Male Half Elf Gunslinger 1

Sorry, time got ahold of me, getting a post in.

Rission hesitates when asked to disarm. He unslings his light mace and then carefully adds his powder horn and bag of bullets to that. He cautiously adds his musket to the pile with a word of warning.

"If I hear that go off, and I will, somebody owes me the cost of repairs. And yes Dolom, my business here is mostly pleasure, but I have to eat and such. So, the prisoner knocked out a few guards. Must be tougher than they appear."

Male Half Elf Gunslinger 1

Rission just kind of shrugged when stared at. If it didn't need breaking, cooking, or getting shot he wasn't that useful.

"Excuse me sergeant, is this also where I would get travelling papers and identification?"

Rission pads himself down for a moment.

"Err, one of the others has the actual item. It's a ring belonging to a House. "

The half elf rolls his eyes at this.

"It's some beurocracy thing that goes way over my paygrade. Red tape, when anybody in the family gets caught and suddenly something routine becomes some scandal and it's a pain right?"

Rission examines the dwarf a bit closer.

"Hey, don't I know you? Yeah, I remember you from the restaurant. 2 ales, blackened swordfish, side of bread and salad right?"

Im waiting for the ring to show up and making conversation. Need a name for the establishment I work at. The Flying Loon? Work in progress.

"Of course good sir. There was unfortunately a murder recently. The suspect I believe you have detained was a warforged."

Rission is being polite. No point in being rude to someone who hasn't pissed on your breakfast.

Rission raises and eyebrow at his friends attempt at diplomacy.

"We are here to claim an item of the deceased, fill out some paperwork, and be on our way. We have proof of ownership as well."

The smaller of the half elves is next to speak.

"You can probably guess that I'm a sailor and chef by trade, but I am also experienced in the maintenance, construction, and use of firearms. If you don't know what they are, I'm good with a bow."

He smirks a bit.

"Although it sure as he'll ain't quiet like one."

Thinking for a bit, Rission shakes his head at a thought.

"Perhaps we could aid in the investigation. If we find the killer we could possibly gain this guards favor and grease his palms with coin for access to evidence in a murder?"

Rission nods.

"Why not. I'm in. Can't be too choosy now can I?"

Rission stays silent calculating his share and the amount of ammunition he could craft with it. He also eyes the woman warily ensuring he doesnt wander into a deathtrap.

A decent amount, but perhaps we can find some things to sell.

Rission makes sure that Taryn wakes up and gets ready before heading to the Broken Anvil.

"Hey Taryn, come on. If I remember correctly this place is operated by House Ghallanda. So it should be better than the last one."

Waiting for the Watch. He'd rather have his name listed as a witness than suspect at large or wanted for questioning.

Male Half Elf Gunslinger 1

"Not to be the bearer of bad news but we have to wait for the Watch now. We're witnesses to property damage, and as large a group as we are, we are more or less known. But if we let the Watch know where we will be, I'm sure we can go to the upper levels."

Reslinging his musket, Rission sighs and scratches his head.

"Almost wasted a solid crown there. Ammunition for this thing is expensive."

Perception: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (18) + 7 = 25

No, I do not spend 1gp to end a barfight.

The mumbling and grumbling half elf raises his firearm like a crossbow, staring down the iron sights he stops and puts the firearm down.

Male Half Elf Gunslinger 1

Rission is concentrating. He mumbles something about the doorframe.

mumbling:
"Fraggin raggin barfight, if I hit the doorframe I shouldn't cause any problems. Lady better get out here or it's going to get real loud real fast."

Rission unslings his musket before loading it with powder and a small ball of steel. If Belinda wasn't out in the next few moments he was heading back in.

Reflex: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (12) + 5 = 17

With the man collapsing the table, Rission hears his friend shout. Enough was enough, you would need some serious thunder to stop this racket. But he wasn't going to get caught in some bar brawl. He has a reputation to protect and a name to live up to.

"Nice work on the distraction Taryn, but we have to go. I don't think this place will have anything useful about your brother. At least not in it's current shape."

