When I recreated Amiri as a PC for a game, I gave her the much same origin, except that she managed to defeat the frost giant by combining trap building and luck. And she didn't kill her clanmates, but was abandoned by them during a fight on a trip to Sandpoint, which was enough to get her to quit the clan.
