I'm sorry, but I understand. :(

Rokayla whistles when Xevras shows up.

"You REALLY know how to make an entrance, Xev!"

She's already in her armor as well, gun slung across her back and hooked blade at her side. She grabs her dark mote and it briefly takes the shape of a small rifle, before she releases it and it returns to its normal form.

"Ready!"

Rokayla raises an eyebrow.

"I'm gonna get up at 0500. Greet the sun and all that solarian stuff. Gotta get a full day in surveying and sh!t."

"I'm not mad, Flux. I'm just disappointed."

Rokayla pointedly says nothing as she picks up a slice of her pizza and takes a bite, giving Balazar the kind of "I'm not mad, I'm just disappointed" look moms master so well.

Rokayla gives Balazar an annoyed look.

"Not really something you should play at, Bal. Not funny."

Dumb question Balazar, but what exactly are you trying to fake-choke for?

"What the-?!" Rokayla exclaims.

"Been too long since I've had a proper pizza," Rokayla comments while they wait. "Last time I was at the Lorespire, one of the newer recruits wouldn't stop yammering about some cult of halflings running a conspiracy to infiltrate the Pact Worlds' pizza joints. Think he was working with one of my classmates from the Cosmonastery now that I think about it."

In the Dead Suns game where I play that classmate, that's what one of my party-members actually believes! :P

Oh, but you can still make conversation! :P

"I'LL happily give it a try! Love mead!" Rokayla happily adds, pointing upwards to draw attention to herself.

I'm just trying to keep things flowing, no matter what stage we're in. I think once we've had a nice dinner scene (perfect way to make conversation and display our characters' tastes!) we can get into the REAL adventurey stuff!

"Please and thank you!"

Just posting to show I'm paying attention!

Rokayla waves back to the people greeting them, and looks up at the arcology. She gives an approving whistle.

"Can't wait to move into the top floor of THAT!" she says.

"Let's get going. Think we're all getting hungry...well, all of us but Flux," Rokayla says.

"Have you considered doing trivid-ads for AbadarCorp?" Rokayla teases. "Handsome human like you with a talent for PR speak'd make a lot of creds doing that."

And now I wanna play Stellaris again...or maybe try out Surviving Mars.

"ACTUAL food, not MREs," Rokayla adds.

"While I'd been planning on bunking at the new Lodge, if there's available space up for grabs, I might as well take some. Be handy to coordinate with you folks if we're gonna be working together for an extended period of time. Let's get going!"

"Nice seeing you live a little, Tia!" Rokayla replies with a grin.

Yeah. For me as an "essential infrastructure service worker," my schedule's the most consistent it's been in the 4 years I've worked at the hotel, but because we have so few people there I have next to nothing to actually DO for the time I'm on the clock, so the weeks are kind of just blending together. It's kind of impacting my creativity and motivation too... :(

Rokayla doesn't say anything, giving Tjartka the chance to speak first. The Lodge had been her show, now it was Tia's turn.

As the group disperses, Tjartka glances at Rokayla's familiar face, before shrugging. "I... don't know what we can do to aid right now, as we're not registered yet. I feel like.", she pauses, glancing up at a dilapidated skyscraper. "I think I feel like climbing to the top of one of those and just being there, really high, but on the ground. But we should stay close to base camp."

"Sounds neat-o. Lead the way."

"I've got one thing. There's a facility along one of the more of less intact raised highways to the north that we believe might have been a school. It's a bit further out than we've had a chance to fully explore, but it may have significant amounts of information and it may help speed up compiling a functioning translation matrix that doesn't rely on constantly recasting spells." Jask 'smiles' again. "I'll get in touch with security and get the details sorted out to get you out there. Hopefully, you'll be clear to go by tomorrow. Until then, you're welcome to rest here or go look around and look for a place of your own."

"Great! I'm going to go with Tia for now, see what we need to do for starting our other big project here. I'll be back later to claim a bunk."

She turns to her fellow ferran.

"So what's our next step? Or first step...you know what I mean."

"F*** Aspis," Rokayla replies, crossing her arms. "You got any hotspots we should prioritize lookin' at."

"Did you know that long-term low-level lead poisoning leads to increased aggression in humans?"

"That's still a problem in this day and age?" Rokayla comments with a raised eyebrow. "Figured the only places you saw that were in pre-space-flight civilizations...like REALLY pre-space-flight, just-discovering-indoor-plumbing-pre-space-flight."

"Treasure hunters? The briefing didn't mention THOSE being here. We got competition to worry about?"

"Nah, we're short-staffed, but not THAT short-staffed!" Rokayla replies with a mild, jocular punch to Balazar's arm.

"Hey, I'm not some tenderfoot just out of their Commencement! I've been around the block a few times. Shark tanks aren't that scary if you know what you're getting into and have practiced handling them...Think the metaphor kinda got away from me there."

Rokayla turns and looks at Tia.

"Your choice, Tia. You don't have to throw yourself into what could be very real danger on my account. From structural hazards alone, if not hungry critters or more confused robots."

Rokayla grabs Jask's hand and pumps it up and down a couple times.

"Likewise!"

She then jerks her thumb to Tia.

"We're childhood friends, actually! We're working together to get Ikirit set for the possibility of a concentrated ferran colonization effort! Don't worry, though, I've got plenty of opportunity to help with that AND assist with any archaeological surveys or logistics in getting the Lodge going. Any other field agents beat me here?"

"Really, I could be a Starfinder? That's super neat! But..." For the first time, Flux's enthusiasm seems to deflate slightly as it stares intently at the ground. "...once I find the info the Dreamers want about Ikirit, I'll have to go back to Dr. Halvale to continue our research. And I don't think he'll let me go on any more adventures after this."