Move action stand up from prone, standard action ready to move out of the place with Taryn.

Male Half Elf Gunslinger 1

Rission grabs his friend by the shoulder and hits the deck, hiding underneath the table. Waiting for an opening or lull in the fight, Rission weathers the storm until he can escape into the streets of Sharn.

"Ms. I'm not entirely sure if a woman of your stature should be staying the night at a place such as this. Perhaps we should head to the upper levels, maybe there's a better place up there?"

Male Half Elf Gunslinger 1

Rission watches the group and waits to follow Taryn's lead.

"I am unsure of going so high up. My station doesn't usually warrant such luxuries."

Male Half Elf Gunslinger 1

Rission has specifically stopped drinking. If Taryn continues, somebody has to watch his back.

"As my friend has said. They can't cover your arse all the time. Currently I work as a cook at the Wayward Lobster. I think I've seen a few of you in there. Especially you Miss. Can't forget a wardrobe like that."

The half elf relaxes in his chair and leans back. Enjoying the chit chat, but watching how much each person drank. How much you drink when they are on the house can be a good judge of character.

Rission points to himself with a quizzical look on his face.

"Me? No, goodness no. The warforged barreled into a strangers conversation without so much as an "excuse me." Mother always said to mind your manners when meeting new people. But Taryn, you've met her, so you know how she can get."

Male Half Elf Gunslinger 1

Rission looks at his drink warily. Upon being offered another the half elf pushes the mug away from himself.

"No more for me I'm afraid. But well met all, so what brings everybody here to Sharn? Since I'm speaking I guess I'll go first. My name is Rission, Rission d'Lyrandar. Truthfully nothing but the wind and seas brought me here."

Male Half Elf Gunslinger 1

When the warforged had sidled up to Rission and mentioned the firearm Rission was none too pleased. His voice slowly rising as he talked to the warforged.

"Look buddy, I don't know who you think you are, but you haven't been invited to sit with my friend and I. Now if you can turn around and leave me be before I dance the hornpipe over your grave you rusty, barnacle bottomed, powder wetting, tin can."

His ears did perk up at the offer of coin though.

"Huh, my coin purse is a little lighter than it should be."

Male Half Elf Gunslinger 1

"They are. Fortunately through friend of a friend and all that my family was able to acquire one. It was broken at the time and after fiddling around with it for a bit I gave up. Stripped it for parts and built it from the ground up. I didn't quite understand some things at first, but I've come to enjoy it. The ammunition is expensive, but it packs quite a punch."

The server comes by and drops off two mugs of ale. Rission grabs his, raises it to his friend and proposes a toast.

"To our friendship and health."

He takes a swig like any sailor, and asks a question.

"So, aside from the missing brother, what else have you been up to Taryn?"

I'm at a different table than Hazleton, also would you be okay with Rission cursing you out?

Male Half Elf Gunslinger 1

Rission waves his hand in front of his face to disregard the current clientele.

This is quite a few oddities if I do say so myself. But I don't come here often enough to know that for sure.

"No, of course not. Okay, once a month or so. But who doesn't like to cut loose every now and then? Although there are quite a few irregulars here, nobody I've seen in town at least. Hey, don't give me that look Taryn, I'm a chef at a pretty decent place right now. Wait, I think I've seen the woman at the bar before. Yeah, can't forget clothes like that. Came in for food, didn't socialize too much, but seemed to be well off enough. Maybe a member of another house? Ah, enough of my rambling, I also have to show you this. Hear about those new toys Cannith has been coming up with?"

The half-elf pulls the sling up onto the table to reveal a nickel plated musket with pearl inlay and a tentacle engraved on the barrel.

"So, whaddya think Taryn?"

Male Half Elf Gunslinger 1

Rission's body shook as his friend clasped his hand. Another taste of home here in Sharn was more than welcome. And Taryn's brother owed him a few silver from a bet he lost years ago.

