of these plants we'll face, but from what you said, we'll be far outnumbered. So...they're all slightly different, then? You mention that these are specimens from different worlds; is there some sort of controlling mind to them, or are they acting at random?
Sami merely shakes his head at the absurdity of it all. In his previous life, he was a farmer, a fighter, and little else. This talk of other planets, ships that fly above the sky, and control devices was talk that he would have immediately dismissed if not for what he had already seen firsthand. That, coupled with the fact that the story was translated through a flying helmet that he could confidently call a friend was enough to make him listen intently to Versey's story. So...the plan is to break our way through the plantlife so that Versey can repair the device, correct? Does Versey know if there's any advantage we can use over the plants? I would think that they'd be particularly vulnerable to fire; is there anything else that could drive them away or confound them?
Sami nods in contemplation, though he really had no idea whatthe gnome was talking about. Indeed, as my friend said - we will of course help; can we get underway today?
Sami awakens even more curious than he was the night before. He eyes Versey and Lum, unsure if he could understand how the larger being may understand his question. Versey was in a ship from...where, exactly? Beyond the skies? If we get to the power source for his ship - how will that help you get rid of the plants? The question seems to be merely for the sake of slating his curiousity; he is still fully willing to help.
Sami inclines his head to acknowledge Lum's point. True, but we fight out of necessity, not because we wish to. The easiest path is usually not the most rewarding, my friend; we do what we must to, as Rashun said, get rid of evil.
Sami nods with Xavier, his expression showing resolve. I will of course follow where you would go; no matter what, it's imperative that we finish what task we were set upon, and we can hardly do that with this...er, plant problem. He looks to Lum. Will you rest the night and mend? We can leave upon the dawn.
Sami turns his head slightly to the side, finally hearing something that he can focus on. This plant creature - does he have an idea of where it may be now?
