Oooor you could just use the rules for the old advancement through savage species for 3.5 and advance as a half-dragon monster class, which gives HD, slowly adds ability scores and gives special abilities across 3 levels before you pick your class.

Hello everyone,

I am so grateful that my meager post years ago spawned this massive undertaking. I hadn't checked this post in a long time as I thought not much would come of it. I just noticed today that it had grown to monumental proportions and taken shape into something amazing. Thanks to zerzix along with everyone else who contributed.

Has there been any effort to adapt the "Savage Species" rulebook to Patherfinder? I think this book was very well done and give an excellent example of how to handle adapting monsters to PCs without over-powering.

Thanks a ton. It was right in front of me doh.

Even better question. Where in the hell in the Core rulebook does it describe how players gain feats as they level? In the character generation section it says to check "class," but I'm seeing all sorts of posts where every character is also gaining additional feats for leveling at every odd level. Can someone tell me where to look to clarify this?