"It's good to see you old friend. I don't count the years, but it's been too long since our paths have crossed. Haldoth's vanished you say? I haven't heard anything, but I'm not quite as in the know as you are about certain things in the House. How about we hit a local tavern? The food's not quite as good as mine, but you are the adventuring sort. Where's the first place you go in town for information, rumors, and a friendly face? Come, we have a lot of catching up to do, and I have a new toy you might like to see."

Rission pats the larger half elf on the back and turns towards the hustle and bustle of the city. He leads Taryn to the Drunken Dragon where the two find a booth and order a few drinks.

Male Half Elf Gunslinger 1

Heading towards the docks, Rission smelled the saltiness of the air and let the breeze wrap itself around him before spotting a familiar face.

It couldn't be. That sly dog all the way out here?

"Taryn? Taryn d'Lyrandar, by the gods it is you. What are you doing all the way out here in Sharn?"

Sorry, posted in the game thread. Although it did sync up nicely with my wayfinder now. So that's a plus.

Male Half Elf Gunslinger 1

Rolling into, well, any port in a storm, Rission had picked up a job a few days ago at a cook at a local establishment. With only a little bit of blackpowder left, Rission needed to make some coin so he could use his houses enclave to make some more.

"Order up, fish stew. Hey boss, my shifts over, I'll see you tomorrow."

Rission heads towards the back door, grabs his pack, hooks his mace to his hip, slings his longarm over his back, and heads into the streets of Sharn.

Male Half Elf Gunslinger 1

The game is dead, Mikeawmids would you be so kind as to mark the game as dead? It was fun while it lasted though.

Male Half Elf Gunslinger 1

The castle or the Demiplane of Dread? I've done the castle a few times in various editions.

Male Half Elf Gunslinger 1

First few days of the great golem sale, so people are trying to grab the goodies while they last.

Male Half Elf Gunslinger 1

Hmm, so how's everybody doing? Seems like a quiet week in the land of Faerun.

Male Half Elf Gunslinger 1

That's why I haven't fired yet... I was going to sleep and didn't want to slow down the pace of the game in case the DM gave us some more information.

Male Half Elf Gunslinger 1

Sighing he draws his bow and the used arrow aiming it at one of the men in purple.

"Alright, let's get this over with. Just say when."

I'm literally waiting for someone to say when to attack so I can unleash the arrow, here are the rolls.

Shortbow w/Advantage: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (2) + 5 = 71d20 + 5 ⇒ (3) + 5 = 82d6 + 3 ⇒ (2, 3) + 3 = 8 And I cannot seem to roll a 10 or higher on anything but skill rolls. *sigh* And I don't have the bonus action stealth thing yet, let's hope the gods of luck shine on the others.

Male Half Elf Gunslinger 1

Moving as quietly as a cat ready to leap upon its prey the half elf moves forward. Spotting the group in purple he readies his bow.

Stealth: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (20) + 5 = 25

In a whisper loud enough for the others to hear Rission sees two options.

"Either we finish the kobolds, saving that group of guards and get some allies to fend off the purple men, or we defeat the purple robed men splitting both their forces up and ours. I'd take my chances on the kobolds first to gain some more allies, but then again I'm a bit of a coward."

Male Half Elf Gunslinger 1

Will roll my stealth check, sorry been a long day. I work third shift so I just woke up a few hours ago and haven't been able to check.

Male Half Elf Gunslinger 1

Really depends on your drink(s) of choice. It's hard to drink on a diet so even though I'm a guy I'm stuck to either skinny girl drinks (laugh it up, on a weight watchers diet it's 0 points) and a vodka and tonic with some watermelon of that flavored water squirt stuff tastes like an alcoholic jolly rancher. That being said I can drink amaretto in dr. pepper 10 for 1 point or a pint of certain hard ciders for 3 points.

Male Half Elf Gunslinger 1

On mobile atm so I'll remember to remove 2sp from my sheet when I'm home. Other than that, how is everybody?

Male Half Elf Gunslinger 1

I like this Istiel, the children deserve some peace of mind.