"He let you go on this adventure, didn't he? You're your own person, and you made the decision to come here. Give yourself some credit!" Rokayla replies, giving Flux a playful punch in the shoulder.

The terminal isn't what anyone would call bustling, at least compared to the port at someplace like Absalom Station, but there are a fair number of colonists around, either working on restoring the building or waiting to visit various offices. However, it seems that the Starfinder office doesn't have many visitors, at least not yet. At their knock, a voice calls out from inside. "Come right in!"

"Jask? It's Rokayla Vonarx. I'm the new field agent from Absalom Station," she says as she opens the door and strides in.

Rokayla's smirk becomes and embarrassed smile and she rubs the back of her head.

"Hierarchy isn't really the right word, Tia. Lodges are mostly made up of Field Agents like me who are all equals, with the Lodge's Venture Captain being the Field Agent who likes doing organizational stuff the most. Or, like in the case of Jask, because they got here first. There's the Forum and the First Seeker back at Absalom Station, but again, they're mostly just Field Agents that other Field Agents happened to like enough to think they deserved the job."

"You may want to consider becoming a Starfinder, Flux. With curiosity as...exuberant as yours, you'd fit right in!" Rokayla comments with a smirk.

The hotel's going to be NUTS for the next two weeks, specifically the WEEKENDS TO REMEMBER!!!

It's a retreat set up by a bunch of churches across the country to send couples for a weekend of marriage-counseling and stuff at our hotel. Apparently they liked us so much LAST year that this year they're doing it TWICE!

Removing her helmet, Tjartka breathes in the fresh air of the planet. I've missed this, so, so much. Non-recycled air. If more of us left the station and smelled this, we'd have found a new planet by several generations earlier. Exhaling a sigh of relief, a smile crawls on Tia's face as the dragonkin flies off into the distance. And I can't even imagine how well he feels.

Balazar's remark prompts a gentle chuckle from the ferran, who crosses her arms. "Missing civilisation and its comforts so soon? I'm sure there's somewhere where we can find non-freeze dried food. Good for the mind, yup." Finally, she sees Rokayla's trance as she feels the planet. Seems... spiritualistic., she notes, before pointing at the horizon. "Well, I for one like it. Your perception, limited to only the bending of the horizon... so vast!"

Grabbing her helmet under her arm, she nods. "We should find the local authority so that we can be distributed employment. Can't just be kicking around aimlessly."

Rokayla opens her eyes and nods at Tjartka.

And look up that Jask Starseeker guy, to get things going with the Starfinders."

Understood, happens all the time. Get well!

Rokayla allows Xevras to exit the shuttle first, figuring the big guy needed to stretch his wings ASAP after being cramped in vessels and stations for so long.

Once he's clear, she exits after him and stretches herself, taking a deep breath of the planet's atmosphere, and closing her eyes for a moment to mentally connect with its gravitational pull and the feel of its sun on her face.

Xevras nods. "It would be a relief to have open skies in which to stretch my wings again, I must admit."

"And solid planet beneath our feet. Though admittedly, Tia would probably appreciate that more than me. I've lived on space stations and starships for the past few years anyway."

"Wait, really? Damn...these are some pretty damn resilient robots."

"You're just reactivating old tech without making sure you understand it first? What kind of scientists are running this operation?! You're lucky you just got the wind knocked out of you and not your bone marrow!" Rokayla exclaims. She releases her gun and it shrinks back into its mote form, returning to orbit her head. "You did a good job calming that thing down, Flux...honestly didn't think that was an option."

Rokayla looks at Flux with a raised eyebrow.

"The heck are you talking about?!" Rokayla replies. "We gotta get this thing to stop bangin' around before someone else gets hurt!"

She maintains her aim on the robot, waiting to see if anyone else was going to shoot at it.

Rokayla grabs her mote and it shifts into a small carbine she spins in her hands before taking aim. She holds her fire, but her mind is racing as to just how this robot became hostile.

"Give the word, Tia, and I'll ice it!"

"Economist, huh? I suppose growth and profit are important to ensure a colony can thrive...GROFIT!" Rokayla replies, cracking a smile.

WARFRAME REFERENCE! :P

"Fantastic," the half-elf says with a smile. "Actually, Dr. Kjestis, why don't you go with Mr..." She trails off, realizing that she never actually got Balazar's name. "Well, with our other new arrival here. The medical station here is our best treatment center for emergencies so I'm sure they'll be glad to see another doctor arrive and can get you acquainted with any important details."

The lines start to move more quickly as everyone gets organized and the new arrivals are moved through with little difficulty. As the colonists start to move off to other parts of the station, the crew starts to disembark and two vaguely humanoid robots start to unload the rest of the cargo into the docking bay.

"Looks like I'll start there too. There's few enough ferrans as it is, it'd be risky to get separated!" Rokayla comments as she joins the pair.

"So what's your field of study, Smythe?" she asks.

Rokayla stretches as she waits for her colleague to join her.

"Starfinders... Oh, an it is an honor to see you. We've had a few Starfinders come through, but most of them haven't stayed long. Lots of coming and going, you know. I believe the current lead on the ground is... Jask Starseeker. He's been working from the Starfinder office in the main admin complex down on the surface. You can't miss him, male shirren with a red carapace, like bright red."

"That'll change once I'm through here," Rokayla comments. "We're working towards the establishment of a permanent Lodge on this world. Thanks for the info."

She then turns back and looks at the scene Balazar's making and Tia moving to help him. She raises an eyebrow, but doesn't comment.

Rokayla strides forward to shake hands with Ms. Maldos.

"Heya, Feya. I'm Rokayla Vonarx. I got a letter of introduction here from the Starfinder Society?"

She pulls it up on her minicomputer to display it.

"Can you tell me who I'm supposed to be looking for when I arrive in Queen's Landing?"
