So my group didn't want to spend the 50 GP at all to recruit people. They tried to talk some of the passengers on but the checks failed.

There are some passenger that are willing to come aboard without paying the fees so those were the ones I picked.

As for the drama event, if you have multiple angles try to have them all going and see which the party bites at. I had 2 different drama events but only one the players actually "fell for" and caught themselves in a dangerous situation.


In combat healing or even someone with the medic feats definitely changes things a lot. Having someone that can do major healing in battle allows the party to stay up through combats and really soften some of the heavy blows that monsters can do.

Even if your martial character gets hit for half their hit points in a round, if they can get healed up more then half of that before the next round that changes their tactics from having to play it safe to staying in for that extra swing for a potential Crit.


Depending on group they may not even last that long. But as someone else said, with basic grab it’s an action. Only Improved Grab lets them do it as a free action after the strike.

At level 1 the handlers probably would have an easier time knocking the players out and tying them up then.


Book 6 was my favorite to run. With the opening scene of the massive gauntlet battle to using a variety of intense monsters near the end, there were a lot of fun tools to use.

Mengkare is a great NPC where even my party saw him as a proper threat that had to be sorted as well as Dahak.

The final battle certainly needs work. I rewrote it to spice it up a bit and even then it was still not as dangerous as some other fights in the book.
