The cost of a case of 10 admantine bolts would be 601 gold. 1 gold for the base cost of the bolts and 600 gold (60 X 10) for the cost of the special material.

The general rule is that you need to buy ammunition in the appropriate lot size and not individually. So a case of ten bolts for example. Now there are exceptions to this general rule. You can always purchase individual pieces of ammunition if they appear as treasure earned on one of your chronicle sheets or if you own a copy of the Alchemy Manual then you can purchase durable ammunition at a cost of 1 gold per piece of ammunition (plus any additional costs for special materials).

There might be other ways around the general rule but those are the two exceptions that I can think of.

=====

Something to keep in mind more generally is that ranged weapon combat really requires more specialised training than melee weapon combat. To be effective you will need the Precise Shot feat and a way to bypass the soft cover provided by friend and foe in the thick of combat. Otherwise your character will be facing a net -8 penalty to their attack roll in most combats. Now there are times where neither of those penalties apply (generally at range and at the beginning of the combat) so having a ranged weapon is fine and good. It is just that most characters cannot use them effectively during most combat rounds. :)

There is a big difference between doing something in combat as opposed to doing something effective in combat. You only have so many combat rounds per game so you might as well make them count.

@Goran - I moved your character out of the area of effect of the Web spell. The doorway is engulfed with webs (black line). Your character does not have line of effect to the enemy caster due to the Web spell so you can ask the GM if you can redo your action (or not). :)

I feel like I am overstepping as a player (it is the GM's job to control the battlefield and remind players about which rolls to make) but I am trying to speed up play so we can wrap the game up on time. :)

@Ting - The text of the Web spell says that you have to make a CMB or Escape Artist check if you wish to move through webbed squares. The initial saving throw is only to see if you are grappled by the spell when it is cast. A moot point now with your successful CMB roll. :)

Prior to the final combat Rogarch sheathes her long sword and retrieves her wand of Blade Lash and places it in her spring loaded wrist sheath. She asks Goran to heal Rawk-N-Role with her wand of Cure Light Wounds. She attempts to activate her wand of Heightened Awareness, casts Protection from Evil on herself from a scroll and then renews her Shield spell from a wand.

Rogarch is able to get the drop on the boss cultist. With a flick of the wrist a scroll of Haste comes sliding out of her spring loaded wrist sheath. She reads the words of power and the enchantment takes hold on the entire party. She attempts to identify the spell being cast by the cultist before getting mad. Rogarch flies into a rage and begins to glow with a golden protective color. She moves forwards now less afraid of the scalding heat of the room while she draws her Lucerne Hammer now threatening the cultist.

If we are counting rounds maybe it would be better for Goran to take a swan dive off the platform. He has an amulet that would protect him from the fall. I can imagine the same situation with a stubborn rock hard dwarf cleric (without the amulet) damning gravity to hell and relying on his deity and his grit to easily survive the fall and heal up latter. ;)

Clearly it is a GM call but if a poison effect causes sleep then a person should be able to be roused awake by damage (or a good slap). This is in contrast to being rendered unconscious by a poison otherwise why have two different conditions for the same game effect. At least that is what I think. :)

Rogarch looks on with alarm as Ting falls victim to the poison from the snake's venom. An idea comes to her and she activates her wand of Magic Missile for the last time. She sends one of her missiles at Ting to wake him up from the slumber and the other two at the giant snake creature.

"Wake up. This is no time to get sleepy. Sorry about this!"

Magic Missile vs Ting: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4

Magic Missile CL5 (2 missiles) vs the Dark Naga: 2d4 + 2 ⇒ (4, 2) + 2 = 8

Rogarch drops her now fully expended wand and it falls to rest on top of the mound of gold coins. She puts her lucerne hammer away for now.

Rogarch decides to yet again push the big easy button. She shifts her pole-arm to one hand and draws forth her nearly depleted wand of Magic Missile. With a single word of power three missiles stream towards the Dark Naga.

Magic Missile, CL 5: 3d4 + 3 ⇒ (3, 2, 3) + 3 = 11

Hopefully the loot earned in this adventure will be enough (or nearly enough) to buy a Staff of Minor Arcana. The Magic Missile mania must continue. :)

Rogarch snags one of the potions of Cure Moderate Wounds and keeps it handy in a ready pocket.

"Is everyone ready to dash across the bridge?"

"Goran perhaps you can go ahead to open the door first when is everyone is ready."

The Bloodrager buffs herself again with her Shield wand right before the dash and stuffs it in her pocket.

I am hoping that the Run action will help us from taking damage. :)

I am assuming that it has been at least a couple more minutes for Goran to retrieve all the stuff and identify it so my original Shield spell and Mirror Image have probably expired. :)

As the two return with the treasure Rogarch nods. The warrior's plan to dash the bridge has to be slightly delayed.

Both Rogarch and Rawk-N-Role stay at a safe distance away from the bridge but line themselves up with the bridge and the door so that they can attempt to run across it in one attempt.

@GM Jhaeman - My understanding is that the damage from the heat only happens at the end of the turn. A quick dash across it should be theoretically fine. Protection or not. :)

@Ting- You must mean a 30 on a take 10 with your (reduced) modifier of +20 for disable device and a take 10. I might be able to keep my Mirror Image buff up if the door is picked quickly enough. That is better than I expected. I will be optimistic and put it back on my character's tagline. :)

While Ting is working the door lock Rogarch refreshes her Shield spell from a wand and jams it back into a handy pocket.

Rogarch says a rushed but thankful prayer to Kurgess as the dragon decides to breathe fire instead of easily disembowelling the party cleric. Surely the fates (GM Jhaeman) were exceptionally merciful today.

The bloodrager attempts to dodge the incoming inferno but is not quick enough. Much of the damage is absorbed by her arcane magic and is reduced in severity by her Ablative Barrier but some of it does get through and leaves a small burn on her left shoulder.

She then retreats to stand shoulder to shoulder with Candledark.

You actually cannot use Acrobatics to move through a threatened square if your movement is reduced by medium or heavy armor. This is something I did not know before. I wanted to try but alas, no. It is a probably a moot point anyways (as it would fail) but would be an incredible athletic achievement for a follower of Kurgess.:)

As she is taking a move action this would provoke an attack of opportunity if the dragon has Combat Reflexes (and is still alive) or has another way to make multiple AoO off its turn.

@GM Jhaeman - Rogarch should be 20 feet away from the dragon at this point. We are all running (off or) out of map. :)

Well, hopefully block initiative (and the amount of damage dealt so far) will prevent the AoO. Damage inflicted so far is 34 from Magic Missiles, 6 from Channel with a successful will save, 7 from holy water and 16 from Ting's attack (I deducted 5 for DR/5 B and 1 for being fatigued as his strength dropped down to 16). This is a total of 63 points of damage (from my vantage point). That is a lot and hopefully it will be enough. The GM will know but I don't (yet). :)

@Candledark - It is up to the GM to rule but I think that your character is fatigued as he took 1d4 non-lethal damage on the bridge before moving off it last round. I suspect that the fatigued condition will be removed when all of the non-lethal damage is healed. That is typically the case with environmental damage. At least I hope that is the case.

@GM Jhaeman - Would Endure Elements protect from this type of heat (either the 1 point non lethal and/or the 1d4+fatigued)? Also did we experience the heat only once we were on the threshold of the bridge? I am just trying to plan out what might happen after this combat and we need to deal with possibly unlocking the door on the other side of the bridge. :)