Squatting on his knees next to the children the rogue smiles a broad smile. A few quick movments of his hands as he seems to pull a silver piece out of the little boys ear. He hands the boy the silver before clapping and pulling another silver piece and handing it to the other.

Sleight of Hand: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (8) + 5 = 13

"Listel to the ladies advice and you'll be just fine. Although we should start moving."

Male Half Elf Gunslinger 1

Moving to the kobold that he shot, the rogue pulls the arrow out of its skull and examines the arrowhead wondering if it's still usable.

"Raiders? Us? You have the wrong idea good sir, and if we must make it to the keep we should do so with haste. We must be cautious of any other dangers lurking about the city as well."

Looking over the man with the leg wound he sighs. Rission was no healer, one of the few talents he did not possess was skill with medicine.

"Does anybody have anything that could help this man's wound?"

Male Half Elf Gunslinger 1

After the rock hit him in the face Rission waves his hand in front of his eyes to check his vision. With everything fine he aims his bow at the slinger before smirking.

"Oh you hit me with a rock! Let's just hope that it doesn't leave a lasting mark. I knew missing with that first arrow would cost me, but not as much as it's going to cost you."

Holding off until Bryseis launched her attack his arrow would be waiting in case the last kobold decided to dodge her magic. Lucky for him the kobold was right next to Ms. Madeleine.

Shortbow: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (3) + 5 = 82d6 + 3 ⇒ (3, 1) + 3 = 7

Male Half Elf Gunslinger 1

A short sigh as he missed with his first arrow, Rission reaches into his quiver for another. Eyeing the battlefield he picks his target, best to help the melee types.

Krathok can handle himself, the woman is injured and could use some help. Let's hope that I don't have to waste another arrow.

"Ms. Madeline would you be so kind as to take care of the slingers for us? I'll gladly cover you in return, free of charge of course. Well, the kobold might pay in blood, but that's not my thing."

Seeing his chance to help the woman and Madeline the half elf fires his bow at a kobold next to the woman with the broken spear.

Shortbow: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (11) + 5 = 162d6 + 3 ⇒ (3, 6) + 3 = 12 Extra d6 comes from sneak attack.

Male Half Elf Gunslinger 1

Basically double damage, no need to confirm. There are a few variant crit rules and my favorite is one die max damage plus 1 rolled plus double damage modifiers. It makes crits seem more effective to my home group.

Male Half Elf Gunslinger 1

Lol I wish. No, they are aware of us so we don't get advantage, at least I don't think we do.

Male Half Elf Gunslinger 1

Round 1

Rission let's his arrow fly hoping that it flies true. He realizes the kobolds haven't taken notice of their group yet and uses this opportunity.

Shortbow: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (2) + 5 = 71d6 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7

"That's going to cost me."

Male Half Elf Gunslinger 1

Rission had been carrying his shortbow waiting for a time to hide in the shadows. He walked near the back of the group with the tiefling, while his skill with a rapier would be up to par Rission knew where he belonged. Upon seeing the woman defending the children he drew an arrow ready to let it fly.

"Ah, not a friendly day in the neighborhood. Perhaps we can strike gold with new friends as well as enemies."

Initiative: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (10) + 3 = 13

Male Half Elf Gunslinger 1

I've been having too much fun looking up proverbs containing gold in it. Rission just has a fascination with gold, he's not greedy, but he appreciates how it exchanges hands and how it is forged. He's a goldsmith and the fact that one of his necklaces could travel the lands and end up somewhere that he would never travel inspires him to make quality products so people will buy it.

Male Half Elf Gunslinger 1

Holding his hand up to his hat to block the sun from his eyes the half elf whistles a low whistle. Looking back to his mule and cart full of wares he tries to give it a push. He shrugs his shoulders.

"The beast of burden isn't moving, we might as well scout it out and see if there is anywhere for us to rest for the evening if the dragon leaves. And if the dragon does not leave perhaps there are noblemen and women down there willing to pay us more for our services."

Male Half Elf Gunslinger 1

I'm mostly ready, very skill monkey-ish.
