The body remains there, crashed against the top, with the alien meat slowly roasting on the heat of the room.
"Well, that's some good science right there. Now we know that some of us are going to go splat if and when we cross that," she nods proudly at her test working so well.
"I'm still happy to get some of across without too much danger," Rhoreen again offers, knowing she can take herself and 3 more across the dangerous spot.
She looks again at her friend, Zzvkgrogk.
"Are you sure you can disarm or bypass this, <*sound*>," Rhoreen makes a sound like an alien body crashing against a grill, with the alien meat slowly roasting on the heat.
”I do not possess those kinds of protective magics, Ruha,” Rhoreen answers. ”I can get myself through unscathed, and perhaps scout to see if there is a way to disable the dangers, or I can get myself and 3 others to bypass them, but that is my current limit. I wonder if we have other solutions,” Rhoreen ponders.
Anyone got Wall of Stone or Iron? Force?
”Also, thinking about Yambul’s cooking. It might be wise to take one of the bodies of the recently deceased, like one of those spider things, and toss them in and see if there is any effect,” Rhoreen suggests. ”At least then we might know what we’re going to face.”
After eating, cleaning up, Rhoreen will magic herself up (and others who wish it as well), and then lead others to get a body and toss it into the danger.
"Comparative Philosophy... I suppose you could all it a study of the universes' various beliefs, be they religions or otherwise. A fascinating subject, though not all of my students always thought so."
Rhoreen looks over.
”I think I read a book about that once. Something about having one goblin tied to a guillotine, and then 5 more goblins attached to the same guillotine (but a different part, you only got to kill 1 or 5 goblins with any one action), and how quickly one should make sure the 5 goblins died every time,” she relates her story.
”If I recall correctly, the author was a dwarf.”
She ponders more.
”And then there was the Abadaran text, where it quantified every action as the sum total of money collected as the means to know if something was just or not. I mean, you could rob the orphanage if you need to, because orphans are notoriously bad fighters, and that would be okay, but not as okay as knocking over a pay stagecoach. That was an interesting read.”
Rhoreen is slow to come up, unwilling to be doused in digestive fluids. She smiles as her friend Zzvkgrogk runs to pick up the stone, heedless of dangers.
”Hrm. Well, Calliope – I bet this stomach acid is very useful as a rennet for making something akin to owlbear cheese – strong stuff… an acquired taste for sure... Perhaps this is a cheese factory.”
Rhoreen bows her head, acceding to Zzvkgrogk superior wisdom and thought process.
"I...I had not considered that to be an option," she concedes and follows along...moving up and away if Yambul will be etching in acid, if it's food, then I suppose he is making a door ceviche.
"Stomach acid. I'd know that smell anywhere. Mostly from that time I tried to eat some undercooked hyppogryph meat. I'll never make that mistake again," she notes, unsure how and why stomach acid might be here.
"Anyone have any good theories?"
She thinks on it: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (14) + 7 = 21 Int check - why acid?
While others heal, Rhoreen casts Detect Magic and searches the area. She will hope to find something to do with that area that is difficult to bypass, but is not hopeful about it.
1d20 + 18 + 2 ⇒ (7) + 18 + 2 = 27 Perception
When the room is complete, she is happy to entertain Yambul's offer of rest.

"Plus -- these plasma pits reverse gravity," he explains. "If you do fall you'll end up in that -- " he points to the rippling air with heat sizzling with short sparks of electrical discharge. "Too bad we don't have an antitech field."
Rhoreen nods as Zzvkgrogk explains exactly what she was thinking.
”That’s what I was about to say,” Rhoreen says, following Ruha and Yambul to the next area. ”I could probably find a way around the nasty effects, but not sure about all of you. It seems dangerous to try right now. For your safety, we should look around.”
Moved on map to where I think we’re going next, but if not, feel free to move me to the correct spot.
Rhoreen sniffs her armpit, and then realizes that Zzvkgrogk is very, poignantly right.
"Yes, that is a good plan," Rhoreeng nods, thinking about clearing out the local scum before heading towards the Dark Tapestry for who knows what. "Yeah, Yambul. Explore, then freshen up. I could use it."
Rhoreen is happy to follow Yambul to the next area.
”Yes, we *could* make things go *boom*, but also that route is dangerous even for one as smart and skilled as I am,” Rhoreen smugs and disagrees. ”But maybe we’ll find enough explosives to test even my skill if we keep looking.”
"Wow. I don't know what that is. I have no clue," Rhoreen says, echoing Zzvkgrogk's words but not the actions. "There is no way I'm sticking my face in there."
She casts Detect Magic and looks around, not wanting to miss anything.
”Revion Lassi Súrinen? I’m sorry for your loss and that you have to remember this now. But also, this is a new beginning, and greetings ‘Khalia’, Hail and well met,” Rhoreen greets her new old companion.
”As for your brother, we’ll need powerful magics to restore him,” Rhoreen tries to explain the need for a resurrection spell. ”You should tend to his body as we’ll want it with us if you want him restored.”
"You're becoming more powerful with magics. What can you accomplish here? Can you bring back my brother? Can you..." she pauses, unsure about why she might additionally ask. "Can you return me to my elven form?"
Rhoreen blinks, trying to process the request and the courage (and faith) that Chaance has to even ask the question.
"Yes, maybe. Maybe? Returning you to an elf is possible, but might be difficult, but there is at least one way that I can think of," Rhoreen says, hesitatingly. "As for your brother, if we can preserve the body, we can probably do such once we get back to civilization. I'll need more time to think and research, but maybe. I'm cautious about promising anything."
"Much like how she greeted us, she flees under a cloud of air and vapor, lacking any substance," Rhoreen notes as she puts the kyton's disappearance together.
"We might see her again, and maybe not. She should see what she was doing here. Chaaance? These were your friends? Do we need to arrange burial arrangements?" she points at the dead elves.
Seems like Rhor is outside range of effect, right?
Rhoreen does not have a good solution to the deepest of darknesses at the moment. She focuses his energies to maintain the mercurial magics of her skymetal effects on Hyrsek and Yambul, and then moves up 20’.

You get +1 to your attacks, a bit more speed, and an extra angry attack if you do such things. You know the deal: don’t disappoint Rhor.

Rhoreen moves into the room, trying to avoid being too close to her companions, lest another area effect spell is deployed.
She targets white with her icy stare, bolstered by the mercurial magicks of her skymetal rod.

Rhoreen's face wrinkles up in thought as she thinks, as her research in this particular area lags behind her other, better, and much more smug studies.
Rhoreen takes in the details of the creatures and even asks a few follow up questions, and is happy to translate any of the more confusing aspects of the communication to the others.
”…so, we’ll have to find good ways to beat them. It won’t be easy,” she summarizes.
She nods at the void dragon’s final words, wondering if there would be a time where she was done with the Dominion as well.
”I think this could work. Yambul? Ruha? You okay with this?”
"Yes," Rhoreen answers Ruha's question, "If our good friend <*sound*>," she makes a noise like an Intellect Devourer escaping through a nose hole, "Wants to make it so."
Rhoreen is happy to assist the attempt(s).

”Well, I wasn’t expecting that. This chamber? Uh…well…it uh…” Rhoreen explains the spoiler above.
”To answer your question, Ruha,” she jumps in to answer over Zzvkgrogk (smugly), ”It might make us known to the powers below if we dismantled it, but it might be dangerous, and also, it might weaken those below without this source of energy. I am tempted to destroy it, but I will not act rashly here when we should discuss it first.”
